  1. Ya, I stumbled across another thread on almost the same subject, after the fact. Different year truck is all I think.
  2. Oh that's old. 400 big cam? N14 maybe? I don't own it either but I have to drive it every day. It's got one of those CAT smog motors in it. We've had a ton of problems with it. The CAT Bmodel, E model and C15 were all great engines but the one I got is the one that cost millions and millions to develop and never worked right. That's the engine that ran CAT out of the class 8 market.
  3. Oh well. So I've got more tuner than I need and It cost me 200 bucks more than I needed to spend. I guess in the worlds bigger picture that's not such a big deal. I want to thank everyone for their input. I'm sure I'll be asking for more.
  4. To late for that. It will be here tomorrow. What's wrong with the turbo?
  5. Here's one of mine And here's the other I win. LOL
  6. I do have a single disk HD clutch. I've also gone with the 5 micron Baldwin filter recommended by AH64.
  7. I just ordered the SO6. I'm thinking it will do whatever I need now or in the future. Hopefully I made the right decision. Can I even run the 160 hp setting or will that melt the pistons down? Can I even get enough fuel with the stock pumps to run that setting?
  8. So the JR does timing also?
  9. Yes I'm looking for better MPG. And better power. So the more I check into this the SO6 looks like the way to go. So I'm curious. What is a safe HP number to run with a timing adjust on a truck that is pretty much stock? HD single plate clutch. Flowmaster muffler. Stock intake except for an airraid intake tube. Stock fuel pumps. Stock injectors.
  10. So it's having a problem while your moving? My experience is if your moving the stearing will work fine. Maybe moan or groan if you are going slow, but highway speeds it works fine. Sounds like you've broke, bent, or bound something.
  11. I'd have to partially agree with him. The question is why. My answer is to control the people.
  12. Sounds like the pump is getting weak. Does it stearin fine going down the road?
  13. 2to1. Do you think you could get better mileage with a timing adjust?
  14. I've been working on my roof the past 2 weekends. Have to replace some wood. I'm taking it slow. One reason is I don't know what I'm doing, the other reason is last weekend I hurt my hands and I have to keep taking breaks to rest them. I don't know what's wrong. I have no grip strength and they hurt. Have to keep taking Advil for them. The last reason is its 98 degrees out there and I have to keep cooling down. Whew. It's coming along though. I have a couple more support woods to shim up and I'll be ready to put on a new section of plywood. Hope your back gets to feeling better. Hmmm, maybe I should have started my own thread. LOL. Back to our regularly scheduled topic.
  15. Hypermilers piss me off. It's fine when they are doing a test like they did, but when they are just clowns holding up traffic it's a different story. Purposely irritating people, and knowing your purposely irritating people is not cool. Self centered selfish people.
  16. UHaul doesn't rent anything that can't be towed with a half ton. Tell em to shut up and rent you the trailer. Ya, I know I'm a little late chiming in. LOL.
  17. Mine are all there. You are missing 2 aren't you? Maybe not. I see 2 holes on top of lower wall. I'll have to go out and count mine later. LOL
  18. I always liked the 80-86 fords. Good luck with the wiring. Found out about a new kind of butt connector from a CAT guru who was tracing down some internal wiring probs on the big truck I drive. He said they have glue in them and when you take the mini torch to them they seal up real good. Said he got them at Wally World. They work inside the valve covers of a big cat and keep the oil out and resist vibration so I don't know why they wouldn't keep out water and moisture.
  19. Looks like it was a good trip. Our TTs floorplans are almost identical. I have a table instead of booth and the microwave is above the stove. Do you think the wall between the booth and couch is a load bearing wall? If so do you think the missing 2 spindles will compromise the strength?
  20. Thanks for the clarification. So far 100% of the vote is going for the SO6. I've got a feeling, because of how technical the members of this forum are, that that trend will continue.
  21. By sr you mean the SO6? Since your a wrench I'd really appreciate hearing your thoughts as to why.
  22. I am wanting to boost my mileage. And I noticed the ability to change timing with the SO6. From what my research is telling me, that is a good thing. That is really my conundrum. As I understand it the jr doesn't change any timing, and if you really want the truck running right you need that timing change. Kind of like my bike. When I changed my intake and exhaust I got a programmer that only changed the fuel air mix. It was OK. But when I got the money I had SERT and dyno tune done. That changed timing also. Made a heck of a lot of difference as far as rideability went. The fueled made more power, but the SERT mad more power and the bike was smoother. I just don't want to get to crazy, so does the timing make that big of a difference?
  23. Arizona? Location of the worlds largest Ponderosa Pine forest. WORLDS largest.
  24. Why would you go JR.?
  25. So here is my truck the day I brought it home And here it is the next day. Needed a tool box. It's an 06 4x4 big horn with a manual trans. I have an air raid intake tube and a Flowmaster muffler. Other than that it's stock.
