  1. LOLSo expand on why you think the Airdogs water separator is not as good as the factory system?
  2. Out on the highway I use it all the time, not so much on two lanes however.
  3. Unless the trans is hunting for a lower gear all the time leave it in OD. I tow a 10K TT and unless I'm pulling a steep grade I run in OD. I can climb the Jellico with the TT in OD no problem.Don
  4. OK what is F/W Sep??? The unit should be the new one it has the quick disconnect fittings on the hoses. Jacob does not have any more of the older ones and he said it has the 10/2 micron filters with it. Should have gotten it today but no UPS driver today . Funny thing is I got the filter delete part form Calf and it got here Monday, but a part the is 160 miles south of me still is not here!
  5. I change mine at 25K and the Blackstone report always comes back that I could go longer if I wanted . I changed the oil in both of my Daughters cars over this weekend, the Volvo had 7,500 miles on the oil and the Buick had 5,000 miles and both run Mobil 1 5W30 and the oil was black as coal.Color really does not mean a hill of beans, except for crocked service people to make extra money for expensive flush treatments. Don
  6. Well if you like we can swap cab lenses, I have been wanting to pick up a set of them myself.
  7. Hay Black Ram TD I know someone that has a real sweet supper clean fully set up ready to camp in dual slide bunkhouse for sale. http://forum.mopar1973man.com/threads/4053-Cougar-304BHS-dual-slid-outs-For-Sale Don
  8. A great big HELLO for NW Ohio :)So since you have Fiat's over there tell us what you think of them. How do the run, what do people think about them and so forth. I work for Chrysler here in the States and from what I'm hearing they seem to be a good company. Don
  9. Well I pulled the trigger on a Airdog 100 today, should get it Tuesday or Wednesday and if I'm not working next weekend I'll be putting it on then. Also ordered the filter delete kit (just a threaded pipe) at the same time. Ordered it from Jacob @ Diesel Auto Power one of the venders from here. Don
  10. Now Dat Dare is funny....I dont care who u r.
  11. I would call a company that specializes in odor removal. See if they can sell you something a bit stronger then over the counter chemicals. As for the insulation try going to a car wash and see if you can put the hose inside the blower motor to see if you can vacuum the insulation out. You might be able to get your insurance company to pick up the cost of cleaning up the truck.Don
  12. Has anyone done a R&P on an 01 Sebring? From what I have been reading you need to lower the suspension crossmember? :cookoo:WTF it says to scribe lines on all four corners of the suspension crossmember before you loosen it so you can put it back on location. What kind of time am I looking at or should I take it to a shop? I have done racks before but it was not this in involved. Thought the guy jumped on my offer of $1800 for a car he was asking $2500 for way to fast. I did talk to him tonight and he gave me $600 cash back. Looks like this might cover the total cost for a shop to repair it. Don
  13. Yes it is in the air intake tube before the turbo not at the turbo. You can remove it without any ill affect to the truck. One of these days I'm going to remove the AEM system and reinstall the stock system without the silencer ring.Don
  14. Not sure what you are talking about as regards to the "silencer ring is the one that is attached to the turbo with a snap ring" mine was not. It is located inside the torque tube not the turbo, on the 04 anyway.Don
  15. By the end of this month Chrysler will buy the remaining 6.2% stake the US Gov still holds! Years ahead of when we had to and will be once again privately owed. For those who stood by us and did not turn their back on the hard working Men and women of Chrysler I would like to say THANK YOU VERY VERY MUCH!!!!!!! For the Nay Sayer that didn't think we could do it, I will still say THANK YOU also!!!!! Never count the American Union Worker out, we will do whatever it takes to make sure OUR Companies Survive and Build the Very Best Products bar none!Again THANK YOU!Don Proud Member of the UAW 1435 & Toledo Machining Plant
  16. Welcome you won't find a friendlier bunch then we have here! Ask away and don't be afraid to answer if you think you have something to contribute.Don
  17. U-Joints that use nylon as a retaining median will also do the same thing! Don't ask me how I know this, it was scary also. Took a chunk out of my Dads garage floor! Don
  18. I'll give you a neat trick if you anyone else does their ball joints in the future. Put the new ball joints in a freezer has soon as you get them, overnight works best. To remove your old ball joints NEVER heat the ball joint! Instead heat the outer flange on the bottom of the a-frame around the ball joint. Then you should be able to use the ball joint press to remove the old joint or a 5# sludge hammer as a last resort. If the old joint does not want to come out reheat using the technique above then pour cold water on the a-frame. The heat will expand the metal and the cold water will quench it helping to break the bond between the ball joint and a-frame. The use of Kroil penetrating oil will help also. Then reheat and try to press it out again.Note: Clean the ball joint pocket using a Scotch Brite Pad only and brake clean. The use of files, sand paper or buzzer rolls will remove material and make the pocket oversized! To install: Heat the inside of the a-frame ball joint pocket, remove ball joint from the freezer (one at a time) and install into the pocket. You may not even need the ball joint press as there is only a .003 press fit between the ball joint and a-frame pocket. This is how I would install sleeves in blocks with up to .005/.008 press fit and they would just drop in. A ball joint however is a lot thicker and will not shrink as much as a sleeve will. I hope this helps anyone in the future.Don
  19. 20. Remove the air inlet tube from the turbo and the air box, you will find a noise silencer near the air box side I think, it could also be in the outlet end of the air box, it will just pull out. You will notice that with it removed your turbo will spoil up fast and you will hear the turbo whistle also. Look on E-Bay for the missing CD's for your radio.Don
  21. Very nice looking truck. "auto trans, so who do I get a valve body from and do I need tourqe converter" Why do you want to change out the valve body and torque converter? The only issues with the 48RE are the OD solenoid and governor pressure solenoid. If you start to notice the trans jumping back and froth form first to second you need to change out the GPS and when you are in there change the ODS at the same time. Does this exhaust have a catalytic converter or is it a resonator. Yes it has a Cat, in 04.5 all CTD Rams got a 4" exhaust with a Cat. Air filter can be upgraded but is not needed. I changed mine with a AEM Brute Froce HD intake system but the new testing that is out there shows the stock air cleaner with the noise baffle removed flows as good and in some cases better then the after market systems. It also picks up it's air from out side the engine compartment unlike the aftermarket systems. If I had it to do over I would still be running the stock system and saved myself $400 The guy was totally a neat freak I mean not even a speck of dirt anywhere. His wife came back from the grocery store while we where looking at the truck and she unloads the groceries and starts cleaning the Lincoln navigator all that was there was groceries it's like she just hauled a load of wood or something. So whats wrong with taking pride in your vehicles? I wash the door jams and door frames once a week and wax them 2X a year. If this makes me a neat freak then I will wear that badge proudly, My truck has 120K and looks as good as the day I picked it up from the dealer. Is that a Nav radio? Don
  22. your link is not working. Gov. press. solenoid changed I need to change my solenoid also would love to find out what part you used (OEM or the GM upgrade) also didn't I read somewhere that there is another part that should get changed at the same time? Mike do you have a write up for adjusting the bands on the 48RE? Don Just found it the OD solenoid.
