  2. NOWAY :nono:They just came on the news and the wind chill will be 0 tonight
  3. Just got off the phone with the truck in Bulverde and it's a:doh: 53 block, says it's not cracked. It's still in the truck and can here it run.
  4. Yesterday at 5:00pm it was 82 degrees here, and now it's 27 and falling fast. A 55 degree drop
  5. I am looking for anything:pray:
  6. Well the guy that was going to rebuild me a short block fell off the edge of the earth I guess. No price quote no phone call no go jump in the lake no nothing. I have just about had it with people saying I will call you back. Dont lie, just say you dont give a s--- and be done with it. Two weeks wasted, so I call Cummins and they dont sell short blocks, another lie. We all know cummins sells short blocks, anyway he wonts to sell me a long block for 6020.00:mad: Man, I am about to go out and buy me a Sherman Tank and do like that guy on wacked out video's:lmao:
  7. Yea it sounds weird, my AD 100 didnt do it and the pressure line is in the same place. The air bubble thing is all I could come up with. I will try to bleed it and keep you posted.
  8. It does not do it just slowing down, you need to apply good pedal and you can get 1 1/2 pound rise.
  9. It's a a a a regulator I cant remember what you call it.
  10. Man, I wasn't going to tell yall this, but the guy that is rebuilding the short block, he went in the hospital yesterday. And I havent heard anything. But even if he hadnt gone in it was going to take 2 weeks. So there it is. This guy has several c-rail blocks ready but he says he dont get to many 2nd gen motors. ????? Whats up with all the c-rail motors? I figured it would be the other way around.
  11. :shrug:It does itfull, empty it dont matter. It is a manual gauge. I been thinking about it and I wonder if a air bubble in the line would cause this? The line is coming off the pump and it is running along the side of the frame rail, if it had a bubble along the frame and when you apply the brakes gravity would push forward?
  12. Well, they wont 4500 and it dont come with a cam or front bearing that's another 1050.00 with cam & lifters.
  13. Your going to think I am crazy, but what would make your fuel pressure go up when you hit your brakes. Pressure runs steady 17psi hit the brakes and it goes up to 18.50 almost 19.:shrug:It has done this since I replaced my airdog 100 with the 150.
  14. This machine shop I ordered mine from is here local(Tx) and he been building for the public for 1 year now. He used to build for just a smal hand full of people and now he even builds for the dealership. But before I tell him for sure I am going by cummins just to see how much they are. What I heard is cummins does not come with a cam:shrug: that is extra.I will find out everything Monday for sure and I will get back with ya.
  15. I emailed last week and no responce. I am going by Cummins dealer in the morning, I hope. Maybe they can tell me something.
  16. Wow that's wild, this bio fuel your talking about is it being forced on us at the pump? Or is it a choice to use it? Sounds like the ethynol that's being forced on us. I was fueling up 04 (gas) miller welder the other day when the rubber liner in the cap just fell apart in my hand.
  17. I have heard this before, are you sure it's cleaning out the junk in the tank though. I pulled my tank on my 01 about two years ago and was impressed how clean it was.
  18. Good reading there:smart:
  19. Ok I give:doh: I just ordered a rebuilt short block. It may take 3 weeks to get it built but owell. I just hope it stays together that long. 3K for short block and I might put me a cam in it 181:lmao:her we go again:spend:Oh yea update to the weight of my truck, we where hauling scrap the other day when I thought, I need to weigh my truck, 11090:stuned: I rebuilt my bed and the sa200 put a lot on it.Cant you just see it 11k welding truck spanking a fords a$$ at a red light:lmao::lmao::lmao:
  20. Yea I will look for that, I am just scratching to get by here and probably making a bigger hole for my self.
  21. Has anyone here had any experince with the lock n stitch method on repairing a 53 block? I have some ideas of just brazing it and then use there bracket to help support the block.I have no idea how much the lock n stitch is cost wise.
  22. I dont understand, vulcan cant get the rubber gromet, h--- they sell the draw straw kit.
  23. Thanks for the info. I was thinking it's a little to much but I like the support bar they put on the block. Not because it holds the block together but because the extra metal gives off heat transfer. The only reason the block cracks is the expansion is so much greater in the thin area the rest of the meatal cant grow with it fast enough thus a crack forms. I found a guy that has a 53 block with 500k and no crack, he plugs it in when temp gets below 50-60 degrees, plus the heater is on the same side as where the block likes to crack.
  24. Man I can get you a 12 valve, there everywhere down here. I have no clue what the h--- is the deal with 24 valves. If you fine one, and I mean one they wont 5k for it.:lmao2:I found a HO motor stripped of everything but vp, they wont 2250.00 for it and 200k on the clock. I found a SO at the same junk yard and it was out of there yard truck with 335k and wont 2k for it.I found this 53 motor with a cracked block and felt lucky:ahhh: they only wanted 750.00 for it.I am looking at the lock n stitch method, it sounds pretty easy.
