Center Armrest 99 Quad Cab

Posted

Arm rest is locked in vertical/up position.

I’ve tried lifting, moving to R and L, and repeated normal release action, with no joy.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks

Guess I never use mine and now I'm afraid to :sofa:

You shure something didn't get jammed in a hinge making it not want to go back down

Does yours lock in the upright position? Mine just flips up and down. If mine stuck in up position I would have suspect something is lodged in the hinge or it has broken.

There is a swing weight so if the truck is in a hard braking motion it will lock the center console from moving. You'll need to remove both driver seat and the passenger side as well remove the covers on the center console and then take some PB blaster or silicone spray and lube that hinge up and it should let go. I've had a similar problem with the 2006 rear seat folding. The lock was sticky from spilled food. Plenty of lube and working it back and forth now its fine.

Thanks for Feedback.

Must need lubed since there are no obstacles hindering movement.

To be clear, I need to:

remove both Driver and PAX seats.

remove both L&R covers (pictured)

clean, lubricate, and work mechanism.

And that is why being here is worth it..... who would have thought Dodge weighted the centre seat latch to stop it flopping forward in heavy braking, should have just used a normal hinge and spent the $$$ on wiring/electrics, but hey a glued joint isn't going to catapult your kid into the middle heater vent
