  1. Oh yes... I understand now.... Fuel Boss has to be powered up in the front off belt drive. Duh... I think that pump is a lot more tolerant of unfiltered fuel than our elect. units are. I.m sorry I miss understood what you are doing there. Gosh! they should demote me down to office janitor.
  2. Why can't the set up be simple plumbing? fuel tank---primary filter-- lift pump---------secondary oem filter-- vp44. In my case it's fuel tank--ball shut off valve--primary filter-- lift pump-- ball shut off valve------- secondary oem filter-- vp44. I put 1/2'' shut off valves so I can replace filter or liftpump without a lot of prime loss. One more benefit about the oem filter is as the lift pump wears there is a small amount of fine wear particles that it will remove before getting to the vp.
  3. I like the first set up. I would mount it on the frame before the lift pump, save the oem filter for a redundant filter just before the vp. The big filters help look out for the smaller sister filter. Keep from premature clogging. Only reason I say this that the world class ocean going yachts where lives at sea are dependant on the diesel engines always protect the lift pump with primary filtration.
  4. I have the older AD100 lift pump on the frame, 1/2'' lines all the way, no banjos. My filter is a Racor 30 micron 90 gph water separating filter that has the clear plastic bowl on the bottom. It's mounted before the lift pump to protect it from sediment and a swing away protection plate under the bottom of the filter. Wanted to add that the Racor has the filters specifically for the suction side of the system.
  5. I really never experienced bad fuel from anywhere Dave. I have seen some water separated out of my fuel and some dirt that lay in the bottom of my clear bowl on my big filter. I have read about some bad experiences people had with bad fuel, I know that it is very important to have some added filtration.
  6. That is a good idea. Wife brought home peaches the other day. I can say they are really very good for your body. So Dave, in a few weeks we'll get a pic of a wood sign carved, 'Driply Farms' ?
  7. Filtration other than Chryslers filters then is all the more important. Having a prefilter w/ not too small micron filtration is just as important as the final filtration being small enough micron to be effective for the vp.
  8. Sorry Dave, when you taste my coffee you'll know I was just kidding.
  9. I thank you guys. I like the metal roofing since it would block the weeds because of way it overlaps. To make it a good floor for walking between the raised boxes I would need to get gravel and grade it perfect then lay the metal down. This works too because the raised boxes are only good for about one more year. You know.... I try organic gardening but it's so slow. So now I found an organic fertilizer and man what a difference in growth. Plants are getting strong and twice the size in two weeks.
  10. Only guys in Canada would make an aluminum oil pan for their Cummins. Amazing is all I got to say
  11. my 12 valve is running a wee bit different lately and has 425,000 miles w/ originals. What should I get for a stock motor to help it a little bit?
  12. It's difficult to beat the flavor of fresh vegies. We have so many deer that I converted an old dog kennel I got for 50 bucks into a planting area inside. I supported a sprinkler above head height with an old pipe across the fencing so it waters like rain. Also we have so many gophers and moles I had to put in a floor to block them from going underneath the ground. We have 9 walk around raised beds inside the kennel because raised bed get a bit warmer for good growth. Next year we have to replace the floor with something that won't rot. Was thinking aluminum but too expensive/ extravagant.... any ideas on a floor?
  13. IBM, where in the world do you come up with the appropriate pics like that ? That looks just like Dave Ripley gettin' his coffee.
  14. Mike's gonna put on one of the old locomotive fronts so the deer shoot right over the truck
  15. Deer whistles are just another cool aid kinda like trusting hot air Hillary .
  16. I always wanted to ask..... do those deer whistles do any good? Someone said they scare the deer into jumping in front of you so they aren't much benefit.
  17. With a two inch level kit you need to adjust the axle back to center. And like others say, with a load you will have the rear sag so you'll need to go with air bags like I had to, too get the rear to match up. It also takes time to readjust the steering wheel back to the 12 o'clock position. Took me about 4 times before it was true again.
  18. I will pick you up at the airport in Boise Dave and you can sleep on Dinette (Converts into extra bed). I only hope you are short cause it only measures about 5'-10'' long. Not like your palace on wheels, but will suffice. Hey it's got bathroom so you don't need to run outside. An you guys won't make fun of me brushing my one tooth left in my head
  19. Isn't that traffic nice Joe? I saw you with a smile on your face as if your thinking the traffic is a joke it's gotten so bad. It's amazing isn't it? We had it good for so many good years with an uncrowded state. I remember how nice it was too. Your smile carried a pleasant thought how your getting out soon.
  20. Go for breakfast at Beavercreek and then head out. Love their breakfast there. Don't mind 55 I can see us living longer not driving suicidal and not stressed over passing everyone.
  21. It is amazing what some folks will post up and state as facts and cannot back it up with facts. I have been mislead with other subjects in the past. I will always stick with the 2 cycle oil for an additive. You really notice a difference driving an old 12 valve when you dump it in the tank. IIt's always a big improvement.
  22. I've noticed more deer lately on the roads. Been going slower than the speed limit since I saw a couple in a small car try to avoid hitting a buck and doe and they ended on the side of the car in a deep roadside ditch. They were lucky. Those deer will walk one way as if they are going off the road as you approach, a lot of them do, but the others suddenly turn and go right in front of you in a panic.
  23. Cool Nick, I think it will be a nice summertime run from Colorado. Looking forward to it Joe. Where can we meet up?
  24. Joe, would you like to make this run together? I have some handhelds too? Anyone else running from western Oregon/ Washington is welcome to run along
  25. It's actually a good place even w/o shade because those that boon dock are close enough to walk over/ visit with those that want full hook ups. It works this way and IBM and I have canopies for shade and there's a beer store there
