  1. i know here Sams club stops my at 100$ and same card a Maverick well. i've not hit the cut off there. well over 150$. i saw it's the pump. or fueling stations.
  2. been in the 80's here. i need to fix the ac on my work truck toyota 22re. but i dunno if replacing the clutch will open the system.? still charged with r12.
  3. it's sad how the "engineers" that design the vehicle never have to work on them. my friend here in Flag just replaced his CP3. had to take entire front of engine apart for the most part. he was not happy about where they put it. new one ready to go in. sure glad it wasn't my truck.
  4. that was going to be my last resort option. i was going to get some LONG bolts and tie the two together. seeing's how im kinda OCD. i wanted it like dodge designed it. good thought though. thanks.
  5. Ok my Fellow Dodge enthusiasts. after 2 hours and 5 stops later i have the parts. first the local dodge dealership couldnt find what i was looking for. he searched and searched the computer and could never find them. second stop was Napa. they knew what it was i was after but had none in stock and could order them of $5.17 each. third stop was the local body shop, the best in town. he know what i was after but had none. not even some old ones around. fourth stop. local auto paint supplier. Auto Paint Plus. Bingo!!! found them. he had several. i ended up with 2 1/4x20 cargo nuts. then fifth stop was the local hardware store for the proper bolts. 2" 1/4x20. zinc coated. here is a bolt not zinc coated but looks similar. and old cargo nut and old bolt. new cargo nuts as well. the idea is the expand when you tighten them down. kinda the same way a rivet does. holds the whole thing on rather nicely. they are cargo nuts because they are water tight, and used alot for cargo or roof racks.
  6. only one night on batteries? my camping week i went 5 days on battery alone. this was with the heater running at night. all the inside lights when we were inside and the flood light for cooking outside. my battery setup is kinda different though. i run 2 6V. i'm not sure what they are rated at. but i know after 5 days, i had plenty of battery left. i did however find out that my inverter or converter... the fan no longer works. when i started my onboard onan 4000 gen it only charges for about 15 min then kicks on and off. i'm thinking it's overheating...
  7. looks sweet. long as you kept it slow i wouldn't fret. where about are you camping?
  8. thank you for the help guys. my support is boxed. no way to get behind it for a clip. however. after 5-6 hours off n on searching i've found it.!!! http://www.clipsandfasteners.com/Tubular_Nut_Nylon_For_3_16_Stud_p/a13966.htm it's kinda like a rivet. when you tighten the bolt it expands behind the metal. so off to the parts store or stealership we go. again Thank you ALL for the help.
  9. thanks you for your time but there is no place to slid any clip onto the support.. when i make it back to the truck i'll take more indepth pictures and that might help explain my conundrum.
  10. the first two are the passenger side the last is drivers side. the one bolt is there, but no clip? where do i get said clip and how to get it into the support?
  11. so after my long trip i was doing my inspection and noticed that i lost two bolts. the ones that hold the intercooler onto the top radiator support. then from looking inside,, there are no nuts... for said bolts to thread into... help.... maybe one LONG bold from the radiator side all the way through? with a nert? anyone have or know of a parts diagram i can look at to retrieve the parts i need....? without headed to the stealership? thanks again guys!!!
  12. An update to the trip. Truck and trailer did great.!! i was unable to get it weighed in before leaving. however headed up from flag to Cortez CO. i ran about 68, but never over 70. i averaged 9 mpg. i kept in in OD on the flats then pushed TowHaul for the hills. i never seemed to be grunting to pull the load. i filled the water tank 125 gal and fuel tank 40 gal in the trailer and also filled the truck 30 Gal. we left Maverick in cortez and headed to Dalores then up to Rico. the truck never missed a beat. after settin up camp in the torrential down pour. witha kinda almost level trailer, we all crashed out. The next day was all fishing and driving around. Monday we took the loop from Rico, we camped 4-5 miles south of Rico, up to Telluride then over to Placerville, then Ridgway, down to Ouray, then Silverton, durango , Mancos then Dalores then back to camp. and i gotta say what a awesome awesome drive. the goast town of Alta lakes was neat as heck. good fishin too. Tuesday we headed to La Plata canyon. up to the notch. it's in the range of 13K truck never missed a lick. although. i will tell you.. trying to turn around a 4 door long bed truck up there took about 60 back and forth movements. it was TIGHT!!!!! Wednesday we took the loop just north of rico to Dunton. once you cross the bridge, stop n fish. past the now privet town of dunton we made it back down the mountain and back to camp. Thursday was fishing and hot springs. and we drove home today. The BHAF in my truck is because the stock air box was broken and i fear was not creating a good seal.
  13. With my new to me truck and used a few time on short trips 5er toy hauler. the truck 04 qclb is as stock as it gets aside form a BHAF, and a cat 2um fuel filter. no gauges aside from my scangauge 2. the fiver is a 33' weekend warrior, it can handle 125Gal of water but i'm only headed up with about 25 or so. i plan on getting more when i get closer to my destination. it will have a Yamaha Rhino, a medium stihl 360 chainsaw, 40 gal gas in it's fuel station. cloths and sleeping atire for a family of 4+ 1 dog. awe yes the destination... i live in Flagstaff AZ, i'm headed to Colorado maybe into Rico or La Plata canyon somewheres wife wants to go to Ouray. as some of you might well know the hills will be LONG!! i'm thinking about just trying to keep a speed of 55-60 when the road permits such speeds safely. accrose the Reservation on flat ground i think i should be able to cruze at 65-70 in OD. but again, i'm not sure. i've only towed it like 15 miles a few times. back on point. anything i should be awair of on the newer truck form my older 02? oil has 2400 or so miles on it. still looks great. tires are at 65LB. superglide has been pinned forward. no capture plate used. i have extra fuel filters for both locations. the baldwin for the stock canister and a LF1000 fot the under truck one. have extra engine oil but its never used a drop. gal of 2 cycle. thoughts?? thank you. p.s. if this is the wrong place for this post please move it and tell me where it was moved to.
  14. Thank you for the info, I check the threads and the bolts are good not bent or cross threaded. Took sliders apart re greased them. New pads, didn't bother turning the rotors. Took those and more pics to the shop. Tried to explain I did want anyone to loose their job, just maybe more supervision or training. Needless to say the poor kid was fired. I felt bad, I know I had the rest of the brakes working so I don't think my saftey was at risk, but still. Some pride in workmanship. At that, it doesn't look like those brake pads are only a month old to me. I informed the shop manager that I would make sure to tell 10 people to never do business there. He refunded me the money and paied for the new pads I put on. Was a good deed on his part. He also offered to change my dif fluid and t-case for half price. It's tempting. But again... I just don't know.. Thanks agin yall.
  15. so after having my truck servised 3 weeks ago, getting ready for a week long vaca to Colorado, i got new brakes and rotated tires. everyting else check out good. yesterday i was driving next to a rather quiet car and head a grinding noise, i'm thinking wow Mr. you need to get your car looked at, then today, driving next to a guard rail. i hear this grinding noise, i'm headed for home. i take my rear tires off looking for the noise maker and find. after removinfg the brakes and doing further inspection i get needless to say, i'll never trust another soul to work on my truck. i usually do 98% of the work myself, i was booked up and had no time, so i paid someone else to do it for me. never again, not unless i'm unable to turn wrenches and or i am able to watch their every move. food for thought. have a most exelent weekend!!!
  16. I left the relay in place, on the switch I had to wire in a diod not sure the value maybe 33k or I can't remember. On the ground side, do the ground wire to the switch had a diod, then the other pole from switch was strait to the wire on the plug behind the air box, PIN number I can't remember. When I'm not on my phone I'll see if I can find the write up i fallowed.
  17. Lemme see if i got this right. You spent 2700 on rims n tires that should last 100k. I get 60+ out of my tires. At 980$ for 4 of them I get 120k for less then yours. The added load capability is nice though. I couldn't justify the the expense. But to each his own. I do like the looks of them though. Maybe some takeoffs from the newer trucks. But to outright buy them I could not.

  19. If you want to pull at those speeds I would look into the lockup switch. That should do all you want. It'll lock the TC at almost any speed. It helped me when towing. I tow a 15k 5er in drive with the switch it's awesome at helping egt's, trans temp. It's a simple 15 min install. Run a ground wire to a switch, then other pole of switch to the wiring harness behind the air box, I'm sorry j don't have the pin or exact wire. But it's simple.
  20. this is what i did, as my 02 had pump intank. also did this on my 04. http://www.cumminscatfuelfilter.com/index.html
  21. you hit OD and lock at around 47. then yes your boost will fall off and egt's climb. it's doing what all of them do. there is a mod or toggle switch you can wire into the mix and make your own lock up switch. but i'm not so sure this si what your after. to hold the gears longer push foot further to floor. i'm not sure if you can tighten the kickdown cable or TV cable some call it. that might get you to hold more pressure and hold a gear longer.
  22. welcome aboard! i'm an AZ person myself. a wee bit further north though, in Flagstaff here.
  23. i'm not afraid of the VP44 its cheep compared to a bad CR where it melts down the engine. and it's cheaper to work on. i've been looking for a good long bed Vp truck. none yet that pass my requirements. my sig stats that i have both pumps, sorry i wasn't clearer on that. as for adjusting the PSI i have no idea how to go about that. so i'm not gonna worry about it. I don't tow very often, a few times a year at most. so i'm not scared of an auto. at the right price point. i'll most likely find a built one or build the next one. Thanks for all the input and thoughts on the matter. Sorry if i come off rude. i try not to but know no other way to express my discontent with situations. Thanks again.
  24. 02 has 158, n some change. don't get me wrong. it runs awesome! i LOVE my truck. i have the superglide slider hitch, but my TT will rub the cab is i turn to sharp, i'll have to rebuild both differentials if i am to keep it.
