Sport headlight conversion harnesses - coming soon..
Are you planning on soldering in a diode on the bottom of the relay, since the diode relay doesn't seem to be available anymore?

raptor 150 running real slow
Warranty is one thing, being down for a week or better is another. Been considering ordering a second pump that has all the same fittings. Swap out would take maybe 15 minutes. Wonder if you can buy a raptor without the hoses and electrical for say a hundred bucks cheaper. The kits usually run $120 or so if bought separate.

Fuel drain valve on fuel filter?
I've been leaking a small amount of diesel since my fuel system upgrade. Assumed it was one of the many connections on the filter or injection pump. Could find no sign of leaks there. Crawled under the vehicle. Nothing from the front. Diesel has been dripping off the front drive axle housing. Went behind the front axle and found a drip hanging off the filter drain hose. So I figured I'd open and close it. Started the truck and diesel came out the hose full force. Shut off truck. Opened and closed the valve a number of times. It feels sticky. But finally got it to shut off. Not sure yet if it fixed the slow leak or not. Is that drain valve serviceable? I see its got a screw cap on top. Should I get a whole new valve? - - - Updated - - - Did a google search and got lots of answers. Looks like I need a new unit or reseal kit.

Donations to the site
So, it's not like church where we're supposed to give 10% of our income?:pray:Seriously, I don't support any other forums with money. This one is different. I look at it like a tuition cost for learning about my vehicle. Never owned a diesel before. It's different too in that I don't have to keep my mouth shut about wolves, lack of logging, or concealed carry. My hunting forum doesn't allow debate on wolves for instance except for in the specific wolf thread. There people can choose to stay out if they want. I got in trouble for asking if anyone was interested in an out of state wolf hunt. Got slapped down and lost privileges for a month or so.

What fuel pressure do you run if you have a gauge?
I'm new to 20 psi. When cold and the intake heater kicks on and off I cycle between 16 and 20 psi. I figure its a condition of lower operating voltage? Volt gauge goes down, lights dim, wipers slower. Is this all normal? I figure the voltage drops to that of near 12 volts because of amp draw and when the heat plate shuts off the voltage goes back to that of the alternator (14.5). Thus slowing the volume from the pump, since its electric too.

Are all custom valve bodies created equal?
Do custom valve bodies have a downside? I've done no transmission upgrades. Just a twin disc T/C. I already get a pretty good jar when dropping into gear. Shift isn't sharp though. Plus I can go through school zones at idle (20 mph) once rolling. From dead stop about 12mph. Is this what they call "low stall"?

Money is about all I'm worth at the moment. And that has a limit too.

Donations to the site
I saw that as of mid month, donation amount was zero. I donated $25 to kick start the $300 goal and as a thanks for all the help I've gotten with maintenance on my truck. I gave last month too, but can't do it every month of the year. Lets see that donation goal busted. I'm sure we all get benefits from the site that's worth a periodic donation.

What fuel pressure do you run if you have a gauge?
Just installed a raptor and got rid of the engine mounted lift pump and banjo bolts on filter and VP. Big lines came with the raptor. Added a big line to between filter and VP. Set at 20 idle and goes down to 16 WOT. Nuts holding on lift pump were loose. Didn't even need a socket. 162,000 miles it was time!

Drop fuel tank or lift bed?
Fuel pump and big lines are in. Dropped tank part way. That worked fine. 17-20 psi now. Perfect! Thanks guys!!BTW. I was filling out my warrenty card. Model and serial#. Box was marked Raptor 150, but tag says 100. Not sure what Vulcan Performance will do? I'd rather have the 150 than the $20 difference between the pumps. But I installed it. I need my truck Monday.

Share your RV mods...
I've had a plat cat on order for about 10 weeks. So don't expect to get one on the spur of the moment. I have the big one coming. I've downloaded the install info. Pretty easy to install. Have the place picked out too. Close to propane and power and accommodates the setback specs. Vents with 1.5" plumbing vent black PVC. Got a galvanized roof vent for it. Best to have him add accommodations for a condensation vent in the bottom of the case. Then run a small clear tube down through the floor. Not only do you vent the CO, but you vent the water vapor too. I had an Olympic in my old trailer. Everything had condensation. Walls, windows. I don't do RV parks much, so the lower amp draw will be a big plus. He claims you can run this heater for a week on one deep cycle battery. I'll be able to give you guys toasty review later this fall.

Fuel tank filler and Vent Hose
I assume the filler neck is okay but the hoses are cracked and have been leaking. I'm trying to get this all done in one day putting as many parts together as possible. I'll get started early so that the parts stores will be open. H

Fuel tank filler and Vent Hose
Is there an aftermarket solution for the event hose and filler hose? Cummins wants $180

Drop fuel tank or lift bed?
I understand it takes a deep well socket to access the tank strap nuts. I've got all the parts ordered for this weekend. Raptor 150 with the big line kit including elimination of banjo bolts on filter and VP. My question is, what size socket do I need? I've got to buy one to do the job. Thought maybe someone knows.

Fuel Pressure Gauge - Electronic or Mechanical???
Vulcan has little push connectors for the gauge back and isolator end of the 1/8" pipe. You can even push on the end if the fitting and remove the line as needed. I drilled a hole in a pop bottle cap so I could use a pop bottle to fill the line it out stopping and flushed while a helper shoved the isolator end into the slip fitting. I believe I evacuated a lot more air this way than fooling with compression fittings. The olive on the compression fitting crushes and is made for one time use. I ran mine down an electrical tester probe, which comes to a needle point and gets progressively larger. Used a crescent wrench to put pressure on the olive and was able to re-expand it to fit over the 1/8" hose. But the quick connects for obvious reasons are much easier. Multiple on/offs without damage to the piping or fittings. :thumb1:Then a schrader valve inline before the isolator so you can bleed the isolator without messing with the bleeder screw, which was not sealing without Locktite on mine.

Air drag on my truck?
I have a canopy. It's a little wider than the bed, stands about 2' above the cab, all corners are rounded about 8" radius. Any idea how much drag as opposed to no canopy? Will I have much more drag with the 22' trailer behind?

Talking about concealed carry by staff at schools
There are some cities in Oregon that have laws against open carry. Portland for instance is ok with open carry as long as you are a CHL holder. Kinda weird. The Wilderness packs are pretty nice. They are a hybrid carry. Technically concealed, but it's obvious what you are doing. Bag with a flap over the top and comes apart on 2 sides with Velcro when you deploy your gun. Had a friend with one in red. Sewed a white cross on it. When people ask him what's in it he tells them, "it's my safety kit." - - - Updated - - -

Talking about concealed carry by staff at schools
SRH = Super Redhawk from Ruger. No, cant shoot 454 through the 44 mag. Just commenting that the 44 is capable of just about as much energy with handloads as the 454. I've got a Glock 20C as well. Only reason I want a new barrel is to more readily shoot hard cast bullets. The 10mm is a great gun! 17 rounds of about 357 energy is wonderful as a self defense backup gun for hunting. OK punk, you're probably wondering if I shot 5 or 6 times. Well, no matter I've got 11 or 12 left. I carry an extra clip for the 10mm. That's 33 rounds on my hip. If I miss with all those, when it gets close the fire coming out the barrel will burn the sucker.

Talking about concealed carry by staff at schools
460 is a great gun because you can shoot so many cartridges. I had a Ruger 454, but now I've just got a Rossi lever gun in 454. I think it holds 10 in the tube. That's a lot of fire power! I've gone to a 44 magnum in handgun. The 454 OAL is pretty much to the end of the cylinder. The 44 magnum OAL is way short. You can seat the bullet further out and get more powder in the case. Not much difference between the two and brass is everywhere and cheaper. The SRH's can handle well above SAMMI specs. But I tend to stay standard OAL due to the fact that I have a 44 mag lever gun too. Shoot the same loads out of both. 305 grain hard case lead.I've got a 45-70 which shoots 500 grain hard cast. Thats a thumper! I had that and my 338 with me this year. Wanted to shoot an elk with the 45-70. My buddy saw the elk on his side. I asked which gun. He said the big one. LOL. I re asked and he said 338. OK. I got out and went over the rise and they were 75-150 yards away. It's ok though. Downed a nice elk at 90 yards.

Talking about concealed carry by staff at schools
I'm on the school board in my town. Been board chair for 3 out of 6 years. Anyway, we will be discussing school staff carrying concealed weapons on Monday. I don't expect it to go anywhere, but its on the agenda. I'm not really sure I want to push it yet. No school district in Oregon has done this yet, legislation is currently being kicked around that would make it not possible and its a very divisive issue for the liberal makeup of the industry. Currently citizens can carry in schools as long as they do not have an employment contract with the schools. I carry regularly. Keep posted for fireworks report and update on legislation.

Computer Geeks, Help!
OK, since everything worked in Windows Internet explorer I decided to go into the help screen on Firefox. It took me through the process of starting Firefox in safe mode and things worked properly. So there was a procedure of shutting off plug ins and extensions, restarting Firefox after each change in standard mode. Anyway, it all works now. Funny thing is that it was only a couple of my regular forums where it was a problem. But all fixed now. Thanks!!!

Off the grid retirement?
My wife and I are getting tired of the liberal politics in Oregon. We also would like more seclusion. We live in a log home, but dream of a more recluse lifestyle in our retirement years. We took a trip to Idaho last summer for a wedding and were impressed with the liberty you seem to have there. I've got a real estate app on my phone and there are some pretty nice places on 5+ acres for decent prices. Is there an area you'd recommend looking to settle? Must have firewood available for heating. Would rather cut it off site rather than on our own property. Getting really tired of government and carbon taxes pushing up utility rates.

Economy diesel sedan or wagon
We've got a 2006 megacab and also the second gen cummins. Things have changed in our family. Becoming more less empty nesters after 6 kids. Down to 1.5 and they drive themselves now. We are looking to sell the magacab and get a high mileage diesel sedan or wagon. My first choice would be a wagon. We are pretty big people too,so roominess is a plus. We would also like to spend no more than the money we can get for the megacab ($22,000?). Is there a year and model of diesel rig that you guys can recommend? I'm thinking VW. Don't know of any other options.

Are all custom valve bodies created equal?
I live near Source Automotive. They offer a valve body upgrade. The question I have is...are all valve bodies created equal? Just because they are close to me doesn't mean it the best on or even a good one. But the benefit is that they'd be installing it. So no finger pointing if something doesn't work as it should. I do have a transmission guy also that did my t/c and did a minor tear down of the transmission for inspection while it was out. He gave me an old valve body that I can use as a core. So I could have him install any valve body in the planet. Any thoughts?
