There are quite a few creepers on the market these days, but most have complaints about breaking, plastic tearing near the wheels, wheels worn out in two weeks, bearings falling out, etc.

Does anyone have one they can recommend? My old wood one from Kmart I bought back in 73, has seeing its last days.

With all the bad reviews I thought of going to Snap-On for their standard duty creeper.

T.I.A for any thoughts or warnings on which one to go for or stay away from.

you can say I've done a few things I'm not proud of   it all seem to work out in the end

  • My dad's Snap-On creeper is around 30 years old.  No problems with the wheels, bearings, cracked frame welds, or anything. The padding is still good, and pad cover hasn't split - it is thick material.

Our shop at work only has snap on creepers, and a couple of bone creepers, some of the snap on ones have been their as long as I have, over 25 years.

the one at home is just a Pittsburgh from harbor freight, it’s pretty much the same one from other box stores, just a different color and name, It works for home use but it stays on the garage floor and I’m not a large man by no means, it’s held up for several years

Part that sucks is it seems to be always falling apart screws and bolts loosening up.

I tack welded mine

I had some carpet padding I used for a while. It had a moisture barrier on one side. That held up for about 5 years. It was soft on the gravel and kept the dampness away with the barrier side down.

I must say since my dad got the two post lift the creepers don't get near the workout they used to!

My new creeper is due to show up tonight before 9 tonight. I'm excited about mounting two metal plates above the shoulder area to hold a fully adjustable magnetic light on either side. It is 47 inches long and wider than most. Supposed to be pretty comfy.
