Reservations for Full Eclipse weekend
We would have to rethink location in terms of path of full eclipse. Where ever it crosses a national forest, maybe Mike can chime in with an idea on a lake perhaps...... an open area to view the eclipse. I think so two.. I think Mike has a water gun that is a bazooka if you need to cooling off

Reservations for Full Eclipse weekend
Michael Nelson, you know the area better, is there some other place we might think about? Maybe has lots of trees, no bugs at least some wind to blow them away off a lake in the evening? I'm thinking more pristine national forest for boon docking. get everyone more happy about surroundings

Reservations for Full Eclipse weekend
I had no idea.... Dan you know it's going to be hot and it's your vacation time. Show me the ropes, help me write it all down and I can do the install when I get home. Can't have you working on your vacation bud.

No fuel pressure even with new lift pump
Not understanding everything described there but at any rate you are sure both return and supply is clear and free flowing? What about the factory fuel filter.... could you have disturbed some debris that is now overwhelmed the filter? After I moded my fuel system I found that I had to tape small tubing to a shop vac and suck out a bunch of stuff out of the filter bowl and provide a new filter.

No fuel pressure even with new lift pump
Okay..... what about the small plastic cylinder shape that on or inline with the pick up tube? Did you remove that and go straight tubing for a new drawstraw? Is there a screen inside the new fuel pump inlet? I removed that too and let my big prefilter now do the work. Some of the old ones had screens. Don't know about the new ones.

No fuel pressure even with new lift pump
Two things could be happening...... One is the tank vent can get clogged and a vacuum is building inside the tank. Ashop nearby says they have seen several fuel tanks almost completely collapsed. Second, is the problem could be in the tank with debri build up on the module screens or module fuel filter. Fuel filter inside the module, at least on my 02 was a small white plastic cylinder shaped container with screens inside. Or the pick up tube is sucking debri. One or the other. I cut out the screens, removed the module filter and installed a larger accessable filter before the lift pump. I can change it out anytime I need. Sometimes you get bad fuel and need access to it for a ready change out. Get a vented fuel cap that will fit on the filler neck. This site should be selling those out of the store.

For crying out loud!
You could call someone out of town. You would have to pay the extra travel time. The most important thing is to tell them not to blow in the fire retardant newspaper stuff. It's not as good because it settles and won't flame but it does smolder. The chopped fiberglass, the white stuff, is the very best and will give higher values. One last item is to go in the attic with a light, before they put away the hose, to look and see that it is all done correctly. I've had them short cut the depth specified or not do some hidden areas.

Fuel pressure problem, again
Eric has the adapters to rid the AD of the quick connects. He also set me up so that I could put in the old oem pump if needed to get me home.. He told me I need to get rid of the quick connects and rid myself of headaches before I ever installed the Air Dog pump. If anyone wants them I have them still new in the box. Wondering if you could hook up 5 pounds of air pressure to the fuel line down by the tank then go around with a spray bottle of soapy water to find the leaks with bubbles.??

Mike, are you saying this boondock spot just to the left of the rv park is within walk distance for the folks that want hook ups in the park? Close enough to make it work, right? I have 10x10 canopy and chairs.

Mike might be easier to have additional insulation blown in the attic. To the tune of about an R-38 value would help you I think. Blow -in is better than the roll in or batt insulation. Need to add baffles so you don't block attic vents with the insulation.

Summer isn't here for 3 more days. Actually I've seen many June days you still need heat. Used to see it more often 30 years ago though. We are due for a cool summer this time around more so than any other years since it has been such a long time since we've had a cool wet summer. We used to get them every so often. pray for cool weather we need it.

Still waiting for the park to call back........ Whatever I bring IBM, going to be difficult to top what you and Dave did. I will though IBM, if your going up 395 I want you to know that the county road that cuts off from 395 in Ukia to LaGrand (highway 84) has two very nice campgrounds not well known. They are both within about 5-6 miles from 84. There is no such thing as not having milkshakes in August, Mike

I'll be at the RV park Mike. There's a store there for beer and full hook ups. A bit more relaxing when your in a spot knowing it's okay. Me can chip in for full hook ups if you wish. BTW, IBM Mobile is one of the great ones to camp with

Thank You IBM..... I completely forgot about doing this. Will make my reservation today. What area on the camp site map are you in? Was thinking about us taking sites 1 thru 6... more if needed at that end of the park site map anyhow. Anyone wanting to meet up should make your reservation early as possible as this full eclipse event is going to get popular. Now if we could just get Michael Nelson to stop scotch brightening his running gear for the weekends he could show up too!

Fuel pressure problem, again
I had your very same problems once and it turned out to be that I did not torque the factory fuel filter down to 25 foot pounds as required. Plus if you use the square center hole instead of the big socket, it takes, you can cause the filter cap to crack and not even be able to see the crack. He he I was so afraid I would crack that plastic cap that I made it only a little snug. Soon as I got the big socket with a 10 inch extension I was able to get it to 25 ft. pounds as required and it stopped my fuel from draining back to the ( tank drain back problem) Eric showed me how to heat the ends of the hose and then they slip right on the barbs. Eric is a real hoser and love the guy.

Washington State Gun owners stage the largest felony civil disobedience rally in American history
I tell you right now there would never be an extremist Jihadi suicidal idiot show up around there to murder 50 - 200 people as they are not only cowards but he'd be shot so full of holes they would never be able to identify him.

3rd to 4th gear flaring??
Need to drop the pan and filter, adjust the bands if needed. It's shifted strangely just two times... like a delay from 3-4th and then a sudden clunk with a hard shift into 4th. It's weird...possibly change out sensors whatever you might recommend after seeing it Thinking about making it out your way whenever you would like with your scedule as this 02 does not get driven a whole lot. Just hauls the slide in camper is all. August or September possibly.

3rd to 4th gear flaring??
Kind like my transmission ...sometimes confused which bathroom or gear supposed to be in so I just go out in the woods. Dynamic..... I'm wondering if you have time to do a service on my trans? Possible tune up with some new solenoides?! 88,000 miles on the 02 now. Thank you

Neighbors 03 starts hard
My first gen has about 425,000 miles on it, still runs smooth as glass. What do I try listening for when it's time to replace them? Even the hoses are still original.

Fuel pressure problem, again
Eric had what I needed and paid him ten dollars a few years ago. I've been to his place several times and always enjoyed what he had to say and what he's done for me.
-
Fuel pressure problem, again
Eric at vulcan told me to get rid of those quick connect fittings because they are a problem. As a result he sold me all the right fittings to go with regular barbed fittings and rubber hose and stainless clamps.

Lost another alternator...
I've heard a lot of bad things about rebuilds. Since they give a lifetime warrantee to meet competition they just provide another quick and fast rebuild when yours goes bad. Example, my oem starter motor lasted years on my first gen truck but now that I'm on free rebuilds... third one now... they only last about 2-4 years now.

Lost another alternator...
Is it possible to mod an alternator so the diodes are external and you could change them out while the wife goes and buys you a Milkshake and hamburger? Just a drweamer here but, one more way our trucks could have a more reliable set up.
