I need some help with my 2001 Cummins. I have recently had some dead pedal issues with my truck and took my truck in to a diesel specialist and had him test my injector pump. My injector pump is fine according to him but he found that my waste gate was stuck on my stock turbo. While trying to free the gate, he noticed my turbo was cracked so I purchased a new after market turbo.Last year I replaced the stock exhaust to a 4" exhaust, added a new lift pump (Raptor) and all of my guages.So, while pulling my 5th wheel last weekend, I noticed some funny shifting patterns and sort of dead pedal syndrome. My friend told me his father in law had issues with his Superchip, I also have a Superchip so I disconnected it and no shifting issues anymore.I still have no power though while pulling my camper. Contantly downshifting even on the smallest hills. My new turbo came with a plug to try and trick the map sensor so I installed that and I still have the 0234 code saying turbo boost limit exceeded. Is this why my truck has no power??Anyone have any ideas of what to check or look at?Thanks

If the reset don't work, a replacement from TIMBO could do the trick. It sounds like your transmission is an auto. Have not experienced this issue, yet.

If you don't have a box to fool or eliminate the computers overboost condition, ie: Edge, Smarty, etc. your engine will defuel at higher boost and then throw a code. At least you should be running quite cool. A used smarty would be the easiest and possibly cheaper option for you, at around $450.I know you said you had a plug, but it must not be working properly... You could just call the manufacturer and be like WTF!Also, fill your signature out please with your truck info... That helps when troubleshooting.

Ahhh.....I have been busy this evening. I made a boost leak boot and tested my turbo for any leaking. What I did find was air coming from my down pipe off of my turbo to my 4" exhaust. This must have loosened up on me as I installed the turbo last Tuesday. I tightened the clamp and now no leaks can be heard at all.I read about my IAT sensor so I removed that and was going to clean it and it looked brand new. I disconnected my batteries, turned the key and let it set for about 1.5 hours. I reset my APPS sensor since I changed my batteries a few weeks back and totally forgot about doing this :banghead:.Tomorrow I am cutting my heat shield out for my turbo to protect my BHAF and to keep it from sucking turbo heat. I also took out my Superchip as I think it was this giving me shifting issues. No issues shifting with it out (returning home) and I had issues with it in while hauling my camper (going camping).Any other thoughts of what could be causing the lack of power for me in od?

You could have a boost leak or even need a w-gate adjustment. What kind of turbo did you replace the factory one with?

I did a pressure test today and fixed the one I found after the turbo. I installed a BD Super B single turbo.

They sent me a boost fooler with my turbo. I can hit anywhere from 20-30 on acceleration, depending on how heavy my foot is when I am towing. I am pretty easy on my truck so I dont ever push it. They are sending me a new boost fooler. Would that boost error code make my truck lack power in OD? I have my guages in my truck for monitoring.

Exactly. Update...........was towing my boat on Saturday. It is an 18' aluminum boat and my truck was down shifting hauling my boat. Something is definetly not right. I certainly dont mind bringing in my truck to be looked at but last time I spent $750 for someone to fix my waste gate on a cracked turbo. Starting to suck big time. I know my lift pump is pumping as I took off the hose, bumped the starter and I am getting more than the required amount of fuel. I have had my injector pump tested (same guys who found my cracked turbo) and they said my injector pump was fine. I am wondering if I have plugged injectors?
