I just put a hamilton cam in my 01. I can not say enough about it. It made my paint look fresher and the seats smell better. Girls smiled at me more. Oh yea, the truck runs soooo much smother now as well. The turbo is super loud through the exhaust. I don't think you would recognize the sound of the truck as a 24v now. It get almost instant spool, lower egts, better mileage, it revs to 3500 almost instantly. This will pay for itself in a month the way we drive the truck. I am definitely getting one one in my 05. That will be the first non trans mod I get in that truck.

The whole front of the truck comes off. Most of it is pretty easy. We changed the tappets. That was pretty hard even for my mechanic.

--- Update to the previous post...

Lets hear more

Exactly, the sound of the turbo out of the tailpipe is amazing. It spools so early that my truck sounds like an airplane. I can break the tires loose from a dead stop and I couldn't do that before with my automatic. The power comes on earlier and lasts longer.

Which cam did you get?

181/210. I just called Hamilton and asked them to send me what they thought I needed. I tried PDE also but they are Canadian and wouldn't ship after 11am to the east coast. I bought American.

Sounds awesome, im pumped. Im going to slide a cam and p-pump in sometime over the winter.Sent from my mobile phone using tapatalk

X2 im looking at his new 188\220 Sent from my mobile phone using tapatalk

You will need to cut pistons. That is not a drop in cam. You dont want the killer spank.

I spoke to zach him self on the phone, we went over supporting mods, future mods, and intended use, he told me I would NOT need fly cut pistons with the 188/210.When I order it, I will go over it again to make sure.Sent from my mobile phone using tapatalk

A cam does do wonders! I have the 175/206 cam the Hamilton/Colt/PDR all sell. I didn't want to go any bigger for exhaust brake reasons.. but I LOVE it!

That does sound awsome! How much does it lower the egts and are you running a stock turbo?

We should all collectively do a write up on it. (Cam install) Mine went smooth. The tappets were time consuming. We could help one another. It is not vary hard. I have a dowl kit i could loan out. I dont have the cam tray i used a friends. Some people use a cut pcv tube, getting string and a cork is no problem. What do you guys think do you want to start a write up ?

Yes, please do a write up. I will be doing a cam/p-pump swap in the near future.Sent from my mobile phone using tapatalk

If we all go in on a cam say the 181/210, I would be willing to donate my truck for pix!

Cajflynn, Do you have an exhaust brake? If so do you monitor backpressure? With my baby cam it his peak pressure about 500 rpms sooner, and I have yet to run it above 2500, not sure if it will stay below 65 psi?

If one gets donated to me, ill do a cam and p-pump write up. Sent from my mobile phone using tapatalk

Maybe we can get a government grant to do some fuel milage reserch:lol:

just an FYI you can get the blue STP oil treatment and use 3x in place of the zinc and its still much cheaper than the zinc additive.
