On your 01 I would look at 3rd gen filters, the Baldwin PF7977 is the best followed by the FS19856 from Fleetguard.

That is what I am using on both of our trucks. I use one in my truck as an added safety filter in the event something goes wrong with the filters on the Air Dog 150. Hightly unlikely but might help me out in the event if I got bad fuel with a lot of water in it.

When I had my AD150 installed, I kept the OEM filter housing at the expense of the extra filter & fittings. I am running this exact Baldwin filter in the OEM housing. Nothing should get past the AD filter and separator, but retaining the OEM housing keeps the warning light active.

I've been running the fleetguard on the AD 150 and a fleetguard in the stock filter... As for the stock filter I open it up and peeked in not to long ago and notice the filter is starting to discolor after 50K miles so the double stack filters are really helping out. 136K miles and VP44 still singin' :thumb1:

Thanks to all for your input. I just bit the bullet and ordered a six pack of Baldwin with expedited shipping off Ebay for $74.45. I have purchased my 2 cyc oil from Wal-Mart and will start using it (128./1) upon changing to the Baldwin filter. Am anxious to see if I can tell any difference in my MPG on my way back to South Carolina after the 4th of July.mohok
