  1. What if you somehow by accident got a piece of dirt or any debris under the sealing washer of the injector it can let combustion gas into the crank case. also causing a the smoke and possibly a slight miss.
  2. i think it's a cracked piston as stated before, or maybe crack elsewhere.
  3. would love to fallow you around some mnts some day.
  4. isn't that a country song.?
  5. yes it has to be installed in the truck.
  6. the dog idea is a great idea, except around here in AZ people are to damn nosy and call the cops if your animal is untended on or in your vehicle. even here in Flag at 7000 ft where we don't have the heat of the Phoenix valley people still do. i wish they would just leave well enough alone. mind there own damn business. had my dog impounded, they took him out of the back of my truck, were he had water and was parked in the shade. tried to charge me with animal cruelty, vicious animal at large, (boxer). and was telling me they were going to arrest me. long story shortened, i had to pay 300$ for the dog jail time, 200 for the court fees, when no charges were ever filed against me. these gestapo pigs need to..... i hate cops. Same with the liberal pricks that called the cops in the first place.
  7. try pouring ice water onto the top of the VP. when it's hot. see if it'll start and run fine for a while.
  8. when my dad truck was stolen, they drug it onto a flatbed tow truck. took it somewhere else and got it running, it was an 06 duramax LTZ. not a single working light bulb was left when they found the truck. the edge and all the add on goodies were still there. it was beat to hell. found in a mine shaft after it quit. they put 4800 miles on it in week. if they have the time and want the truck they'll get it. end of story. they'll diagnose it till it fires up.
  9. if they have enough time with the truck they;'ll get it working. i have had two family members get their trucks stolen in Phoenix AZ. both truck turned into drug running trucks, they bust every light out and drive with night vision. my dad pulled the relay to run his 06 duramax, my sisters has a jumper wire bypassing her 400$ alarm. both were sitting for only 2 hours.
  10. why are they all turned 90 deg? odd....
  11. I'm thinking slight bent connecting rod. Not getting enough compression, it's still firing, but not as strong as the rest, makes it seem like a miss.
  12. who makes the OEM one? i know the G80 is what comes in the Chevy's from the factory, my dad has an 09 Duramax with it in it. it sure is nice compared to my open. i've found a rebuild G80 for 500. i think i can install it if i can find a case spreader. thanks again.
  13. so searching i've found several GM posi or G80 lockers for the GM 11.5 rear axle. well i think my 04 has this same axle. would this locker work?? i've not been able to find any advertisement tell me that it'll work in GM or Ram applications. anyone here know? right now i have an open in the front and rear. so even in 4x4 i have 2 wd. i'd like at least 3. i hate having to use 4wd on the slightest of slippery roads.
  14. sorry to bring up an old thread. but i have an 04, and from what i'm reading can i just get http://www.oreillyauto.com/site/c/detail/MOO0/K80777/03924.oap?year=2004&make=Dodge&model=Ram%2B2500&vi=1424641&ck=Search_03924_1424641_3015&pt=03924&ppt=C0106 and or http://www.napaonline.com/Catalog/CatalogItemDetail.aspx/Track-Bar-Bushing-Front-Susp/_/R-NCP2749352_0318413257 to freshin up mine?
  15. I'm interested in these cameras, the police are out of control. Here in AZ they are very abusive on ones civil liberties. Camera links?
  16. if you polish them with 2000 sandpaper or just rubbing compound. the haze will go away, then a coat of clear will do wonders. it's the UV that turns them yellow. the clear has UV inhibitors that will detour the yellowing for a while. and it's a lot cheaper.

  18. i got some from ebay that were power heated. worked great look like factory. they didn't have the movement range of factory but worked great nuntheless. i think they were 189. n some change.
  19. i'm not sure about the changing over to a newer style. but when i had my 02 i polished them nice n shiny then clear coated them with a rattle can. worked great for the remainder i had the truck over a year or so. i want to say it was some gloss finish clear coat paint from napa.
  20. It boggles my brain, we have 36 plow trucks, 5 Bobcats, three snow pushers, a loader. and never have I welded to the frame. Never has a frame broke, never has a bolt broke. Yet people still don't want to listen. Maybe it's my age, or the verbiage I use. http://flagstaffsnowremoval.com
  21. not a good idea to weld on a frame, it add tensile to the frame and will crack next to the weld. of all the plow trucks i ran, never once did i weld, and never had a issue with factory install options, we used Mayer plows though. you might get away with stitch welding, and fish plating over. i just never seen a welded on plow bracket not crack the frame next to the weld.
  22. i'd have to vote for the Wells Cargo. had one for YEARS!! was the best trailer i ever had. we had a wedge nose with access door, hauled snow mobiles and or quads, a car or two, moved several times with it. was light for the size. had 3 roof vents. i wired it so it could be run with radio lights from house or generator. never leaked. yup my vote is for a Wells Cargo.

  24. Without rereading the last 10 or so pages, did you narrow this down to one cylinder?
