I've got a few tasks to complete. I've got to clear the yard of all my standing jobs. Then get the RV wheel bearings replaced and packed with grease. I've got a brake hose for Beast and got to flush the brake system. Beyond that I should be good to pack up and roll south.

Ya we had a blast! Wish we could have stayed longer but that’s always the case. We’re going to Oceano state park at the end of August. These high fuel prices must be making people cancel trips. We’ve actually been able to find openings  at our favorite spots.

Those are awfull big solar panels in the back of your truck. Is that so it makes a nice air foil for the rv? :stirthepot:

One of the best parts of the trip is the food.  For breakfast we'll have burritos filled with fried potatoes, eggs and bacon or sausage.  Everyone brings a dinner or two.  This year I'll be bringing my signature spaghetti sauce, with salad and garlic bread filled with cheese.  The other meal I'm planning on making is crispy pork carnitas, with corn tortillas, smoky Spanish rice, refried beans, Pico de Gallo, and fresh salsa Verde.   Of course, all meals are followed with pie and ice cream.   @JAG1brings killer handmade hamburgers, that he grills, with homemade Mac and cheese.

I have also come up with a recipe for homemade chili with nice size meat chunks that are seared and broiled on the Barb b que before going into the chili. I have also found a better way to make the burgers too. :rv:my favorite part of the trip is how everyone sleeps in and then have coffee with pastries.

We're on vacation, why get up early, the fish will stay in the lake.

Yep and they have a real fair price on prime rib dinner down at the village restaurant. All downhill coast on the bicycle to get there. :thumb1:

Still working at getting packed up.

Yeah got the A/C cover pulled and its shattered pretty good. Got the carpet shampooed, and started wiping down everything in the RV. I'm still on track to getting out in the morning I'm going to start calling about the A/C cover and bearings. Yeah don't look at the crappy Dicor topping that is peeling up.  I'm not going to listen to RV specialist anymore about, "Oh it gotta be Dicor coating or you'll ruin the rubber" which is BS. I'll snow roof it this summer.

@JAG1knows how to replace an EPDM rubber roof.  He practiced on mine.

I replaced my AC cover about 5 years back with one from IconDirect.com.  They advertised the plastic being thicker than original but when I received the cover it was a lot thinner than the original one.  Also, the screw holes did not line up and drilled new ones.  Before I installed the cover it was washed then 3 coats of Rust-Oleum Painter's Touch 2X for added UV protection.  It's been holding up well so far.

I couldn't do another one. It's a lot of work and there is easier money out there. If there's no rot anywhere I think a good commercial coating would be fine. Of course preparation is key in doing that sort of thing. I would be chasing roof coatings used on high rise buildings like a polyurathane (sp.) base would last a long time from my experience.
