  1. I bought one of those wireless ones, only used it a couple days. Signal from camera was intermittent, and wireless security cameras ,would trigger it causing the monitor to randomly turn on-pretty annoying..
  2. This is it - seems legit?

    Northwest Ohio..
  4. Well, there's lost, and there's LOST! Seriously though it can happen to anyone, it's how you handle it that makes it either inconvenient or, life threatening. Stopping and verifying your location is paramount, you may be better off to stay put, at the very least, don't move after dark. Even familiar terrain looks different at night. Always be Prepared to spend the night.. I snowmobile in the U. P. a lot, in pretty nasty conditions at times, here's what I carry. I have GPS on the sled, I carry a second one in my pocket, along with a map, in case I'm separated from th sled, or the GPS pukes (it's happened). I carry a hat, lighter, knife, and a 9mm on me as well, not for everyone, but my choice. I have a pack on the sled I never leave without, it has extra gloves, a pair of socks, survival kit (magnesium fire starter , GI Trioxane tab, lighter, whistle, flashlight, surveyors tape, maps, compass, mylar poncho, 550 cord) nylon rope, spare belt, fuses, fuel relay and basic tools. Some batteries and water and energy bars also.. Sounds like a lot, but it can all be packed in a very small pack, prioritize what should be on your person, and keep in mind plan A doesn't always pan out. That's why I carry backup to what I feel is critical.

Kenton is 30 miles South of Findlay,Northwest corner of the state..
  6. X2 on the above-Ruger over builds their revolvers, I did a lot of research and bought a Blackhawk in 45 LC just for this reason. To give more flexibility ,ammo wise, I also went the convertible that has a 45acp cylinder .. It's far more accurate than I am ,plus I can handload the Long Colt's big lead up near 44mag velocities in the Ruger..

Hi everyone, I'm new to the forum and this is the first Diesel pick-up I've owned. Spent a lot of time with the big Cummins' back in the day, so the Cummins/Dodge was the only choice when I decided go diesel .. I've been reading lots of info on here and just found my way down to the intro section!
  8. A little late to add ,but I thought I'd throw this out there. A looooong time ago my Cat/Cummins instructor said don't wast your money on commercial flushes, just use plain old "Iron Out".. Worked great back then on heavy diesels ,should work fine in this platform also.
  9. Thanks for the pics! Couldn't find it before, now I have a reason to roll around under my new to me Dodge again:thumbup2:
  10. Any experience with this kit made by superior? http://www.cascadetransmissionparts.com/48reshiftcorrectionkit05-07.aspx
  11. yes, I know it is- I meant costs of the parts etc.. One of the things recommended was a convertor also-I'm not planning on going past what I could do during a filter/fluid change..
  12. This is a great thread, I will definitely be using two-stroke (super tech as of now) in my fuel! Do you guy's think it needs to be a TCW-3 designated oil or can I use the same (2 stroke -mineral, not synthetic) oil I buy for my snowmobiles? Most sled manufactures recommend not using TCW-3 oils in their engines due to ring sticking I believe, but it would be nice to use the same kind I keep on hand.
  13. Thanks for the info, I might do some more investigating on a shift kit or basic mods that I can do just by dropping the pan. This is something that I very rarely notice, and the only towing I do is a Snowmobile/toy trailer that's less than 6000# loaded.
  14. That's something I need to consider. Any recommendations on a shift kit? I'm assuming there will need to be some drilling or mods to the stock valve body?
  15. Well thats kind of what i was thinking,I guess I wouldn't be upset if it doesn't help, more worried about additives and OEM lubricants not playing well with each other!
  16. Has anyone ever used this with the 48RE? I used it in my last truck(06 Hemi/1500) and was impressed with how it improved its shift. Every once in awhile under very light acceleration, I get a feeling almost like the convertor locked up early-it's doesn't feel like slipping or a shudder ,hard to describe actually. My half ton acted the same even after filter /fluid change and I added this-cured it. I just bought this 2500 a couple months ago and I'm a little leery pouring just anything in my transmission, I plan on doing the filter /fluid /band adjustments in about 6 weeks but wondered about giving this a shot in the interim? My truck has 63,000 miles on it -Thanks!
  17. Cool, thanks! The Super-tech is alot cheaper than SkiDoo oil!
  18. I saw super tech was tested, Does it seem to matter brand or synthetic vs std? Or just simply the cheapest TCW-3?
  19. I work at Cooper tire and the cracking issue around the sidewall is where two different rubber compounds meet. The side wall is comprised of a softer compound vs. the bead area which is very stiff. That being said It's a fairly common issue in tires as you go up in ply ratings ,most people never notice it. I've had a set replaced just as you did, and I've been told it's not really a safety issue but I'm not a engineer and any crack in a tire concerns me! Cooper obviously is smart to swap these out regardless, if you bring it to their attention and they don't warranty them, any safety issue you may have down the road could bring considerable liability costs headed they're way!
