  1. finally finished. plenty of blood, sweat, tears and pain. Got him where i want him.
  2. got the hids installed in the daylighters and everything fits nicely in the enclosure. these things are stupid bright reaching out quarter mile easily!!!!!! the pic is testing them before mounting back on truck
  3. this was on regular cb no license required. get a cb radio with upper and lower sideband capability, install and tune the antenna and you are in like flint!
  4. 11m CB was open for a few hours this afternoon and i was skipping all the way to australia from wisconsin. we could talk clearly!!. i spoke with a few people in maine as well along with about 10 other states.
  5. i was able to get a used dash trim in perfect condition for the price of a case of soda, i reorganized the positions of the phones and took the time to shape the brackets so no need for any wood which was a PITA to shape... basically same setup just the far right phone is now under the radio on the lip of the dash trim. works out real good too
  6. installed amber cover on lower bar for fog. also in process of shaping a 2x2 piece of wood for a flat surface to mount the phones attachments and ham unit to. pics to come
  7. lmao add storm chasing to it... it really isnt that bad. most of the time im stationary when using all of it when driving the phones are reference info, the radio is just pick up the mic and talk, im not really distracted
  8. my setup in the truck, the dash mounted phone and ham head units will look better and level when i get a 1"x2" and trim it to the contour of the trim ring then mount everything back onto the flat surface (coming soon) the old phones have full functionality other than no cell service. i can still do anything on them with a wifi connection. i can set one up as a dashcam, clinometer, moving map, speedo, ham data referencing, anything you can think of. being they are iphones i can send pics and vid to my main phone that has cell service and post online.
  9. this is the center cubby i made for the radios and extra storage, the ft7900 sits on the inside of the front wall and the stryker site on outside of the front wall. the ft7900 has a detachea le faceplate that is mounted on the dash trim along with 3 phone mounts i use for various running apps while driving. ill get pics today and post them i ran the two power feeds under the shifter housing so its clean

  13. wiring is going very well and i should be done tomorrow. yaaay
  14. well it fits and hood closes with room.
  15. hahaha! i dont beat on the truck too badly, i gotta make it last!
  16. so today i got both front bars and rear pods installed along with the 10m ham and 102" whip. Yes everyone was right in asking where im putting this relay unit as i highly overestimated the space (none) so i found a solution that actually works well. Magnets! i will stick the relay box to the underside of the hood, when i lift the hood the cables have enough length to span the gap. if i need to get it out the way i just pull it off and move it, ease of access too! this weekend will be the wiring madness!
  17. for anyone who wants to make their own
  18. finished, now to install, run new wiring to lights and switches and install lights
  19. that makes a ton of sense! thanks mike ill do that!
  20. connectors (hv side done) gotta get more connectors for switch side either on the underside of the hood or positioned with velcro in the corner on driverside near the hinge of hood. ill tackle that challenge when i get there hahaha
  21. its in the case ready to mount to the truck. i will make some short quick disconnects that extend outside the box so i dont have to open the box aside from replacing fuses.
