  1. i have a theory. and it is just that. a theory. the gunk in the oil keeps the seals from doing their job so it leaked down into the cylinders in which you saw smoke. the new oil nice n clean of carbon and other gunk. left the seals to do their job. i state this knowing my 93 22RE develops a rather massive oil leak after about 4500 miles on the oil. i can change the oil to reg dyno valvoline 10-30 and the leak all but stops. yes it's is weird. weird in deed. but it's still the fact of the matter. dirty oil lets seals not seal.
  2. do you tow much and drive dirt roads? i'm looking into hercules and or the cooper at3, as they are both made by cooper. i know the Goodyears i have now are about shot in under 30K . I did notice the dirtroads kill these tires. i'm not happy with the way these wore out. i love the ride and lack of noise, but damn 35K and they are not rain or snow worthy.
  3. Maybe I miss spoke, all option at default settings.
  4. thanks for the info. tonight i reprogrammed to SW3, all options at stock, towed the trailer 17 miles. all seemed fine. boost was 22.5 at it's highest then stayed around 13 on level ground. i need gauges. thanks again.
  5. i don't know if they have improved over the years but in my jeep TJ. i had ARB;s the selectable open or locked was nice. but they leak really easy. which made my compressor cycle a lot. i replaced the air seal 4 times on mine. i upgraded to a york onboard air compressor, (converted ford AC pump) and a 2 gal tank. it would run power tools. was way better and quieter then DC pumps. just remember. stop then lock. not while moving or spinning tires.
  6. Thank you kindly for the advise. As per my other posts, in no where close to hurting this trans. I do drive with an egg under my foot, but I also don't think I'm getting the full use of the Sw7 as I get very little performance gain from the smarty regardless of settings used. Thanks again.
  7. so as per some advise i've had here n there., i'm runing my smarty at Revo SW7 Timing 2, Torque 3, Rail Pressure 2, on to my questions.. it has the POD. i like to tow my 5er 12K do i have to reflash or can i use the pod to say 50% or 75%.? i do NOT have gauges. last weekend i took the 5er out for coues deer hunting, but i reflashed to stock software to keep engine safe., would using the POD let me keep it on SW7? thoughts please. Thanks.
  8. would a temp gun at each exhaust port tell the dead cylinder?
  9. i guess not everything get better with age. sounds like a fun project awaits you.
  10. awesome times!!! i to have two 6V and made it 6 days with ease. i do have a built in generator and now a solar panel. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Solar-Panel-PV-100-Watt-Bundle-Kit-Poly-100W-Watts-Off-Grid-12v-RV-Boat-RV-Home-/301339751896?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item46293fb5d8 but i didn't need the run the gen for the 6 day out and still watched the news and listened to radio weather reports. congrats on the making memories.
  11. how are you towing it? are you lifting the front onto a dolly? if so then remove rear prop shaft, else, what everyone else stated....
  12. if you need the high pressure to reach far up the log wall you can always take the tip out pull the trigger, it'll suck soap up, then reinstall tip. the soap that is in the line, 20-50-100 feet of hose, will then be high pressure. till the clean water pushes through. then repete.
  13. i have the cooper at3 on my toyota, love them thus far. the Nittos are made by toyo so i'd expect similar wear results. my truck has goodyear wrenglers and thus far im not happy about the wear. i think it's been to fast. i'll be buying toyos, or BFG A/T's, or the coopers when it's time.
  14. Flagman. you might look into watco oil instead of the linseed oil and thinner mix. the Watco it much better oil and can be made to shine or be dull. i've used it many time on my long bows with yes real wooden arrows. i know the linseed oil was a rage years past for decks and old wagons. but mind you this, it offer very little if any UV protection. Woods oil is a great preservative. holds up well on the log homes around here. penofine is another good one. if you want to keep the natural look of the wood and no colorant. as i'm sure you know only the railroad is aloud to poison the earth with creosote oil. it was the best around. kept the horses from cribbing. and the pole barns from rotting. now just used used motor oil.
  15. 1. i'll take the toyota in the background off your hands. 2. the spin on filter, oil? fuel?
  16. Just a note... never put solvent soaked cloths, rags or tissue in a closed container... they can spontaineously combust... Recommendations are to spread rags etc out single thickness & let the solvent evaporate. laying them out is what will make them spontaneously combust. what you should do is soak them in a pail of water and seal the lid on it. at MINIMUM soak them in water. ive seen many new "painters" driving down the road with the back of their truck smoking from rags not disposed of correctly. i've been professional painter for the better part of 15 years. never once have i had them light up. but i've sure seen others lay them out on the deck or ground and watch them start smoldering.
  17. i to have been looking into the jeep thing for some time.. i 've found one... http://flagstaff.craigslist.org/rvd/4673941658.html i'm test drive it tomorrow. makes me wonder., do they make deletes for chips for them?
  18. to see if my CP3 is taking a dump. or why i'm down on power.
  19. whilest i was helping my dad (09 duramax owner) search for things for his truck we found. http://www.kennedydiesel.com/detail.cfm?ID=399 after searcing more i find LOTS of chevy guys love this lift pump... why not in the cummins world? enlighten me.
  20. i have an early 04. no efi live for us. any other options. scan gauge doesnt' show any rail pressure.
  21. i see people talking about logging data from the OBD2 and watch the requested rail pressure and the given one. what type of scanner would i need for this? can i go buy one. as we all know the scangauge2 does not. is there a scanner i could afford or doe sit have to be one of the shop style ones. thoughts are welcome. thank you.
  22. I have some "mountain man" ones that were made for my foot 20 or so years ago. They are starting to show their age. Granted I don't use them but a few times a year. Amazingly comfortable though. These are elk, cow and deer hide. Someone offered to make some new soles from horse once, I was to broke at the time to be able to.
  23. here in northern AZ the majority of the trucks selling fire wood are Mexicans. the one that lives 2 streets over made 140K last year. that's some cash for selling firewood. he pays the saw man 50$ and the splitter stacker 30 per load. each truck holds 2 cord. average sail price is around 2-350 per truck pending if it's juniper, aspen, oak. a truck of oak is 450. this could work.... http://prescott.craigslist.org/for/4655483066.html
  24. and here i get $1000 i buy gold or silver. stocks are based on a fiat money and backed by a promise. gold is tangible.
