I bought a stock set of lights for the truck from 1a auto and they fit good except where they meet the grille. Is they’re an adjustment or are these just crappy fitting lights? One photo is the old light and the other is the new housing.

if every gap but that one is good then there is no adjustment possible.  

 

Doesn't look that bad to me though.

How do they look as a pair? Mine did not fit exact either. But I would have to agree that the one looks fine. 

Looks like the grill fits closer to the fender on the left side also.

The old lights fit perfect so I’m guessing it’s just bad fitment on the lights. Hopefully I can return them and get some different ones.

I honestly like the look of the oem lights. And with my light bar and fogs wired into the highs I have enough light output to keep me happy.

It's a commonality with aftermarket headlights in our trucks to leave a considerable gap between the lens and grille. I hated the Sport headlights I got from Sortafit because the fit wasn't as snug as the OEM headlights but I've gotten used to it and hardly notice now. I'm guessing the aftermarket doesn't have exact dimensions of OEM due to patents.

 

If anyone ever needs decent quality bumpers or body panels Certifit has a lot of parts for all makes and models decently priced. I make fun and call it Sortafit even though all the parts I've bought from them actually fit pretty well. http://www.certifit.com

I spoke with 1a and I’m planning to return them. I don’t like that gap.

Did you know what you were getting when you bought them or did you cross your fingers and hope they fit? The fit on yours look good to the grille but the gap between the bumper and headlight looks a bit wider than the the fit between bumper to grille. I've always kinda felt like a guinea pig when buying aftermarket parts because you never know what you are going to get.

No, I already have seen the same lights on a local truck here. The only difference he went cheap with the H1 mini lens. Now as for the bumper gap that most likely because I was too lazy to fight to line up the bumper exactly. Got it close by myself and called it good. I came out on top being that D2S lens cast way more light than the H1 mini lens do. I also opted for the 35w bulbs and ballast which is for longevity reasons where there is a 50w option too but you shorten the life of the bulbs. Skipped all the demon eyes and other optional stuff and stayed basic and focused more so on longevity and performance.

The key to silicone is remeberiing it is easier to add more than it is to wipe off excess.

 

Back when I was carpenter building resteraunts caulking the interior was one of my jobs. I used to have to show many folks that you can seal joints quite well without having caulk smeared everywhere. Just because you cant see it does not mean the joint is not sealed. Your picture is a good example of that.

Great job covering that with caulk but I’m not a band aid fix type of person I want a set that genuinely fits perfect. Lol

So you back to buying quality headlights housings. I know it sucked big time to spend the $1,000 of front lighting. I'm Highly impressed with the amount of light I cast in the dead of winter and can see up to 1 mile out. 

 

Morimoto D2S HID Headlights 

PIAA 530 LED Driving Lights

Switchback marker lights

 

Worth every penny...

If I was keeping the truck in the long run I would go for those but I foresee a p pump truck soon.
