Not sure if this has been done so ill do one. If it has let me know ill delete :)just getting an idea of what people do, how far they push their oil and filters before replacement.

Same interval. ususally around 8k.

10K oil and fleetgaurd filter... But 5K frantz filter change.

I change mine every 4000 miles, or about 2 times a year.

Point of reference for everyone... Every 7,500 miles (6 Months) is starting point from the owners manual.

What does schedule b say?

Schedule B I think is 3.5K miles but the only time Schedule B is required is when your running a truck for emergency vehicle like ambulance, fire truck, etc... Some that is truly flogged from the time you start it to the time you shutdown. But even the oil testing TDR did awhile back said that most petroleum oils will go 20K miles without a problem... Me too! For the most part I change on a 12 month schedule, about 8,000 - 10,000 miles. Oil/Filter/Bypass at the same time, UOA every 7,500 on the oil.

I do the full change at the 10k mark. The manual I have shows the schedule 'A' as 15,000 miles and the schedule 'B' as 7,500 miles. But I'm very old fashion (never gone over 5k in the old days) and 'HAVE TO HAVE' an analysis each change.

How often are you suppose to change the crankcase filter breather element? I have 82 000 on my truck now and in 2000 more its do for an oil change and a Frantz install. Come to think about it I have not changed my serpentine belt either. How do you guys remember when to change your stuff? wright down the milage you changed it and refer back to it. Just curious if there are any unique ways to help people remember.

It just seems to me that 7 or 10 thousand miles is way to long. For all the more it costs me I will change it sooner.Sent from my Droid using Tapatalk

I believe my manual said 100k. But I highly recommend you check your service manual for at least what the dealer recommends. You can do it then, or sooner if you feel like it. I don't always think the recommended mileage by the dealer is right and do it sooner.

Thats cool I wish they had it for mac though! Thats all I own my mac laptop.

When I bought my truck, I bought the service manual. I printed a copy of the maintenance schedule I would be using and put it on a clip board in the garage. When each 5k rolled around, I take a minute to look at it an service as needed. If there was an upcoming service that needed parts I don't have or cost a but more than normal, I'd see if I could get them on sale and put them on the shelf. Gonna need them anyway.I'd like a program like this, but like a few others, I only own mac's. They can only warn you on approx time schedules, like the calendars on your computer, but look prettier. So I just look at the speed-o, and each 5k, take a minute as needed to look at the printout an go from there. Been working for the last 46+ years for me.

Its not a 4-5 quart gasoline engine where the fuel adds acids and other by products to the oil that cause damage. You got to remember its a diesel with 3 gallons (11-12 quarts) of oil. It takes a long time to use that amount of oil up... There is a old post here where Dorkweed ran his truck for 87K miles on a single oil change on Supertech 15w-40 and did oil test every 7K miles... It wasn't till 87K the silicon level started to rise and the oil was changed. Then there is CajFlynn here that changes ~20K miles for a oil change when he clears 1,000 miles a day and that means he would be doing weekly oil changes. His truck is run on fleetguard filters and Delo 15w-40 and cleared the million mile mark no problem. So this 3-5K oil changes are a waste of oil and money...
