I need some help. I've got a 1999 Ram 2500 Cummins 4x4 auto transmission.

I checked for ac noise and got a reading of .093 So I ordered a Nations 180 amp alternator and it came in today. My ecm was junk P0606 code auto computer specialists received it yesterday, waiting to hear from them on whether  it a yes or no on being repairable. In the mean time I want to remove the tuner that is on the truck and put it back to stock. It has a early model Edge EZ manufacture date was 2008. I followed the wiring coming from the tuner, two connections that I saw were one to the maps on the drivers side towards the rear of the engine the other connection went to Idon't know what it is, drivers side towards the front of the engine. The wires go into the harness and from there I don't know where they go. If I disconnect these connections from the tuner where do I reconnect them to? Am I missing something? 

I just want to get rid of this old Edge EZ tuner and get something a bit more up to date a little bit better. But for now I just want to get the tuner out of there, but I can't seem to find where to reconnect the engine wiring back to. Any input would be appreciated. Also any recommendations as to a new tuner would be great. Really need something for towing and fuel economy. Thank you.

 

On the MAP sensor there are 2 plugs. Unplug the one to the sensor then unplug the oe harness from the other and plug the oe harness into the MAP sensor. The other plug you describe, just unplug it. Nothing will plug back into it. It is a data link and is not used under normal operation. Some one smarter thsn me would explain its purpose except for using it on a tuner. Then there is a power source for the module. Just follow the wires and disconnect. I believe that is all you need on the EZ.

Thats how my Comp comes off plus the pump tap.

There was a plug that goes in that data link, just a cap really to keep dirt out of it.  Maybe zip tie a small plastic bag over the end to keep the connection clean should you need to use it in the future.

Yep. Your right. I don't know how I missed that. It was right by the connection in plain sight. Thank you for the help.

Quadzilla with v2 tuning would be my suggestion. It's not for everyone as we're finding out, but most should be able to figure it out.

I've seen that quite a few people here run the quadzilla. Is it complicated? Why would it not be for everyone?

It can be complicated at first, it takes time to figure out its full potential. Not everyone wants to waste time on it, some want plug and play. Problem with plug and play is it's very limited to what can be accomplished. Another reason is if you stay at or below 50hp injectors, you may be happy with just a simple box that has boost fooling and few settings to chose from. Imo if you're going to spend the money might as well get the quad, just don't get the 4k one, it's more for drag strip then dd.

One our truck there should be just a few connections. 

• CANBus
• MAP sensor
• VP44 wiretap (if tuner has the connection)

Some odd ball tuners actually hook up to the APPS sensor too.

 

As for the Quadzilla tuning it took me 3 years to figure it all out. As for building the best tune that will take months of testing and data capturing to figure out what works best for your truck. Personally I'll never go back to a canned tuner. Just a waste of time being that none of the canned tuners can adjust timing properly for larger injectors. Always have smoke issues because of lack of proper fuel management.
