The difference is not in the top gear but in the space between 3 & 4. If you,ve ever towed with the two you would know where the 6 speed shines.

Bring that junk to PA. and I'll give you more than $300 for it.

if you are running a stock turbo, 100's will be too strong. If you are running a stock 47re, RV275's will be too strong. As said above if you fill out your signature it will help us advise

Anyone have a source for them for a 99 truck? I can find 01 and up but none for 99. It's all coming apart for ball joints soon so now would be a good time to get some back on.

Thanks for that. I believe I saw it before but my 99 is opposite from this. Same idea though.

Ha Ha. I can pretty much guarantee the torch will be deployed. Nothing beats the old gas wrench if used correctly.

Will do. I may even document the procedure if I can figure it out, as I wasn't able to find much in the way of a write-up.

Pulled the trigger today! I contacted the E-Bay seller and told him I hear Spicer make joints in chia and state side. He immediately replied back and was emphatic that these are not made in china but in Canada as it says on the box. He then went on to take a closer up picture and altered the listing to say that these are the OEM joints just like the ones put in the truck when it was built. Got the axle joints too. They list for the newer trucks but the bottom appears grease-able? Ventures Truck Parts from Ogden Utah in case any one's interested. So we shall see. Now my next dilemma..... what brand of beer and band aides do I get for this job

Ha Ha! Imagine how I felt when my 53 block cracked . I do love this truck though and I'll let you know how I made out with the Spicers.

good to know about the 2 different kinds of Spicer joints. How do you tell if they are USA or not? I'm gonna ask the E-Bay seller for sure. I'm not putting china junk in for as much time as this job will take. What a shame for Spicer to sub out to china for a cheap version and do it on the sly. Makes me want to just go with Napa now again. I always assumed Dana Spicer was Dana Spicer .

My original non greasers have 125k and just a bit of play. Dripley got around 200k on his oem non greasers which is why I think oem is the best bet. How's one to know if China or not?

Well, I've finally made up my mind. Checked E-Bay and I can get OEM Spicer un-greaseables for $85 shipped, Thats cheaper than NAPA and the last ones went 125k. And the Spicer axle joint for about $45. This is for my early axle. I did not see a listing for the 2000 and up Dana 60.

Where does the dot go/
On a light weight motorcycle rim where you neither have the room or cosmetic wish to hang a lot of weights, even a little bit can be huge.

Where does the dot go/
You'd think I could remember after all these years but after all these years my forgetter is getting better! Some tires have a dot on them for mounting. The dot either goes at the valve stem or 180 deg. from it. The dot either shows the lightest or heaviest part of the tire but for the life of me I can't remember and I have 2 tires to put on my Kawasaki this week. Thanks for setting me straight.
