Who is the go to guy for ecm repair?

Installed new 50hp injectors again , going to send the other backs. Dap said they would check them and get back to me. Mean while I got a buddy to hook his scanner to it and check for codes, course I did grid heater delete and those two codes came up but nothing else. We checked the vp44 and the vp rpms were wild jumping around from 2025 to 1500 and as low as 10, Im thinking if its not in the vp then maybe the ecm. Who is the go to guy to check the ecm? The VP44 is new through DAP I guess I'll get with them and see what they think.

Wow I went to napa and they said they had nothing. Im going to have to pull it and measure though I'm finding all kinds of different length's. Thanks for looking that up.

My passenger e brake started dragging so I got under there and at some point I bent the cable where it goes in the bracket. So I went to order a new one and no one can get them, so I go to Dodge and they tell me both brake cables are discontinued. I hate going to the wrecking yard for parts. Anyone else experience this?

So the seal is leaking in the cab and it looks to be the original so I ordered a new one. While I'm there should I replace the master cylinder also?

I did set valves at 8 and 18, I read I think a post you made about that. I just hate ticking valves.

So I bought the Quadzilla with Iquad and I been holding off installing it because I have a lot of lopping and to me too much black smoke with the 50 hp new bosh bodies. Dont know if the surging is due to this or not, I plan on sending them back to get them checked to see if theres a problem going on with them. In the mean time I though I would buy new crossover tubes just to have a piece of mind that they are good to go. Question is what injectors would you suggest to run for fuel mileage and towing with the Quadzilla?

16" mbrp I got free from my son in law is working good for me on 4". I also put a 45 miter cut on the end to disperse the pop. A little trick we did back in the day on our shovelhead to keep Johnny law off our azz.

So would injectors cause this? I have the DAP 50hp injectors and they are pretty smokey, just shifting normal they blow pretty good amount of black smoke at first then clean up. They were not as smokey at first as they are now. Also they have a heavy lope to them especially when backing up. Would a torn O ring cause this, or cross over tubes? No codes that I can bring up with the ignition.

It surges when eng is cold and after it warms up it seems fine. It reminds me of a tank half full of water, you feel the push then it drags back. I just installed new vp44, new injectors, crossover tube o rings, new airdog 165. Talked with Lenny at DAP and he suggested hooking up Iquad and see what datta it might show. I havent installed the Quadzilla Iquad yet because of this. I also just reset my apps a few minutes ago to see what happens in the morning. A real head scratcher, I hear about ecm's doing this but its always when it heats up, or the vp doing this as it heats up. This gets better as it heats up.

I do have a strange surge when its cold in the morning. I did so much at once with the 165 airdog, vp44, new injectors with crossover orings that I just been keeping a eye on it to see where its coming from. As soon as the eng. warms up its gone so not to much of a bother. But I often thought about the draw straw, I need to do it right.

Yes I screwed this up, I didnt like the holes I drilled and got frustrated and wacked it off at an angle. I'll probably run out at a 1/4 tank.

So help me figure this, 245 is wider than 235 ? Wouldnt 235 75 r16 be better? And putting a 4.10 in would run how much?

So I have been kicking tires lol, this is what I came up with. My truck has to have 3.55 gear ratio, at 65 its 1800 or so and sucks as a 1 ton tow rig. This tire comparison is a Firestone LT 235 85 r16 to LT235 75 r16 Tire 1 Tire 2 Diff Diameter 31.73 29,88 -6.19 with 9.25 same sidewall 7.86 6.94 -13.33 circumference 99.68 93.86 - 6.19 Revs/mile 635.65 675.02 - 6.19 Speed 10 vs 9.38 20 18.76 30 28.14 40 37.52 50 46.90 70 65.66 This is some big diff. Im just not smart enough or able to search to find out if just changing tire size if I can achieve a 3.75 gear change just by down size my tires. Im sure someone has figured this out before. Or am I stuck with changing rear end gears?

Yeah, I think heat shield is more what I need. If it dropped Mikes 30 degrees that would be good enough for me. I pull a lot and just think I'm borderline on heating up the trans. I remember the conversation with Michael on the coolers now. Im waiting on a response from Mobil on Delvac trans with GL 4. I see it advertised but when ordered its only MT 1. I found a new source that advertises gl 4 but they are 123.00 a gal. And you can never find a email to ask questions. May have to just order it and see what happens, can always return it I guess.

So im thinking of running one on driver side due to exhaust so close to it on passenger side. Worth it or not? I almost wonder if wrapping the exhaust pipe better? Thanks

I thought about drilling a hole in pto cover, welding a nut to it and screw it into manual trans. But I remember you saying theres a specific spot. Where the pto gear splash feeds the sensor.

I think thats where I would be on it, sure I'll check it out for a while but everything I need has a gauge. I do need a trans gauge though.

So it came in the other day and im going to get around to installing it soon. I have all manual gauges, so Im missing out on a lot of cool gadgets I guess. I read the quadzilla instructions and pretty much got that, what is the Iquad going to do besides download other tunes? In other words what is it going to do for the quadzilla? I read the instructions but I will have to re read them Im sure several more times. Just asking questions to basically put it together in my head. Excuse me but im old school, dual point distributors were high tech in my day.

Im old school when it comes to diesel heat soaked eng. Ran heavy equip for 28 years and we never shut them down without idling at least 5 min. I own a hay business and here in Tx its HOT, I let my turbo eng idle for about 5-10 min, while natural aspirated eng ill let idle 5 min. and shut down. Im in the habit so much I let my gas eng idle a bit before shut down. I may be wasting time but old habits are hard to break.

That was on my old truck, I took a hacksaw cut the L bracket off filter housing to use the bolt holes and mounted the isolator to that. You convinced me to keep stock filter housing for reasons you just mentioned. Im just curious as what filter to run in it.

Im new to the world of stock fuel filters seeing I cut my bracket off my old truck and used it to hold isolator about 12 years ago lol. I was about to remove this one when someone on here told me in kind words that that was dumb So what brand seems to be the best?
