  1. What do you think of this fluid? https://www.amsoil.com/c/manual-transmission-fluid/21/ Scroll down to a pic of a one gal container it says 50 weight.
  2. I suppose the 1/4 inch plug on the oil filter housing would work but is their one closer to the lower end other than the sender for the stock gauge?
  3. Amsoil makes a 50 weight for over the road haul trucks, I dont know why that wouldnt work. But I know nothing on nv5600's either. Thats a good question, why do they run 5-30 in a nv5600?
  4. Got the 4G installed and I must say its smooth no doubt, quite and pumps 18 psi at idle and wot 17. I think with a load it will come down to 16. As for the new 150 I'll be sending it back to Airdog and see what they say.
  5. I'll never do business with these people ever again. I installed a 4500 from them that would not shift with out forcing it. I called and they sent me shifting forks expecting me to install them. I had no choice but to do it because that truck was my only welding truck so I was screwed. 11 months to the day I dumped the gear oil and it was full of metal, you can guess what happened after that.
  6. Yeah both of those trucks are gone, I hadnt figured out how to delete the old and put in the new. Its a 2002 3500 straight axle 2wd cab and chassis, nv5600.
  7. I dont know why Im having so much problem finding the right seal. I went to napa and they gave me a 22049, I should have known better cause it popped out in 3 miles, to easy to drive in. So I go to Aline and he couldnt find anything for a nv5600, he had a seal for a 5 speed so I put it in and it leaks, I put another one in because I didnt lube the seal thinking running it dry may have caused it. Nope, it leaks too. The original seal was a 33029 and cant find that seal anywhere. I was hoping someone here might have the right number before I pay 10 times to much for it at the dealer. Thanks
  8. I had one years ago separate, it was in the truck when I bought it. I hate to hear that after I just put one in. What do you run?
  9. My son in law is changing antifreeze and wants to replace the T-stat on his 2018 3500, the only problem is Dodge wants 250.00 plus for a new one. Anyone have any part numbers to get around Dodge? I looked on Cummins and all I get is 2nd and 3rd gen.
  10. So I replaced my airdog150 for the new 4G 165, my only question is why does the return have such a small hole (0.138)? Of course my return dumps into the filler neck and just checking to make sure this will work. Because the system they sent draws through the old sender basket. I have the draw straw drilled at the top of the tank. I think my old 150 electrical plug in is the same so I shouldnt have to replace that, right?
  11. So I made my first haul with the new to me truck. Pulled over after 15 miles just to look over things and rear end was pretty warm could touch and thats about it. I left my temp gun at the shop so I dont know exactly what the temp was but I was pulling about 17k. Unloaded and got back to shop got heat gun and the pinion bearing area was 150 degrees the lowest part of third member was 138, thats pulling a 8k empty trailer. So I know it was hotter when loaded, lets just say 170, temp was a 60 degree day. Seems a little hot to me. What are you seeing rear end temps at? I replaced the pinion seal and dont know what I torqued it to but I know I looked it up.
  12. Just when I think I got it figured out I looses me. I just dont follow whats going on. If I just start trimming tape will it come to me. The splice connection in the cable Michael is holding, thats replaced with a solid cable with lugs on each end? Like I said maybe I see it better just get in there and do it.
  13. My plan was to take a screw driver and just collapse one side and pry it out, does anyone see any problem with that? Thanks
  14. So you just connect the two negatives?
  15. Excuse the butting in but what is a W-T mod?
  16. Is there a how to post pics? I know years ago it was hard to post.
  17. From what I found is you have a little of both the lift pump and vp. There are more informed people on here that will chime in shortly.
  18. Ok then the heater core is ok. I swore it was covered. I looked into it closer today and it looks like someone took a dremel to it and cut away at the bottom of the housing making a gap between the black plastic housing and the white door. Strange. I still dont think the gap under the door is letting air in, must be a motor out or something. Its no doubt fresh air blowing through the vents. Thanks for the help.
  19. In the off position it comes through the ac vents in the dash. I pulled the glove box and Im finding things like the heater core is exposed at the top. Im pretty sure it should be enclosed. The flap at the blower motor has a 1/2 inch gap at the bottom like it was broke off or something is missing.
  20. So im driving down the road with no heat and windows up. Its cool out but nice, all the sudden Im feeling air, I check the ac vents and air is blowing through them. I rotate the knobs to try and stop it and its constant air flow. What happen? I bought a new vacuum line 3 weeks ago, the line from the pump to the passenger side of dash. Its all of the sudden outside air blowing through the dash vents. This is really going to mess up the ac on a hot day.
  21. The Isspro mechanical fuel pressure gauge, its just a snubber and needle valve assembly, right? Also does it work off the dimmer switch the way the picrol does?
  22. Yep, I just installed 50hp injectors from DAP and a rebuilt and balanced driveshaft a few hours ago. As soon as the air cleared the system I was like wow, thats a awesome sounding eng. I didnt know what balanced injectors really sounded like. I mean Ive installed half a dozen sets of injectors in my old truck and never got that wow factor. The eng idles so smooth I just like listening to it. Hats off to DAP on that one. And you to Michael for giving me the shove through the door on DAP.
  23. Marvel Mystery oil works wonders. Back during my Harley mechanic days this was quite common. See if you can get a old squirt oil can and direct it on the valve stem, if it doesn't free up you know whats next.
  24. I would crimp and slide heat shrink over it.
