Quick Questions
not sure but i think its like 2800. and it defeuls. as for boost without a fooler or programmer i think you'll see like 20-23 PSI is all it will let it build. again I'm not positive on those numbers but i'm close. if it were me and doing WOT runs i would shift at or around 2500 mark. that way next gear is right in the sweet spot of the torque. i would think anyhow.

yes that seem normal. your temp shouldn't go much above the 200 mark., if it's fluctuating alot then you might do a radiator flush and a T-stat. change the oil puke bottle, Moparman has a mod here about a way he did his. the back side of the rad might be plugged up with oil.

OIl consumption issue
Yes, but my 02 does not. I'd imagine it doesn't run as clean as the new ones. Just thoughts

OIl consumption issue
a thought on oils and drain intervals. our trucks say 7500 mile drain intervals. but these were based on CI-4 oils not CJ-4 oils. so might we be hurting things with the longer run times then should be obtained from the good CI- oils. here in Flagstaff i'm unable to find CI-4 oils. they are all CJ-4 oils. hence why i drain at or around 5K mark. every study i can find and read pertain to the shortened drains of the CJ- oils from the CI- ones.

Carrier bearing? Is your rear drive line the two pice? I can't see sigs on mobile. Loose trams mount or bad motor mount? Just a thought...

A "mans" Chainsaw
The 440 are excellent saws, I had a 460 and a older 044 same 25" bar the 044 out cut the 460 hands down. All mine are "pro" models Around here a good 44 is about 350-500 pending bar n chains.

A "mans" Chainsaw
I have to agree there, I have a 066, 360 and 026, i user every one on most cuttin trips. from 16" bars to 42" gotta love the stihl, i'll never own another husky. its was the bigest POS i've ever ran.
-
Glowshift Guages
i would get the mechanical if i did it over again. I have not had a single problem with my MaxTow however. i didn't pay much for them. save for some good ones if you can.

A "mans" Chainsaw
i'll stick to my stihls. but those are cool, fastest saw i ever saw was a feller, or maybe the processor, the but saw and top saw were crazy fast.

Complete Fuild Change....
might want to keep the edge turned down till the trans is built to handle it.

something wrong with my truck?
Aside from this getting off my original questions. I live on or in a mountain town, no matter where I go there is hills involved, I drop down to get home, then have a 7 mile climb to get back to town. Today i went on a 74 mile round trip, truck got 21 going and 16 headed home. I took my brakes apart lubed everything, rotated the tires, put edge on 5x3 as 5x5 was to aggressive, it surged with the cruise on. Next I'm going to look for new rims as the ones i have now stick out about 1 1/2 inches or there abouts. Running on flat ground I run 6-10 psi boost and about 700-760 egt's if down hill I'll get 3-4 psi and 560-660 egt's. My speedo is 3% off. So I'll recalculate my mileage in a few days before my race that is 200 + miles away. I'll have only one bike in and some gear and the kids. Not gonna take the 5er this time. Gonna make the wife drive my dead *** home after the race. I do have a smarty I'll be putting on the market. And looking for either body parts or injectors. Thank every one of you for the awesome information you've provided.

something wrong with my truck?
I can't quote on my phone, but you said you run 60 at 0-1 psi boost. My truck does not and would not, my dads 00 power stroke does. I'm remove front driveline, I think my rear dif has issues. But I don't have to tools to rebuilt. All new fluids in everything.

something wrong with my truck?
I try to stay at 6 psi and under. Even still my egt's are above 600 usually 7??. As for brakes dragging, they are all brand new, rotors pads refurbished my calipers, greased sliders. They do not drag far as I can tell. Tires are at 50, have been sense I got the truck. I've had two alignments. Both shops say I need new parts, even the new parts are bad lol. So I'm unsure about that, it drives strait doesn't pull, even tread wear. So I put my edge on 5, well it's hot unlocked so I dunno what that changes, and scan gauge said I got 19 driving home overhead said 23. Some questions about timing. How much does the edge add vs the smarty? I know on a gas Chevy 350 I can run more living at high altitude. I used to run 15 deg. Would the same be true from a diesel? Couldn't i run more living at higher altitude then sea level. By running more j would run smarty on 3 and edge on something. What does to much timing do to these? Same as a gasser? Will it ping or knock under heady load or high boost? I could take my turnbuckle off and dial back the edge. Just kinda thinking out loud here.

Mike where do you run your edge? Mine is 3. No smarty at this time.
-
something wrong with my truck?
It was getting 18+ with these tires. I'm try some 245's. See what that gets me.
-
something wrong with my truck?
what i think is it's so aggressive on the low end acceleration, so it's tries to accelerate to fast which makes it surge. like speed up Oh to much, let off, nope speed back up oops to much let off. kinda how i see. it.

something wrong with my truck?
It's my wife's idea, I might agree, paid 10k for truck, put edge, gauges, tires, whole new steering system, 3100 trans rebuild. She's done, doesnt want to spend more money on it. Yes it runs and drives great, but at 14-16 mpg's without towing, not the 18-21 I was getting. When it was running good it could get 14 towing my 5th wheel. It doesn't run bad now, just bad mpg's. I did notice slot of metal shavings in the oil when j did my axle oil seal today, looked like gold fleks in the oil. Might take truck back to stock, no edge, no smarty, no 285/75/16's. If that doesn't help then it's gone.
-
something wrong with my truck?
I agree. towing trailers might play a role. but there is something wrong. i used to get 18 on a regular basis. with out even trying. now i get 14 and have to try very hard to get 16. so i'ma have to find out what it is soon or ima sell it. Just saw this mornin i have a driver rear axle seal leaking. i'[ll get that fixed soon. maybe the oil was messing up the brake pads or something.

something wrong with my truck?
Level 5 Made my cruze control surge. I live at 7000 ft maybe that is messin with these programers. Wife says trade it in on new one.

something wrong with my truck?
Scan gauge said 110 ish I think. I know if was over 100, outside air was in the 60's. I stayed around 70 mph. It's got me baffled. Drove fine not clouds of smoke, lotsa power.
-
something wrong with my truck?
Well something's up, did 130 mike round trip today with 2 dirt bikes in the back and averages 12 mpg. The same trip used to net me 17-18. I'm going to unplug the edge, reprogram my smarty and see what I get. Cuz this ain't cool! You can See when I mpg's dropped.
-
something wrong with my truck?
Thanks, I'm doing a test, for mpg's, the smarty has been removed and I'm using just my edge. For three tanks. Then ima try just the smarty, I only ever ran it on 3. See what one works better. Then I'll sell the other. My edge has hotunlock too. When i sell one I'll buy injectors.

Big Buddy Heater
Ceramic is the catalysis. That's what turns carbon dioxide into well h2o. In turn making it ok to be used indoors. Se as the catalytic converters on cars. Ever see water running out the tail pipe.
