  1. Yeah the trans and eng are the only thing left stock, I was hoping to get another 6 months out of it, but. The rear end is tight, I also did wheel bearings all the way around, rebuilt driveshaft and had balanced. She does have 275 on the clock. You might remember the driveline whine on the other post, I think I found it. The frontend is completely rebuilt including steering box, ball joints. I could do that and save money. I have no experience inside trans and from what Im finding 2-3 weeks out before anyone can get to it, thats with me pulling it out.
  2. On my other truck I had the worst luck ever, bad rebuild one right after the other 4 total. Found a guy called SuperStick transmission in Austin Tx. NV5600 rebuilt 4250.00
  3. God Im tired of shelling out the money on this pig. 16k in mods in a year. Thats what I was afraid I was going to hear. Thanks
  4. So Im on my 2nd rear seal in about6k miles, keeps blowing them out. I even put a little silicone on this one and still blew out. Im thinking something is not right in trans. What do you think.
  5. I still like the way you or somebody explained it a few years ago, you ever see a snowmobile gel up?
  6. Ive got the fan out and shroud off while im installing new dampener and figured while Im there might as well fix the leak. Im not sure if the timing cover has a gasket or if just sealant. Anyone give me a heads up. Thanks
  7. I've been using the old dinosaur 100 watt light blub for to damn long. Who makes the best drop light?
  8. Yes did the mod, plan on taking my time finding all the leaks on that side of the eng. and fixing. Rear main was a problem, that helped stopping that leak. I'll get the new line for the vac pump. Thinking I'll pull pump and rebuild or may just buy rebuilt vac and steering pump. I'll be working on this truck for a long while, I'm already into this truck over 12k, not all parts, I did buy a new bed 6k installed. New frontend parts except ball joints, new vp, airdog, rear wheel bearings and seals, calipers, all new interior, rebuilt and balanced driveshaft, clutch and pressure plate flywheel, injectors, turbo. In other words am not stopping till its rebuilt. Ive always wanted a new to me 2nd gen and it had a good start when I bought it.
  9. So I installed new Clutch and now it has a small drive line wine. Nothing serious just noticeable. So I ordered the Fluidampr harmonic balancer from DAP. Anyone hear using one? Yeah I know should have asked first. lol
  10. I suppose injector lines in the way, the old fuel pump bracket, can that be removed? I guess once you start removing injection pump it becomes more clear. I just had injection pump off and as luck goes it wasnt leaking bad. It just started pouring oil a few days ago. I tried to tighten but no luck. I also thought of making tabs that act as bigger washers to pull down in a greater surface.
  11. My truck has had a oil leak for a while but in the last two weeks its now a problem. Any tips or advice on making this job any easier?
  12. Michael and I were going to meet up for a few days while he was in Tx but as things would have it all blew up starting with I had a funeral I had to attend then Thursday I had scheduled a guy to help me replace the clutch in my truck. Then he had to head back a day early so that was that as they say. Michael and I have been friends for a few years now I guess since 2005 when I was in the hospital for two TIA's. I was so bored in the hospital with test I started searching for truck forums and now its 2022. I got a feeling its my turn to head to Idaho next. It wont happen till summer I can say that. You wont get this Tx guy in no -20 weather. Safe travel Michael.
  13. I dont know what more a man needs as far as towing I just pulled 22880 load and trailer. If I stick my foot in it it will start breaking stuff and I hadnt even hooked up my Quadzilla yet. But even if it was hooked up it wouldnt be turned up but for fuel (and timing coming soon I hope).
  14. Who makes a good scanner for 2nd gen trucks? I wont to be able to check things like vp44 rpm. Check things while driving down the road. Mainly what ever feed back I can get from the vp. Thanks
  15. I emailed them and got a phone call and got my questions answered. Gearbox is on its way. On the phone call deal, if I was having tee shirts made, ball caps printed for a team and such thats one thing to not have a phone connection. But when your dealing with truck parts people have questions. I need my questions answered fairly quick because when Im planning on spending a lot of money which is what Im doing I dont need a reply by email tomorrow. But yes thanks for the number, I must have over looked it. I do have their number now, the one they called from comes up on caller ID as Blue Top Steering.
  16. No doubt the best injection pump's are from DAP. I have been through a lot of them. When I fired up my new pump just weeks ago I was impressed. Good people too.
  17. I ordered a Valair clutch fro DAP and I just want to say if you had any question of who to go with as I did, Im here to say wow a heck of a good set up. The Fly Wheel is top notch, the clutch is a heavy well built clutch, the pressure plate is awesome. Im not here to bash anyone but if looks says anything it should be the last clutch this truck needs.
  18. Or how bout the guy that ran 50/50 trans oil and diesel. Filled the concave of the piston and the eng ran away with him and blew.
  19. This was a nightmare to order. An account is required, WHY. Just like I knew it was going to do the password was screwed up. While pissed off I checked the no core and now I just paid 150 dollars for the hell of it. A phone number would have been to easy. If there is a number its well hid because I couldn't find it.
  20. Mine came in yesterday and looks the same course that doesnt mean anything, but as long as its TC-3 thats what counts.
  21. Who is the go to manufacture for steering gear box? 2002 Cab and Chassis straight axle.
  22. I second the injectors, when you get like I was you should have 3 sets of spares. You tried your brothers ecm and no change Im leaning injectors for the last hope.
  23. Just got back from walmart with a gal of Supertech 2 stroke 24.00 a gal. Went on line and ordered Pennzoil with TC 3 17.47 a gal. Im not sure but I read somewhere supertech was made by Pennzoil. Anyone know for sure? Moderators not sure were this should go, thanks.
  24. Man that eng still haunts me to this day. Close to 9k in tracking down that miss fire. You could start that truck , leave it in the driveway running all day and it sounded like the best running eng you ever heard, drive down the road 250 yards and it would start. It was opening up the crack with added heat. I literally had an entire pallet heaped up of parts I had bought. It is practically impossible to diagnose a hairline crack in a piston. Im going to tell you from my point of view, I will never go down that road again. The amount of money and man hours and others man hours I could have bought a really nice truck. Just buy another eng and call it a day, it would have been way cheaper and the amount of stress not just on me the whole family. I know Michael was stressed too, he got to where he answered the phone, well what did you try today?
  25. Looking to replace tie rod ends, pretty much all steering related parts. When I look up straight axle, and Ive changed it up a lot I keep getting 4x4 parts . Got it. I cant believe there can be so many ways to search crap, geez. Apparently they made a straight axle with leaf springs. Did a search for coil spring set up and got it.
