  1. Mike is your homeowner's insurance been out to see that yet? I would think they would be a great help according to what they've done in the past for me as a contractor and homeowner. Often affording enough money to rebuild even better than original. I would also contact F.E.M.A. they will help you in a situation like this. I'm glad everyone is okay... may try to save those trusses if not broken. Save everything that is in good shape because the new lumber is terrible compared to the old. Turn the new shop 90 degrees and away from the bank. Move the driveway a bit if needed. Situations like this I just grin and bear, have helped many homeowners in worse situations. Always getting it done, sometimes overcoming the seemingly impossible. P.S. Sometimes the plywood and roofing will lift off the trusses very easily by using the track hoe thumb. Weve stripped off the plywood and roofing and placed in stacked sheets in a dumpster in just an hour or two. If works well.
  2. Thats good see if you have resistance on the alt ground or run your own ground Alt frame to the ground post on the battery. I used one of the Alt housing screws and heavy gauge wire to the neg on the battery. Done this to both my 2nd gens.
  3. Not sure if it will help but, check the alternator grounding that goes thru the mounting bracket. The pivot bolt gets corrosion on the bolt head and bracket. I ran a separate ground from alt housing to the passenger battery. Also check make sure you eliminated the factory grey connection clip on that ground wire to the passenger battery. I think it goes to the PCM if not mistaken. That grey connector is P.O.S. WT wants that connector removed and solder the wire together.
  4. JAG1 replied to Mace's topic in Introductions
I haven't posted for quite a while... have to say, Mace's work, quality of post and information needs to be a sticky. I hope Mike agrees!
  5. What's been your average miles gained on these Mastertech VP's before needing another? Should be getting quite a lot of miles for each rebuilt VP. I think I heard something like 250 K miles.
  6. There are better qualified people on here than I am but, did you get the VP from a certified Bosch rebuilder? In other words, this intermittent may test good at the moment of testing but the PSG board on top of the VP may not have been changed as per Bosch's requirements. just my thoughts here.
  7. My alarm kept going off without any reason. I was using the key all the time because I am prone to losing my FOB. One day I pulled the drivers door panel and found the end of the cylinder lock with the wire coming off the end. If I held the wire by pulling on it gently in the direction of the door hinges, the alarm would not go off like it always did so annoyingly. I proceeded to use a series of zip ties to mimic the positioning of the wire when pulling on it. It, been 7 years since and the alarm sets off only once in a blue moon now. I think also being that I am lazy, I did not wrap the alarm control box with aluminum foil as so many have recommended, that cell phones will set it off. I hope you can get this figured out. I am not all that much of a techie, since I work hard still and do well enough as a day dreamer LOL.
  8. PilotHouse2500 brought it to my attention that MoparMan hasn't been seen lately on the forum. Hoping he's okay.
  9. I hope your getting better and better Mike. My age is something I am fighting since I get tired much more easily these days. I have not been on much after spending all my energy helping others with water problems (seems a recurring problem in Oregon). Also fixing/ solving many things around the house. I am an accomplisher, like to work and I am not a member of the yak yak tribe like my wife. Anyway she is not totally well, so I do much of the shopping and housework too which I don't mind.
  10. Whatever I need I can usually rifle thru his truck and find it
  11. Mike there is nothing wrong with praying for others in need. You have no idea what events God can influence and how much He knows, so you need to have a spirit of forgiveness toward others and not make them go away or by putting them off. A spirit of forgiveness is to forgive beFORE hand alway, having no contention bud There... that was your Sunday lesson for today, others too if they like.
  12. That's why even if had a Trillion bucks I wouldn't be buying any new rigs with all the electronics on them. I would luv a fully restored 55 chevy Nomad and I wish my wife could look that good too
  13. I once shorted out my ECM on crazy moment I had and my instrument cluster was running crazy. Everything on the gauges was off normal readings. So this may not help But, I disconnected my batteries for a lengthy time and drained all the capacitors by turning everything on with both batteries disconnected. I was happy to find this corrected everything and solved what I thought was a major problem, i.e. a shorted out ECM I think you have a fried fuse somewhere hopefully
  14. I think he is afraid it will get stolen. How many of you guys years ago experienced the nightmare of having bought something only to find out that it was junk from the factory? I think many of us got burned in those days and so when Dodge dropped a Cummins engine in their truck line up it was the talk of the town and just about everyone I met in those days.
  15. When cleaning grounds I think it is best to use Dielectric grease as opposed to painting them. Additional note about Dielectric grease, it is interesting that the OHM meter will show that it does not conduct electricity but, it does however prevent corrosion by protecting the metals. That is why I like to use the grease that has copper mixed in the grease. I Forget what that stuff is called, if someone could chime in. I took mine back after finding that I paid 75 bucks for a small bottle of it at Platt Electric. Another member found it much less expensive somewhere on line. I think it was W-T. That man knows his way around electricity and why God made it to behave the way it does.
  16. JAG1 commented on Mopar1973Man's Cummins article in Electrical
It is in blue letters under the top banner about middle of right and left
  17. Mike you got this wrong, totally wrong. All I said was to help you, which several members expressed that they don't like to see those pics of the wigs and makeup that's it. Nothing more. Anything else was to help you understand why folks say that 'they will pray for you' so you would no longer be annoyed by it. I been tryin' to help you understand why people say that since many feel they have no answer when confronted with a situation and all I get is this post above that turns it into a big licorice twist being all my fault and has a flavor of tar. You need God in your heart my friend and to let Him do his work.
  18. Timbo apps is the way to go... much less expensive more reliable
  19. I like 5 o' clock pm of course. I'm on Pacific standard time so really anytime to help others.
  20. It's all good Mike. Strength isn't just knowing how to cope Mike. Strength also does not come from others, it comes from within. Facing adversity with a faith that, in spite of your doubts, you dig deeper into your soul with Jesus and the Father until you can give, patiently and allow it the full breadth of time. You will be stronger by never giving up on faith and enjoy a very simple real hope and happiness from within. You have to be a true unending believer is the key my friend.
  21. Are you saying you hear them outside? Now in winter?
  22. @PilotHouse2500, I am savin up for it but, you keep adding so much value I can't keep pace.
  23. Can you buy extra items to have on hand Mike? Soon everything will be back on an even keel and you'll get it back together.
