  1. No Edge tuner (just there as a monitor), less than 30k on a reman motor with NEW injectors and no bio-diesel...... that and the mileage changes in accordance of auto or semi lanes when purchased.
  2. I get it... but also why I posted here... trying to make sense of the results I'm experiencing. The 17mpg fills ups were regular Auto lane diesel...
  3. that is odd because bio generally gives me an MPG boost of about 1mpg and the engine runs smoother. B20 specificallly.... but THAT is not the issue... none of them have had bio. I honestly think it is winter blended fuel for the big rigs... my last fill up was auto lane and I can't wait to see if there is STILL a difference.
  4. So.. if you haven't checked it out... do... Android and Apple... That being said, do the fuel lanes for semi's have DIFFERENT diesel than the auto lanes? I've been using the APP and filling up at the SEMI lanes but have lost about 3mpg when I do... SEMI lanes gets me 15 mpg and auto lanes get me 18ish MPG.... WHERE I get the fuel is the only difference.. Comments?
  5. SO... I give up... I'm ordering @Tractorman 's pressure switch.... I got Edge's pressure sensor installed and it was all over the place... installed a cheap mechanical gauge at the pump and it pegged at 15+psi... so I'm pretty sure it isn't the pump... which is tuned at 13-14 psi (NEVER saw 15 or more out of it). I have picked up a new screen filter (haven't changed in a couple of years) and a new media filter for the OEM fuel filter.. I also did 'LoanATool' from Oreillys and will check the fuel pressure at the pump one last time...
  6. So.. they shipped it GROUND and took 7 days to get to me from Utah??? go figure... The part number is: p500-50-a-e4c and when it was available was a $5 part.... I'm going to go on and use the one I received for $90 +plus shipping and tax ($120).
  7. I can't complain, it lasted 15 years... REALLY curious why they are so secretive with the sensor though... Had to jump through multiple hoops to order one.
  8. Edge Performance Products is a PAIN to deal with... would NOT sell me a fuel pressure sensor without going through the whole trouble shooting process a 2nd TIME!!!!!! now I"m curious what is so special about this pressure sensor... @Tractorman I decided to go with their outrageously priced sensor because BOOST, EGT and Transmission temp were already running on my current configuration... Cost $120 after tax and shipping were added... I"m going to definitely check it out and see WHY I couldn't find a similar product for less...
  9. so my statement albeit in the right intent was technically incorrect? So would I be safe just knowing my fuel pressure dropped below 10 psi? Typically my fuel pressure runs between 13 and 16 psi... with a working guage.
  10. the over supply valve/over pressure valve or whatever you call it pops off at 14 psi... at 14 psi you get extra fuel flow to cool the pump.... at least that is what I've read and why my new VP44 came with a NEW OPValve... with specific instructions that it HAD to be installed or the pump would not be warrantied.
  11. IF I can customize the pressure alert, I would be fine with an alert bulb... I want to know my lift pump drops below 14 psi... I'd still have to have some way to check the pressure when setting it.
  12. SO...after 15 years, my fuel pressure sensor is dying. Called EDGE and they suggested a replacement sensor: 4000700 for $90. Not being able to 100% sure tell me it would work with the Attitude... Any suggestions on this? alternate sensors, alternate fuel pressure/EGT gauges? I am down to only using the Attitude to monitor these two things and would seriously consider changing to a 2 in one guage.... the JUICE module is apparently dead.

was this the Starlink outage I read about?
  14. as always, I get freaked out if my truck is "down" and opted for the fastest (most reliable) fix. This is why I try to be proactive about maintenance instead of reactive.
  15. 1000 miles and NO LOST OIL... I think this topic is closed. A couple of links I found for correct turbos for a 2000 24v HX35W with the "wing" on the turbo housing. no core, chinesum but supposed good quality. $390 https://www.truckac.com/dodge-turbocharger-oem-turbo-1700320068.html?utm_medium=paid&utm_source=fb&utm_id=120207010913090181&utm_content=120213922289420181&utm_term=120207010913100181&utm_campaign=120207010913090181&fbclid=IwY2xjawMZNDpleHRuA2FlbQEwAGFkaWQBqxovZbPXtQEe4-BkbF14A70v86KClfdYzyVudYQspR3tVEZ5wWFmTrhu82kPNv4xM5eY3i4_aem_7W_UyEZCgOTq2vUq5yejGQ Where I got mine as a reman.... Thoroughbred beat others on pricing due to the core having to be returned... they shipped me a core return box. $546 https://www.thoroughbreddiesel.com/h8350108r/ Hope this thread helps someone.
  16. Well there is a reason a new injector pump comes with a new over pressure valve. which I believe opens at 14psi... so in MY opinion maybe turn down your lift pump a bit... I have mine set to 15 or 16 psi. Not that I think this would affect the condition you described. But I have heard that 18+ makes for a hard start some times.
  17. Sadly I have nothing to "work" it with... it is back to daily driver status... I may hook onto the trailer and go pickup some firewood but even that isn't "working" it like I KNOW the truck likes. :) and the NOT WET status inside and down stream from the turbo is what most perplexed me... I was expecting "wet" as well.
  18. could the change in timing be WHY #5 blew through the cylinder? I just presumed the new injector pump was putting out way more pressure than the injector could handle.
  19. how many miles were on your injectors before you replaced the VP44? HOW fast is your motor turning over? I know you sort of answered this but I mean like faster than it "should"?? When I replaced my VP44 my injectors had (to my knowledge) 433k miles on them.... New pump, old injectors and I blew a hole through #5, still ran, 1 code, melted IAC sensor (that is what the code was for). Cummins (read it in a post, so don't quote me) suggests replacing injectors every 200k.... I"ve been told on forums that it should be every 100k miles.... JUST A THOUGHT... if you lost two cylinders it might not start at all and be SUPER easy to turn over.
  20. :) only 300 miles so not really put it to a test yet.... but I haven't noticed any more peppiness. But you have to remember, my turbo was creating boost... just sending oil along with it.... so I am seeing the same boost levels.... I don't expect much to change minus not consuming oil.
  21. 300 miles and oil holding steady, won't post again unless there is a drastic drop.
  22. other than the oil drain at the crankcase being "oily" I did not find any restrictions.... the top side was clean as could be.. even no residual oil from having drained.... I replaced and painted the metal at the bottom side JUST so I could see if there was ever build up again. I did remove the outlet casing JUST to see if I could see anything odd... and of course... nothing... I TRIED to remove the exhaust side and it was quite tight... to the point I didn't want to risk my core exchange by breaking something by beating on it too hard....I mean I KNOW I shouldn't have been able to break it... though you never really know.
  23. I would have LOVED to have done my own rebuild, I would have learned SO MUCH... but Rotomaster required it back as a core... OR their REMAN turbo would have cost an additional $200... Which is why I would if doing it again would have gone with the Chinesium Turbo with the "wing' for the waste gate actuator.... I am on the lookout for a cheap HX35w on FB Marketplace to I can do a rebuild.
  24. SO... both the HX35 and HX35W have internal wastegates.... I mean in the way I WOULD describe an internal wastegate shown in the photo.... but the HX35W has a "wing" on the outlet housing.... also in photo... and yes I will keep everyone updated on the oil consumption or lack there of.
  25. SO... new turbo installed, apparently (only a 100 miles in) I no longer am losing oil. A few things to note... NO ONE knows what the "w" is for on the HX35w, I"m calling it "W" for WING... because the HX35 has a bracket for the waste gate which won't work on our trucks... the true "W" does. After I ordered my Rotomaster Reman Stock Turbo 99-02 I did find some actual "W" turbos for less... but considering I had to send mine back for a core $560 was not bad...just knowing it was all American... $250 and not sending my core in would have been nice, I could have rebuilt it myself and had a backup for when the Chinesium turbo failed.... I did paint some items to match. Here are the photos. One of which was the OLD oil drain into the crank case... I THOUGHT the wastegate tubing was going to come in blue... so I'll replace it later. IT BLEW BLACK smoke the first 10 miles, I am pretty sure that was just getting rid of the soot that had built up in the tail pipe.. because after it ran clean.
