Crank, no start after replacing 2 CKP sensors- Fuel issue?
Guys around here have mentioned that Cummins does not repair ECM's, and they do not have new ones. There is an article on this site with some recommended rebuilders, like Auto Computer Specialists.

I think the app says it'll work with 4.4+, but I had trouble with 4.4 and Version 5. I've used 6, 8, and 9 without trouble.

I don't have a diagram in front of me, but did you short the +5v wire to the ECM input? Not sure if this is a good idea, but I'm guessing it made the ECM thing the truck was running and ran the lift pump because of that. When you turn the key on, you should here the lift pump for a couple seconds while it primes. That's normal. I think the key has to be off for 30 seconds to repeat that. I wish I could help more than that. You may want to tap into the sensor wires and test the sensor input while cranking?

I've had good results with Gates thermostats.

Green Bean Thinkin'.........
In the ocean I suppose? I guess this makes sense depending on the situation. For example, a single glacier up in the mountains could have been feeding multiple streams, rivers, lakes, etc. for decades, even centuries. For example, in the Columbia Icefields between Jasper and Banff National Parks in Canada, there is one particular mountain range that delivers water directly to something like 3 different oceans in 3 different directions. Soon there will be no ice left, and that water source will be gone. To me, it's just the way it is. Can't put the ice back. Some day most of the ice on the planet will be gone. And then, there will probably be another ice age at some point. Lather, rinse, repeat. Life starts over and the next batch of Humans can invent a better lift pump and front end when they design their version of the 2nd gen dodge trucks.

Very interesting. Can't help but try to draw lines to connect those. You did yours on the road too, right? I can just imagine getting through a VP44 swap and then having no power because if a failed MAP sensor on the test drive.

I wish I could get a couple weeks of global warming here, I'm freezing my *** off after shovelling snow all morning. And changing a map sensor in the driveway. The last couple winters here were the coldest I can remember.

Now that's hilarious. Standard Motor Products was the last one that died on me.

@Gregturley I decided since most of these sensors seem to be crap anyway, I picked up one on Amazon with prime 1 day shipping for $25... All it has to do is beat the $70 rock auto sensor's 30 day record lol. Went for a quick drive and it's within 1 or 2 psi of my 100 psi gauge up to 40 psi. I should put these damn things on a quick disconnect to make them easier to change. Maybe an air chuck.

I'm sure it is a problem, but I'm afraid that's the end of my TV watching knowledge, haha. I'd have to bust out some Google Fu to answer that one.

Negative. Carbon Dioxide, not Carbon Monoxide. Personally, I don't think the carbon tax has much to do with the environment. I think environmental issues (or rather the media involvement in environmental issues, real or not) are just being used an an excuse. I think maybe it's mostly political, and just another excuse for Uncle Sam (and whatever the Canadian version is) to stick his hands deeper into our pockets. Flavour of the month type thing. Although it's a strong flavour and a long *** month. More like a lifetime.

Probably true. But you'd have to destroy all non plant life inside said forest to reap the benefits of the extra oxygen. But the plant and non plant life rely on each other, so you can't. Also keep in mind that too much oxygen in the atmosphere isn't necessarily a good thing. Theoretically. Depends what you mean by cleaning air. If you mean reducing carbon dioxide and increasing oxygen, then I suppose the answer is yes. I don't disagree with what you are saying, I just don't understand how planting trees will help me fill my tank for my morning commute. Yeah that's a tough one. Other than shooting it into space, there is literally no way to make it disappear on our planet in our lifetime. To me, sustainability means population control. At the rate world population and energy demand is growing, things are not sustainable.

Quad V2 ignores intake temperature sensor input, timing is not affected by it while the quad is in control.

I saw a Netflix nature documentary once that said the rainforest (I don't remember which one) only produces enough oxygen to sustain itself, and the wildlife living within in.

Oil Weight 5.7 Hemi
One thing to remember, especially with those newer Rams (and likely most newer makes) is that a lot of these specs are chosen with efficiency and emissions goals and long maintenance intervals in mind, not the lifespan of the vehicle and it's associated parts. I think we do have to put some trust into the manufacturer's recommendations, but I trust their judgement less and less as the years go by.

On the low end, high end, or all around? Either way it sounds reasonable to me. FYI, Cummins quoted me $225 CAD ($170 USD) for a MAP sensor today. Yuck.

F me... Two days after I type that, this morning I cooked another map sensor. WTF. -28°C morning, boosted it with my half ton to help it turn over faster to get it started. Possibly gelled a little, time to change filters. Plus I had it plugged in with a block heater timer, I think when it's this cold I need to bypass the timer and leave it plugged in all night. Sorry for the hijack. Why the hell would boosting my truck cook a map sensor and nothing else? My batteries wasn't even dead, they were just starting to get low from cranking. Maybe it was a coincidence. No more cheap *** rock auto sensors I guess. If anyone has a recommendation for a MAP sensor brand, I'm all ears. I'm assuming Cummins just buys a jobber and puts their name on the box. This truck is by far the shittiest winter vehicle I've ever owned. Just a thought, I didn't unplug the quad before I boosted the truck. Is the quad and/or its boost fooler somehow causing problems with the map sensor? Probably not, but it's an interesting thought. Sorry for the thread derail @Gregturley

Oil Weight 5.7 Hemi
Absolutely no problem in my opinion. I ran 5w40 synthetic in mine with no issues when I had it. I think the factory user manual even talks about a heavier oil for heavy duty use, might have been 10w30.

Depending on driving habits, idle time, weather, geography, etc, 13 mpg with 50/50 driving could be reasonable.

Definitely a common part to fail. I've had two fail in probably 30,000 km or less. The first one that failed just wouldn't output anything, was always zero PSI. The second one also shorted the 5v supply and I lost my oil pressure reading. Cheap crap... I have no idea on what brands they were.

I submitted a support ticket so it's logged, hopefully that helps clear up confusion.

No, that's not right. You might want to check inside the quad to make sure the map sensor jumper is right for your year of truck. There's instructions floating around here on how to do that, and it might even be included in the installation manual.

Yep, I can see that too. Just haven't seen an option to post. And again, the forum group does not appear on the main page with the rest of the clubs.
