Teardown and Rebuild
I don't have one... gotta see what the funds look like after getting the damage repaired. I will likely be going with a 75/83/1.1. Should spool quickly and provide plenty of flow for up to 700, which I'll never go past.

Teardown and Rebuild
Well the kit made of stainless is 1700, then the intake horn is 250, then the alternator bracket and thermostat housing are more, so it's probably around 2100+ with shipping. I picked it up for 1300 shipped. Vais, I'm going to keep the one in my signature.

VP Swap
Nope, VP is good!

VP Swap
Thanks Nick. I appreciate you trying for me. I am taking it in for body work next weekend and I'm in a time crunch. If this thing is shot I'd like to order one while it's out of commission.

VP Swap
Can I swap a HO vp with my SO vp for testing purposes or is it going to make mine run goofy with the HO in it?

Bent Steering
Maybe it's just the picture?? Mine seems bent backwards toward the diff

Bent Steering
No money for that yet! Off topic, but what length is your FTE resonator?

Want Cummins in Dodge Van anybody done it
Or you could swap a wrecked truck cab with a good drivetrain for a good van body?? Then you just have to play with wires.

Bent Steering
So I think my front steering got bent in the accident. As you can see in one of the pictures the tie rod coming from the drivers side is hitting the front differential when the wheels are turned. I tried to get a picture of the shape but I'm not sure what the factory bends look like. Either way the insurance is going to replace it because the alignment is messed up and it's hitting the cover. I posted a link to the updated steering below, which will work on 01 & 02 models. Does anyone here have experience with the update? http://www.factorymoparparts.com/52122362af.html (Oil spots are NOT mine btw)

VP died last night
Good place to get the VP! Sounds like you found the culprit. Hopefully the noise didn't hurt anything else!

Teardown and Rebuild
That's correct. I set the cruise and glance over at the fuel pressure now and then. Otherwise nothing to worry about!

VP died last night
Well that sucks.... sounds like it's been on its last leg for a while. As mike said alternator could be the source of the issue.

Teardown and Rebuild
I'm not sure if I really understand your questions.... but I'll try. If I'm way off just ask in a different way and I'll do my best. So cruising stock loaded / unloaded 90mph or 60mph the egts were low. Even wit the smarty I could not top 1200deg no matter what I did. So to answer your first question I could maintain really any speed I wanted. Now with all of the goodies I have I can still cruise at any speed and not have to worry about temps. Even accelerating from 0-100 with the smarty at WOT I can't break 1200deg, but it gets there MUCH faster than stock. With the TST on is a completely different story. But what I feel is safe for the truck is cruising about 85. The engine can take much faster / higher rpms, but the suspention and steering systems I feel aren't safe much faster than that. The rebuild hasn't changed much speed wise, it just gives the truck more power through the rpm range.

Flex plates
Not bad at all once the flex plate is out of the way. You need to know if a sleeve is needed or not though....

Oil
You can read in here for days http://www.bobistheoilguy.com/forums/ubbthreads.php/forums/52/1/Passenger_Car_Motor_Oil_(PCMO) Personally I'd stick with the amsoil. Some good info in here too. http://forum.mopar1973man.com/index.php?/topic/10426-new-cj-4-oils-in-older-flat-tappet-engine/

Teardown and Rebuild
It was sad to see so much oil on an otherwise spotless engine and transmission!! It's still covered today.... back to the car wash.

Teardown and Rebuild
Haha my reaction was terrible! First time I'd ever been to the track though. No boosted launch....4wd @ 2500rpm then let out on the clutch hard for the left one. 18-1900 on the right one. 2wd didn't turn out so well..... So my fun at the track came at an expense.... I had shoved a smaller hose inside my breather tube so that I could route it a different way, and that smaller hose was way too small. It blew out the tappet cover seal, and finally finished itself off today. I came out of a store to BIG puddles on the ground , and the whole underside was coated in oil. I filled it up and got home asap. It leaked about a quart in 20 miles.... So I spent my night fixing that. It's always something! I got a longer hose for the tappet cover breather and opened back up the front cover breather.

Starter Hung,
Glad you got it fixed up!

Teardown and Rebuild
Got the quote today. Right at $3,000 to put it back together. On a lighter note I took it to Bandimere Speedway. I was in the right lane both times, and the guy in the left had a 2014 Mega cab that was deleted and had EFI. Not too bad for a college kid's tow truck / DD

Teardown and Rebuild
That sounds horrible! I haven't hit anyone at school, and I haven't been hit by another student yet. I'm sure they will use new parts.... I don't have time to do this one myself. Luckily the guy who painted the truck works at a dealership (Body and sometimes paint) and I trust him with it so I should be okay. I might have to take you up on the bumper offer.... I'm not buying a new one though. She's getting a replacement this time!

intercooler hoses
Cheap as in 20 bucks... like silliconeintakes.com. I'm sure you'd be just fine with the vpmax. I think mike has some that he got from Vulcan performance for a good price. They also sponsor the site so I would consider them.
