When I did mine I got it out easy with a couple small screwdrivers, but if I remember right my brothers was a little more of a pain. His snap ring had some corrosion keeping it in.

I too used a pair of small screwdrivers, mine wasn't a PITA, but was a pita. It's an awkward position for sure.

Funny... I just put my silencer ring back in ... :lmao:But yes a pair of small screwdrivers and lift the ring up and the other to push it out of the groove. The is no gain/loss to taking it out or putting it back in... Just extra noise...

I pulled mine out of my '04.5 years ago. Hated the sound. To me it sounded like the "martians" in the original movie......."War Of The Worlds"!!!!!The total time of my truck without it was about 1 hour. Just enough to remove it...............drive it..............hate the sound................and replace it!!!!!!!:smart::smart:

I liked the sound, but it was VERY quiet. My Garrett on the other hand can howl and I LOVE IT (good thing as there is no ring to remove/replace). Luckily it's not too loud when towing.
