  1. Should rockers hold oil or should they leak down?
  2. I just adjusted the valves on my new head for the first time and noticed all the rockers hold oil. Before it would about 3-4 rockers would hold oil and the rest would be empty.My thought was they should leak down if they had good flow. But all rockers held oil thru the entire valve adj.These are the original rockers on the same pedalstal's.The only diff. I can think of is all new valve springs, would that cause them to hold oil if the springs where holding more pressure?Hey Mike new pump from chip came in yesterday, took long enough.lol I sure didnt wont to go thru the explanation of the clear line again.lmaoMerry Xmas
  3. If you can give me some design I maybe able to cut one out.
  4. Get a T- stat from cummins and a good name brand rad cap from place and see what happens. It cant hurt and its cheep enough.
  5. If I have to stop fast mine will go up 1 to 1 1/2 lbs.
  6. They said I was responsable for gaskets, front and rear main seal, thermostat, and everything else has a 1 year warranty. And show reciepts that thermostat and gaskets had been replaced. Oh and water pump.
  7. How trust worthy are these things? I found a 01 eng. with 48k miles for 5k shipped what you think? My plan is to buy another eng. and rebuild my eng. a little at a time. Maybe find another truck at some point that needs a eng.

  9. Just for the record the plug is damn near worn out from being pluged in. Scanner will not show anything, if that where the case it would have been repaired 2 years ago.
  10. I read that yesterday, could be something. I will call tomorrow. But it has done this with other vp's as well. Would this be picked up with a scanner?

  12. I sent edge in and they said it had corrosion so they sent a brand new one for 100.00 fee, I just never hooked it up. It also has switch in the cab for easy 1, 2, 3 power range. Thought that was pretty cool. --- Update to the previous post... Its back to stock pretty much, just ddp 50hp inj. --- Update to the previous post... John if I still drank you would have read about this long ago belive me.LOL
  13. It is on its second cam sensor, second wire harness, 5th vp, 4th set of inj., 3rd crossover tubes,2nd ecm, 2nd head, 2nd airdog, 2nd fuel lines, 2nd draw straw. --- Update to the previous post... Random, all over the map.
  14. Well if Cummins cant fix it it's doomed to fall of a clif. I took truck to cummins to let them try. Well if I had stock injectors he said they could search for leaks by pressure the system. And there stock injectors are about 500.00 each, thats what he said,I dont know. They did the usual routine stuff, hook up scanner and the usual stuff came up NOTHING. They seemed sure that the crossover tubes where leaking and one may have been. It runs a little diff. but miss is still there. Here is where I am at,new DDP 50 HP injectors, ECM,Apps,crossover tubes, cam sensor, VP Blue Chip, Head rebuilt, Starter, Alternator, water pump, thermostat & sensor, new airdog 150 with quick connects, rotors pads, drums shoes, drive shaft, ujoints, carrier bearing, kyb shocks, tires good, 2 year south bend clutch, edge ez, bd intake, gauges, 5 inch exhaust, power steer pump,ball joints, turbo the oldest thing on truck 4 years. new batts. switched out wire harrness. What you give me for it? lmao One positive thing is he is sure the head gasket not blown. lol I guess I will just drive a truck with a miss for ever. This is a real pisser.You mean this truck cant be fixed?At the end of my rope, I cant see spending another dime. 7K In 8 months.Mapp and ait the only thing not changed.

  17. Speaking of the 8.3 I saw one in the crate this morning, HUGE man, that's a big motor. They just put in a new Cummins, complete shop. They dang near had to run me off this morning. I was checking everything out.

  19. John when I went from your 275 back to my DDP 50'S you could tell a big diff. I am not pushing ddp's but they are good inj. DDP 75's or 100's would be awsome with just the set up you have. Imho
  20. With my expertise that I have found, I can now install on a 24 valve in 1.50. I will addmit I did not wont this new found experince.lolAnd by the way christmas has come early for folks in central Tx., we now have a full service Cummins shop just twenty five minutes from the house. yeaaaaaa Where were these people a year ago.I found it going to the Freightliner shop.

  23. I just bought 1/2 oz bottle, sounds right to me. I am going to try one more gasket and see what happens. And check the block, surely the head is ok ,they just resurfaced it.Oh yea I need to include the JL factor. lmaoThere is a Freightliner store close by I am going to check them out tomorrow, what name brand am I looking for besides Cummins. The last gasket was a Felpro. Check this out I called Dodge yesterday and they wonted 185.00 my cost (shop), reg. cost was 210.00
  24. Smoke, I may need it if gasket dont hold this time. You never replyed to how hard it was driven. Oh wait, lets see your sig says 21 and you may have had it for a few years RAN THE HE!! OUT OF IT LOLJust kiddin you smoke, I would have ran it like I stole it if I was that age.lol
