Ahh... Well a little update to the winterizing thread... So far it seem this winter is my worse winter for MPG numbers... I'm still using 2 cycle oil as I've been in the pass winter... But I'm barely making 16 MPG... This is about a 3 MPG loss... Anyone else seeing a loss in MPG this winter??? Duluth Diesel has reduced to 1/2 oz to a gallon and said to be fine. AMSOil claims that 1/2 the amount is needed compared to the Dino brands...So yes you can... :thumbsup

Hmmm... I guess you caught me with my pants down... LOL Well I get that posted in the forum... Yeah mine is balanced , blue printed, but no porting though... But It a quick old car... I've gotten the speedo up to 140 or so in the middle of Nevada desert... 8|

As a matter of fact we are installing battery charger on the fire trucks here... But I've though about adding one to my CTD as well. It would be a awesome way of extending the life of the batteries even more!

Well Russ... There is all kinds of materials you can use. Plastics, wood, metal, aluminum... Just make a set of 4 inserts to cover the grill and it will help in warming up the engine faster! Much better than cardboard... :thumbsup But yo let you know I'm only seeing a +10*F (+50*F total) increase in my IAT sensor with the winter fronts in... I normally are about +40*F over outside temp for IAT sensor with the winter front removed... So a +10*F is not going to hurt me...

Well MoparsMaiden and myself tried for a bit of bird hunting but the forest was very quiet. No foot prints in the snow other than a small ground squirrel. Heard a few forest finches but thats about it. MoparMaiden happen to spot one deer as it was hauling up the mountain face.Still very fun... :thumbsup

Well we got nailed with a large amount of snow here and now its warming back up to 50-55*F and becoming nice out... Snows all gone here and the river is starting to rise again...

Sorry to say...If I'm not working on web sites and forums... I'm work on other computers for a living... But most of my time is spent working on computers...Then if I get absolutely tired of that I go play with the Cummins... Or other peoples Cummins... Then I love to go camping, hiking, cut firewood, off-roading, grouse hunting...

2006+ engines as far as I know of where designed for ULSD...

How long was the fitting that you put in the pan?I thought about that but it worried me that it would rattle out or leak later on in life...I thought about wnat to tap the other turbo return hole on that side of the block... But I couldn't find a fitting for it... :rolleyes

While your using B5 there is no need for PS or 2 Cycle Oil... BIO Diesel is very srong solvent in its own but has more lubricity that PS or 2 Cycle oil... The bulbs are 5 years old now and never blown out. I've never crush one yet... 100 watt aircraft landing lights... :smart My manual override switch is on my overhead console... But I'm hooked up to the trailer wiring. There is a 30A (or 40A can't remember??) fused power line in that harness, ground, backup lights, etc... So I took the 30A as a power to my relay. Then used the back up light a signal to trip the relay. The realy in mounted high up in the driver side tail light to try and keep it dry. It also wrapped up in a plastic bag too...

I've concidered the narrower tires... I'm currently at stock size of 265/75 R16 I though of going down to the size that my old 1972 had and my Mom truck currently has 235/85 R16 still a 31 ich tire just narrower...I would love to here more about your tire facts there Keydl :thumbsup

Hmmm... I got to admit I've been really lucky for 15 years then... I've own 3/4 ton trucks for about 15 years and never bother to chain up. I've always got a good aggressive tires and never had to chain up... Even when I go out to play in the swon I just go... As a matter of fact the chains I've got for my old 1972 Dodge don't fit my 2002 Dodge at all... :rolleyes I think what my science is that every winter I go out and look for a snow loaded lot that is about 3-5" deep with sonw and go play in it. I purposely get the truck to slide and get used to the feeling... So when it does start to happen I know how to correct it and keep going. Also I try to bury myself too. Then carefully figure out how to get out with just basic hand tools like a shovel.Like I said for 15 years now I never used chains, studs, or other traction devices...Oh... I just remember... Most of last winter I ran the highway solely in just 2WD... I think the only time I ran 4WD was going out to my snowmobile road and ithe snow as about 12-16 inches deep...

I personally think Dodge/chryslers greatest engines where the slant 6 225 CID and the 318/360 Engines...Seems like those engine would go on for ever and never die if taken care of properly. Then the 727 Trans was another that could take a beating...
