  1. Installed mine the other day and your right, there not that easy to install are they!:banghead: I had to take about 3/4 of an inch off the drivers side boot, just seemed to long and if I put it up against the old one, it was easy to see it had to be shortened. One thing that made it wasier for me was I have the fenders and the front stripped off so i just took the bolts otu for the rad support and pulled it ahead a bit so I could get the boot started:thumbup2: Very anxious to get it back on the road because I haven't driven it yet getting full boost with my programmer:woot:
  2. Ok, I thought there was the 4X4 stickers on the side of the box as well. I notice the moulding you have on the doors for preventing door dents, is that an after market trim or factory? I ask because I was at the dealer yesterday and he never had a listing for it . You still have the stainless on the bottom too?
  3. Would you happen to have the factory decals on the box that say 4X4 and whatever else it may have been on there. I'm debating whether or not to decal it again and the guy doing the body and paint said he'd put original back on if it were his. would like t see some pics of the factory decals
  4. Doing a complete body job with new box, fenders , door, and hopefully soon my back bumper will be in.
  5. Looking kind of rough now, hpefully in a couple weeks i'll have some nice pics to show
  6. I may be interested in some to mirrors if it has some you wanna sell
  7. So while my truck is in the body shop i'm sitting back thinking of the things I want to fix or replace on it during this overhaul i'm doing on it. For the past 2 years i've had a psi gauge taped fast to the steering column with electical tape and if i'm dumping this kind of money into a body job, shouldn't I be able to spend some money and get some gauges? There lies the problem ,right now i'm running a Quadzilla XZT module and only gauge I have is fuel psi. I've been wondering if I should go with a 3 pillar set up of fuel, egt and boost, or should I ditch the XZT and buy an Adrenaline with pulse and get the gauges that way. I know, more money then the pillar set up, but I also get the power upgrade with the module. Then I look at the Edge with attitude, only that can't monitor fuel if I understand correctly. Wondering if either programmer will be more than my turbo will take (stock), wonder what other issues i'll have. In my head I kow what the smartest thing to do is..3 pillar and save my clutch and turbo, but i never said I was very smart! I notice the tailpipe is rotted off my truck too, I have a buddy that has a new aftermarket one I can buy for $25 (he went 4"), or I can upgrade to 4" too for about $300, which sounds nice and of course helps work a bit better most likely. Sigh.....to many options, not enough money, to hard to decide Any opinions from people running any of this stuff
  8. Is it hard to take the ring out, or hard to re install?
  9. So, don't get me wrong..i'm very grateful I am able to borrow a vehicle from my father while my truck is in the body shop, but what an agravation! 95 Subaru Legacy and I heard the brakes grinding so i figured i'd pick a set up on the way home from town and replace them. They asked at the parts shop if it's dual or single piston calipers ( I didn't know) so i said give me pads for both and i'll bring the wrong ones back. Got home, tore the front wheels off and took the old pads, opened a new box and wrong ones, so i got the other box and low and behold, some idiot was nice enough to buy pads and use them for a while, take them off and put them back in the box and return them, and those would of course be the ones I need. So I called the parts place, they sent me new ones up right away. Noticed my caliper was sticking a bit but I could get it to return so I put it all back together, started it and pulled ahead and the brake was locked on. Took the brakes apart and after hummin and hawin I poped the piston out and cleaned the seals and piston up and put it back together and still locked up when I tried moving it. I took the caliper apart three times (no parts places had one) because I figured i just wasn't getting it cleaned up enough. After the third time, I cracked open the brake line and it released, so i thought there, brake line must be collapesd. Ordered a brake line and put it on, still the same ($45 later) so looked back to the caliper. Called a junk yard and he had a good one for $10 so i drove 20 minutes to get it. I ended up havng to swap out the bracket because his car was newer, had to drive back up again for brake pads from him because we both never thought the pads off mine would be different then needed for the new bracket:banghead:. Came home from my second trip, put it all back together , started it and move ahead...YUP....still seized! So, I want to back up a bit and state that before i started all this I was wondering if it could be the hill hold feature this car has, but classic signs of caliper made me ignore that thought. In the end, it was the dam hill hold feature screwing up and holding the brake on, I unhooked the cable for it a bam...moves with ease. So about $70 later, I could've unhooked a cable and had it fixed, but I decided I guessI had nothing else to do for 4-5 hours in total so I'd messed with this thing. :cry:There's $70 I could've put in my truck too!
  10. Was a regualr cab :banghead:
  11. I'm thinking 97 . Maybe it's not worth the hassle to hook it up anyway, have to try to get a temp prob and hook that in to my harness and stuff, probably easier to stick my head out the window and see how cold it is driving along if I want the temperature
  12. Thanks for the info, i'll have to go back and see if that is still on the truck. Only other thing now is i'd be nervous as ol heck cutting my headliner to mount the console
  13. I was at a junkyard today looking for a grill for my truck and i spotted a 1997-1998 (guessing) Ram 2500 that had an overhead console with temp readout. I started tearing it apart and got the hole wiring harness and console. Anyone know if this will work in my 2002 ? I am hoping they used the same harness for things like this in all those trucks, my trucks in the bodyshop so i can't look at the plug connections. One thing it was missing or at least I couldn't find it..was the temp sensor , and I haevn't got a clue where it was or where it would even hook in to it, anyone help me with some info , and if I wasted my time tearing this out
  14. well, make sure you have some video of that dog of yours running around and we'll forgive you! Would love to see his face up close
  15. Actually, i was going to say how i like the sounds of your truck, and the exhaust brake.
  16. Yea, i been looking at a couple sites sellig this brand, prices are somewhat comparable and reviews are good, but i'm like you, why can they sell these for sucha cheap price and a dealer wants over $300 for a pair. I know, dealers are stealers, but thats a big price difference. Just trying to get some insight from people that have bought the cheap ones, Thanks for replying
  17. So you bought a set from this company ISX?
  18. Isn't that life The rich do what they want and make more and more money, when something goes wrong, the poorer people pay for it!
  19. Idk, i just thought that when you can buy a set of these of the internet for under $100, the price seemed to good to be true for a quality mirror when you compare to what other companies are selling them for, and especially the dealer
  20. So i'm almost certain i'm going to hear to good to be true, but anyone have any experience with these mirrors or this company? Looking at the manual tow mirrors for an 02 2500 which are cheaper than the ones for an 01 and under. I thought 97-02 2500 series all fit the same manual tow mirror? Are these mirrors junk? http://www.discountautomirrors.com/catalog/?N=1607+10105+4294962959&Nr=AND%28part:Mirror,brand:Kool%20Vue%29&Ns=price3|0
  21. Congratulations! Cute little guy (I assume due to the blue?). Haven't you got a Cummins hat for on him?

  23. Lol, I thought of that last night at work and called home and got the wife to go down and shove some rags in the intercooler inlet and outlet, sat overnight the other night without anything, hopefully nothing nested in it. I think for the sake of it, i'll put my old boots back on so i don't have to worry when i'm running it as much moving it, maybe wrap some good old handy duct tape around the splits in them so no crap gets sucked in when it's in the body shop for the next couple weeks. Thanks for the input everyone
  24. I have my boots that were torn taken off and waiting for new ones to get here, am I going to hurt anything starting and moving my truck in the yard without the boots on? Getting my truck redy to go for paint next week and need to move it in and out of my building and load it on the float, alot easier to drive it on if it wont hurt anything
