Finally made the leap..
Not quite in the upper, so no yooper- I tried ,but the wife wouldn't move that far from the Grandbabies . West of Gaylord a bit, surrounded by National forest, only places near are a couple seasonal vacation/hunting cabins down the road. Hoping to be able to buy the property next to us also, to keep it that way. Beautiful country and with a Snowmobile/Atv trail nearby ,I won't need to trailer anymore..This was when we started clearing this summer

Finally made the leap..
After 22 years at Cooper tire, I walked out the door for the last time today. It was a very bittersweet decision ,many months in the making. We have had some land in Northern Michigan for a couple years, and planned on retiring there in 8-9 years. Unfortunately a potential buyout by a Indian company, the Market and Corporate decisions concerning our particular plant (and most U.S. plants) have cast doubt that any of these will survive that long. So Looong story short when they pushed me out of my current job into a job that was taking my pay lower than it was in early '92 we made the decision, it was time.. None of this was in our master plan and I'm sure there will be some huge bumps in the road, but I took a lump buyout and as soon as Cooper releases it ,I'm loading up the Dodge and heading North for the winter with a camper,a quad, (snowmobile too ) and start clearing a build site! I'm stoked!!

Another twist to the ammo shortages..
I've loaded some of the 30-06 / .223 Sabot rounds and found the accuracy very hit and miss (pun intended) more emphasis on miss..I'm sure with some load development there can be some drastic improvements ,but doubt it ever be a dependable tackdriver-neat to play with though:thumbup2: I wish I'd stocked up on wheel weights when they were plentiful, they're tough to find in my area now... What's clean alloy going for now Flagmanruss?

Another twist to the ammo shortages..
The EPA is closing the last running U.S. lead smelter, wonder what effect this will have on ammo? http://www.nraila.org/news-issues/articles/2013/10/end-of-an-era-last-us-lead-smelter-to-close-in-december.aspx

Heater Treater
Good info to know (except the 'duck butter' ) , since mine seems very slow to respond after changing.

Fuel pressure gauge..
Looks like 30 psi will be plenty then Is the petcock in there to bleed off pressure? I'm assuming ,no hardware comes with the gauge , so what will I need to tap into the system? The "banjo bolt" way of tapping doesn't apply to the CR system right? So I would need a T at the filter housing or tap into a line?

Fuel pressure gauge..
I'm thinking of putting a fuel pressure gauge in my '06 to keep a eye on the lift pump pressure,I figured running a stock setup, fuel was probably the most critical to keep a eye on. I wasn't sure if a 30 psi gauge was enough, so looked i've been looking at some 60 psi ones, I'm interested in this one. http://www.jegs.com/i/JEGS-Performance-Products/555/41042/10002/-1?parentProductId= Where is a good place to plumb this in , and will I need a 'T', or is there a blind plug somewhere I can tap? Thanks!

Obamacare is so screwed up
X2 on that! Sometimes I feel like they are on a crusade to literally crush the common man, all while telling him it's for his own good. The costs coming down the pike from O-care are going to make it difficult for business's to survive, much less expand and grow. Most of the hiring in my area has been reduced to temps. or part time jobs with hours under the cap. Personally I've been a union worker for 25+ years, and I've watched them drink the kool-aid offered to them, without question. Sometimes I look around and wonder if they really believe the B.S. that's being fed to everyone, or just don't want to go against the machine. I've been against O-care and co. since the beginning , and now that they are starting to reap what they've sown , the unions aren't so happy with it either- :banghead:duh? How anyone could imagine this was going to do anything, but cost unfathomable amounts of money and wreak havoc on all of us is beyond me. I tried to read the 2500 page thing entirely, but I had to stop before my head exploded, the most obvious clue as to how bad we were gonna get screwed , was the "we've got to pass it, so you can see whats in it" line. Kind of a just sign here we'll fill in the details later.. This whole mentality is got us where we are today, and it's also why the plant where I work is not going survive long enough for me to retire. Voicing this opinion:smart: over the years has made me less than popular at times, and honestly I don't really care! As a result of this madness, myself and many others were forced to take a 40% paycut, and now 8 yrs from retiring, I'm looking for another job AND I absolutely blame the liberal mentality for this mess .... It's Just my cents, thanks for letting me vent:pant:

Rookie question on Dana 70
Your correct, if you have a "open" differential (not locking) turning the yoke will only spin one axle, if you grab the spinning one and stop it ,the other side will then spin. If you get stuck you can sometimes fool it:ahhh: into a slight redneck posi by gently applying a little bit of brake. This forces the spinning axle, to transfer some of it's power to the non-spinning one.. Not much mind you but a little..

A/C Question
Not sure what year yours is but , it's designed that way in many late models. It shouldn't run all the time, just intermittently it's supposed to help keep the humidity down. I haven't noticed (or looked for it) in my '06 but I know a friends '10 does it also.. If yours is running constant , it may be a problem in the selector?

I used to wail on 'em ,but the blue wrench is easier on the rims and body..No need to get carried away, use big tip, keep the flame pretty "loose":thumbup2: and don't stop in one spot, keep it moving in a circle around the rim, usually it will just fall off..

A Hair Loss Conundrum
- A Hair Loss Conundrum
X2 on #2:iagree: - I had mine long years ago, but when the boys got their heads shaved in basic I thought I'd give them a laugh and do mine as well.. It stuck No maintenance and I do it myself -No bowls:nono:- A Hair Loss Conundrum
The hair helps disperse the sweat, creating a lo tech evaporative cooling system as your body perspires - like a wick. :smart:Less hair = less wicking so the heat remains closer to the skin..Or..... I could be wrong ,but it seems like a workable theory! A sunburnt head brings a dose of reality too- hate it when that happens!- transmission
That's a good way to get more fluid out, similar to how the Quik lube shops do it. Adjusting bands isn't hard at all, it's just something you shouldn't do haphazardly and just wing it . Keeping them in spec will help your transmission live a long life, and if you wait till they're not working properly (slipping), the damage is probably done .- Zimmerman, then and now...
In my opinion "racism" will never fade as long as there is money to be made over it. Both the media and people like Sharpton/Jackson will keep stirring the pot and lining their pockets , regardless of the harm it causes. Unfortunately it grows like a infection, breeding more people who learn that if they play the discrimination card, they will have a free pass for their mis- deeds.. - A Hair Loss Conundrum
