  1. Might have to try this! The bottom of my front doors are all chipped up, and the black might be a good contrast with the red.. There is a clear material out there too, it's for the same application , but I'm not sure where to buy it from?

What a great idea to thank this man for his service!:thumbup2: Memorial day may be the official holiday that brings it to our attention, but we as a country should always respect and be thankful to those who have served. Along with honoring the Veterans we need to also remember those who are currently serving and are in harms way. Something as simple as a flat rate box filled with odds and ends or a magazine subscription can bring a small taste of home or at least a short distraction from the madness. There are groups like Adopt a platoon, Adopt a soldier, or even donate to a local group such as the Blue star mothers, they support veterans and active duty soldiers and send out care packages regularly. If you are interested and can't find the info you need online, My wife is the President of our local Blue star moms and I'm sure she can find your closest group that can hook you up with a soldier to send something too..
  3. Wise words, brave man.. ... Weed wacking not so bad has a destructive feel to it,I hate painting the roof:(
  4. X2 on that!!! I don't know why ours aren't bald..
  5. http://www.summitracing.com/parts/pte-h1373?seid=srese1&gclid=CNPmqa_gpbcCFcxcMgodhXsAmQ Something like this would probably work well for the side exhaust...All this stack talk has me thinking:whistle:... I like a cap during hunting season though-so that makes it pretty tough
  6. Amazing ,makes me wonder how a similar test would work with other bypass filter's? I used to use Lubrication Engineers oils, in Hole trucks and Loaders, all of theirs were red, the gear oil had a almost metallic color to it.....Great stuff but pricey!!
  7. Super tech TCW-3 , approx 1oz per gallon, all the time. Learned about it here, tried it engine was noticeably quieter at idle.
  8. I'd hate to use the pull starter on that trimmer:cry:
  9. Just in the couple months I've had this truck, ran into the same -green handles at some stations ,we have one that uses a yellow handle also..There should be a set Standard ! It would be pretty easy to do actually , they're all on the same pumps which sometimes aren't mark that well..Usually there's some diesel on the ground to confirm hahaha
  10. No idea about the HFRR-but even if the tank was pretty full that's going to be at least a 20-30% mix, I would think there would be damaging detonation. I'm not familiar at all with how the newer electronic controls work(but I'm on a learning curve:wink:) but, unless these controls can sense something is up and alter or shut down the fuel delivery somehow it cant be good....Felt bad for him till he got all snappy with me..
  11. :ahhh:Sooo...I'm putting fuel in the truck at the only diesel pump at the station, in rolls what looks like a brand new Dodge diesel. He pulls around to the other side which is gas only and, starts pumping gas...in his diesel ! So I poke my head around the pump and say " Hey ,that's a nice looking diesel-love the Cummins, but do you know your putting gas in it?" He never stops pumping and just snaps " doesn't matter , a little won't hurt it" YIKES!! I bet he put 6-7 gallons in that thing, fired it up and drove off.. I wish I would have followed him now, just to laff, and offer a tow..

I used to think the same way, until my CCW instructer offered his point of view. His experiences as a witness in court has shown this argument doesn't stand up well, since these are the loads you're practicing with. Using factory defense loads ie: "Hornady critical defense" could lead to the same line of questioning if you think about it. Simply put, his advice is you should be fine to load your carry gun with what you practice with, but don't go crafting special loads (like mercury filled hp's) with the intention of using them in "defense"! That being said my CC gun is stoked with commercial loads, but I hunt /practice/knockaround with cast..

Do you ever shoot cast bullets? They are quite a bit cheaper, I eventually started casting my own ,wheelweights make a great bullet add a little linotype to the alloy for defense loads to increase the hardness. Unfortunately they are getting harder to come by also lately..
  17. cool video:thumbup2:
  18. Here's a link to contact Dodge to request info on your Truck-just ask for a build sheet and they will send it along with any warranty/campaign issues that haven't been addressed . :shrug:I did a quick search and couldn't find if someone had posted this. http://www.dodge.com/wccsapp/universal/D/index.jsp?appStr=wccs&titleStr=Contact+Dodge&familyStr=brand&franchise=D&actionURL=%2Fwccs%2Fbrand_forms%2Fus%2Fwebform.jsp&promotion=null&category=U

After reading this thread ,I have a spare one under the back seat of my truck..
  20. And I agree, I don't think there was ever a longevity problem with the old cheap tried and true. The flip side of the discussion is I've had two vehicle where the previous owner mixed the green in ,with in this case orange...Not good, sticking t-stats and created a nasty mess in both, took several flushes and thermostat changes to get them back on track, even then the waterpump on the truck started leaking shortly after, maybe co-incidence or maybe the ceramic seal wasn't compatible with the green-who knows?. So the extra cost ,at least in my case, is somewhat offset by the piece of mind that I'm not mixing anything that's not compatible..
  21. Great diagram- I was thinking of going a route similar to this, I knew a relay was the only way to go, but I wasn't sure how much current it took to trigger the relay coil. 500ma isn't much so not too worried about what sort of surplus capacity the circuit had without risking damage to whatever controls it..Thanks! Nice Avatar too:thumbup2:
  22. Where do you find the "G05 HOAT" coolant anyway? I gave up finding it where I live and just went to the dealer to pick some up. The service manager had never heard of HOAT,after I explained three times (including spelling it out) :pant:I gave up and just asked for whatever coolant is proper for a 06 Dodge with Cummins..All I got was "Oh you mean the red":thumbup2: 24$ for a gallon....yikes....
  23. Thanks for the info- thats a great idea to putting a indicator light in to show when the electric pump kicks in!
  24. From reading this, I'm assuming you left the OEM pump as is, and then plumbed in the mechanical after it? Did you leave the factory lift pump "powered up", or pull the fuse and let the mechanical pump just pull fuel through it ? I'm all stock, but upgrading the fuel supply appears to be one of the first things I should do.. Really like the idea of a mechanical pump, but from what I'm reading the belt life leaves a bit to be desired?
  25. Great Idea. I have a light thats broke too-gonna give this a try!
