  1. OK. I'll take it one step at a time on the tone wheel. Nothing wrong with cleaning it up I hope. Take a look "my" sensor. Been to a lot of websites and never once was this displayed as an option for an ABS Sensor for my truck. I'd just be happy finding a source right now.
  2. Got wheel AND hub off, mine is obviously an older one when compared to your article on changing sensors. My luck. There is no metal tab on top sensor. Sensor is located at bottom, with 2 bolts holding it on. Have not taken 2 bolts off, but it appears I have the wrong parts. You mention tone wheel failed. Was it missing a tooth or what? Mine was covered in dirt and debris. I cleaned it up. All teeth are present, square, no signs of physical damage. Is this an either work or doesn't issue? Previous owner used a red grease. Any recommendations on type please. Thanks. Leaky
  3. Thanks. Point taken. New sensors ordered today. Leaky
  4. Not opposed changing sensors. Since it's a $170 change-out, I checked Resistance and A/C output on each. LF- 1158 ohm; Voltage output was .002 volts RF- 1200 ohm; Voltage output was 1.5 volts Anyone know what A/C voltage range is please? Thanks. Leaky
  5. Hi, I'm trying to select the correct range of gauge to monitor my 47RE with a 5" aftermarket pan. Choices are: 100 - 280 or 140 - 320 Any suggestions please? Thanks. Leaky
  6. Nope. ABS and Brake warnings remain on after Cruise Control is turn OFF. These warning lights remain on UNTIL I shut the truck down. When I start it up, the ABS and Brake warning lights are NOT on. If I turn on the Cruise the cycle begins again.
  7. Hi, Correct one problem, along comes the next. Guess that's why these trucks are called a Labor of Love. I tried to use the Cruise Control. All it does is illuminate the ABS and Brake warning lights. I know I'm not the first. Leaky

Tiller, Thanks. So a gallon would be a "little" less than $5.72. I will not complain about it being $2.77 here in IL. But Diesel has always been cheaper than benzine. Correct? How strict is the TUEF inspections on these older Diesels?

Welcome Till. Great to have you. I lived in Germany almost 11 years. First in Nordrhein-Westfallen and then Baden Wuerttemburg and loved both. This is the best forum!!! A lot of very knowledgeable people on this site who enjoy helping others. Again, Welcome! Leaky

  13. The owners manual was no where to be found when I got the truck. Would you explain the conflict between it and maintenance please. Thanks. Leaky
  14. Want to service my 47RE Auto Transmission and install a drain plug on the pan. B&M advertises a plug, but I have read they can/will leak. Are there any other options for a retrofit plug? If someone has done this job, what is the best location for the plug? Also, if there is Go-By article, would someone please point me to it? Thanks. Leaky
  15. Hi, Installing a new cylinder head. This is my first experience with Torque (and) Angle. Manual says: Step 1: Torque to 50LBS Step 2: Turn additional 90 -100 degrees I have a TA360 angle gauge for Step 2. Question: After taking each bolt to 50FtLb's per tightening sequence diagram, do I go back and recheck each bolt to insure its at 50FtLb - BEFORE - proceeding with STEP 2? Thanks. Leaky

Hi, Can someone tell me how many Cylinder Head Locating Dowels are on a 2.5 Head please? My bad, it was late at night, I was rushed to get it to Machine Shop the next day and not mindful of them. Called Ford, they said there are 2, but Salesman said illustrated Diagram showed 3. But you have to order pack of 4 for $21.xx. Thanks. Leaky
  17. MoparMan, Thanks, I'll do that first. Truck is due to for a timing belt change, this new symptom just moved it up I guess. Appreciate the feedback. Leaky Moparman, Any recommendations on a brand of tester? I need an excuse to buy a tool. Leaky
  18. Hi, 306K on the Clock. (Good truck. Normal maintenance cost.) "Slow"Antifreeze Leak Right Front side of Engine. Small 3/4" diameter puddle. Leak evidences itself in morning "after" driving. No overheating, heat is good in cab. Looked at if from every direction and no signs of leakage. Checked/wiggled all hoses, clamps - all are dry. Nothing around pump, radiator or side freeze plugs. Oil is NOT foamy. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks. Leaky

  21. Hi, I'm looking for a single 1/2 Bulkhead fitting and some 1/2" corrugated fuel line. (ALL items above bracket in pic, less, washers, male QC, clamp and ties. ) Any one know of a source for fittings besides Vulcan? [Note: Nothing against Vulcan, they are great to deal with, extremely helpful, I can't say enough good about them. I'm just looking for source closer to me given Christmas mail delays etc..] Thanks. Leaky
  22. Hi, Truck starts fine all the time. Once it's warmed up, it develops a miss as if its starving for fuel. Fuel pressure is good. Timing is correct. injectors tested/serviced, fuel filter/plugs/wires changed. I have an OTC 4000E OBD1 scanner and everything is within specs. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks. Leaky
  23. Thanks! Very nice. I appreciate it. No question about there ever being fuel in that basket!! And where did you get the Red and Silver Bulkhead fittings and adaptors please? Leaky.
