Engine Cleanup
I have had good luck with Gunk FEB1/6 Foamy Engine Brite Engine Degreaser and the power washer. I try to keep the tip of the washer a few feet from seals, electrical connectors and decals. The problem with concentrated citrus based products is they have a high citric acid content and as such are hard on finishes, connectors and aluminum. Yes they do a great job at removing grease just be-careful if using it in the concentrated form.

Engine Block Warmer
Well it's -4*F here this morning and with the truck plugged in all night the temp gauge read +140*F. Something you need to understand is this is nothing more then a small hot water tank heater. There is no thermostat on it so it draws power all the time it is plugged in. Also the coolant is not circulating it is just sitting there so it takes a long LONG time to heat all of the coolant. There are other block heaters that use a small pump to circulate the coolant to more effectively heat your coolant. You can also add a pump yourself then still us the stock block heater. BTW if you need a new cord set or heater element buy it off e-bay the cords are selling for $12-$15 and the dealers sell just the cord for $110+ . Here is a pic of the mod I did relocating my plug to the lower air dam. The part I used is from a marine supply house http://www.marinco.com/product/20-amp-125-volt-power-inlet-black keeps the cord set from hanging out from under the hood/grill. How do I post pics....help Don

Parking Brake / Emergency Brake Frozen!
Try putting white lithium grease around where the cable goes into the protective sheaths without the PB applied then apply the PB this should keep water from getting into the cable. Also anytime you park your truck in the winter and you use your PB you run the chance of the shoes freezing to the drums when they cool down. This happened to me at a Kentucky truck stop when I was driving truck one time. Cost me $180 to have the guy bring the torches out to the fuel inland and thaw the brakes out. The owner of the trucking company told me "I bet you don't do that again" to which i said nope I'll just let the rig roll down the hill . He found my comment about as funny as I found his . BTW Mike if I had a dollar for every time I missed that blinking "BRAKE" light I could have paid for my brake job . Don

Hello everyone
Thanks guys I found my way here via RV.NET and Moparman. --- Update to the previous post... Is there a how link showing how to post pics and things like that? I use webshots as my picture hosting site and tired to post a pic but it didn't work. So either I have to wait the 14 days or I was doing something wrong?

Anyone have a ford Edge?
I have to agree with you, with the average person making 45K a year who can afford a $30,000.00 for a new car?

Parking Brake / Emergency Brake Frozen!
I forgot to release the parking brake and ended up wrapping both rear rotors on my truck. At $145 each then $120 for new ceramic/metallic pads and the $60 for the PB shoes I try not to do that anymore :banghead: .

High Idle
OK you guys lost me already....3 cylinder high idle? I have the high idle feature on my truck also. All you do is turn on the cruse hit the set button and the idle jumps up to 1K. Tap the acc button and it will bump the idle 100 rpm's up to 1,500 right? Have to say my truck does not sound like it's coming apart just a faster idle, so what are you guys talking about?
