High idle/3cyl high idle/MPG fooler unit
I live in a hole. Leaving my driveway I have to go uphill a fair distance before it flattens out. I like the idea of being close to operating temps when I leave.

High idle/3cyl high idle/MPG fooler unit
Sounds like a great mod! Put me on the list!

For us newbies, can you explain the benefits of these modifications?

New injectors ???
I've never had the injectors out.

Thoughts on bolt in transmission pan adapter
Thanks for that. I assume that install of the new line will take cutting and flairing of the old line? Sure like flaired fittings as opposed to hose clamps! - - - Updated - - - I'm not a huge fan of Source Automotive. But may allow them to install one of their valve bodies.

New injectors ???
No, seems to be coming more from left side. No clicking from BHAF. Just some low rumbling.

Thoughts on bolt in transmission pan adapter
Can you expand more on the full flow mod? I understand the concept, but procedure and explain why the manufacturer had a check ball anyway. Thanks!

New injectors ???
Did the valves a few months ago, but ill check them again. Maybe I missed one that's way out of whack.
-
New injectors ???
I bet the new has worn off the ones I have now.

New injectors ???
Would new injectors quiet down my rig? When I run 2 cycle oil at the specified ration it's a little quieter. But still have a clicking sound almost like a lifter sound on a gas motor with low oil. Lol. Or like a cracked exhaust manifold sound. No rough idle though. So I don't believe that an injector is inoperative. Just wondering what to expect with new injectors. Almost 180k miles now. Will they give me better fuel economy? My primary objective besides reliability.

2001.5 Emergency Brake Article
looking at the pictures I thought that you had rear disc brake pics and earlier drum brakes mixed in the article. Now I realize that there is a set of drum shoes inside there for parking brake. Wow, :banghead:Do these shoes wear out very often? Should I plan on replacing with my rear pads/rotors?

Turbo Trouble???
I have a mostly stock cummins. Only plan on upgrades that increase reliability and efficiency. Had my air filter off today and have been monitoring an oily buildup on the intake side of the turbo. I can now feel lateral movement on the turbo shaft. Figure I am needing a solution. Any reason to upgrade my turbo? Is a rebuild kit and self rebuild a feasible job for us backyard mechanics? Send it off for rebuild? Buy a rebuilt unit? I don't spend money on bling, so just looking for a cost effective yet long term solution.

Mopar1973Man's Crankcase Vent Modification
Yeah, PITA to get to and messy.

Mopar1973Man's Crankcase Vent Modification
Did the mod today. Went as expected. The previous owners solution to emptying the puke bottle was to poke holes in it. Front of my engine is a mess, but won't get any worse now. I'll wait to clean until I pull the radiator.

Mopar1973Man's Crankcase Vent Modification
I've got a hunk of 1/2" electrical conduit laying around. Any problem with using it rather than PVC.

Thoughts on bolt in transmission pan adapter
I ordered the line from Rock Auto. I'm due for a Trans service. I'll just have my transmission guy install it while he does the service. No real description provided. Does it include the correct size fitting for 1/8" sensors? Any trick to removing the check valve ball?

Thoughts on bolt in transmission pan adapter
Are you getting a true reading of temperature from the outside of the line? Or relative and need to boost up the true transmission reading? Obviously very simple.

What kind of fittings should I use? I hate hoses and clamps. Sounds better not having to mess with the sensor each time you remove the pan too.

Thoughts on bolt in transmission pan adapter
I see that Geno's carries a bolt in after drilling transmission pan adapter to install a temperature sender. Seems you drill a hole in the tin pan and install the compression fitting. Does this sounds like a viable option to buying an after market aluminum pan for a couple three hundred bucks? My transmission is due for service and seems like a good time to add the temp gauge.

fuel pressure gauge install question.
I went through this a few months ago. I put a schrader tee right up into the isolator so I could purge air out of the fuel line right up the the isolator. I pushed the diaphragm in with a pencil eraser end, then filled up the gauge end with 50/50 mixture of anti freeze. Then took a plastic pop bottle and drilled a small hole in the cap. Filled with anti freeze mixture and stuck the 1/8" tube into the cap at the gauge. Once I could see no more bubbles coming out of the clear line under the hood, stick it into the isolator fitting. My intent was to purge all air from the isolator to guage. I got push fittings for both ends instead of the olive compression fittings. Much easier and re useable.

anyone a lawyer in michigan?
No equity is good during a divorce. Either let it go back to the bank or take over the house yourself and pay nothing to the wife. Either way she looses. Might be hard to get the wife and kids out. If there is equity and she defaults, he may have a course of action against her? I'd get it appraised right away. See if she will agree to sharing the cost.

choose wisely and treat kindly. If your choice was poor, you have no chance.

Nev-R-Adjust Brakes
My work trailer needed brake work. Magnets worn, shoes worn, drums fried on the magnet face. Found a local distributor. New 10" total brake assembly minus the hub/drum for $35 each. Everything went well. Couple hours to change over. I've got the bearing lube system that has a grease zirk in the end of the axle stub. Anyway, I'll let you guys know how the new Nev-R-Adjust system works out. Same basic system as older. Just a cable and advance system for the star wheel. With the new hub/drums I have all new bearings and seals too. $90 a wheel total cost. I'll have the old drums turned and next time it will be cheaper. 40k miles in two years on my work trailer. Brakes don't last very long.

I spent $12k on my divorse. Not sure if that qualifies as bleeding dry. Every state is different. Oregon assumes that both parties should work and bases child support on that. We generally have no alimony here. That's the big thing. There is no easy way out. But all I can say is after its over it does get better. Nothing like a woman you've been married to being on your wrong side. Good luck to him. I bet a lot of us here can be supportive.here the courts don't care who is the better parent. Unless there's been documented abuse then just live with shared custody.

Cleaning g engine?
Are there any concerns in regards to cleaning the engine with aerosol cleaner and high pressure water? Areas to avoid for fear of causing more problems than leaving it dirty?
