  1. got the 5.5mm borescope in, 2 meter. it is as good or better than the 7mm i got and gave to my brother. the software that came with it works well too!! pic attached comparing head width to a lightning connector
  2. wish i could, due to a motorcycle accident in oct i barely can walk at the moment :/
  3. everyone slaps HD on stuff these days and i knew for the price it wasnt gonna be hd, however it does pretty good for our need of something that is used infrequently and usually costs hundreds for the high end stuff.
  4. these caneras have leds on them and they are usb so a tablet or laptop is needed
  5. no its from the geek app on my phone i havent bought from amazon
  6. nice! here is a snapshot from my pc looking at its own motherboard about 2" away with the borescope i got
  7. its not a page, its an app you download on the phone and purchase through, ive bought a lot through it so i can vouch for it.
  8. so i have this app called "geek" and it has mostly chinese stuff but a lot of it is good quality nicnac stuff.. i did find a borescope for about $8 that plugs into usb and works like a champ lights and all. then i searched for a 5.5mm borescope and they have them (size we need to get into the cylinder through injector hole). So i figured id let the community know of where to get a fairly good working borescope for engine inspection for cheap!!! i w et agead and purchased the one in the pic and will do a write up on it. Mike if its possible to make this a global post so everyone sees it and can use the info please do!
  9. thats probably where they source their clutch material from then they assemble the whole unit.
  10. question, you do fill the oil filter up when putting a new one on yes?
  11. here is a long term rebuild update, its been a hectic year since rebuild... Moved to florida from colorado 1900 miles towing trailer same size as when the engine ate itself. No issues. then got a job in wisconsin another 1900 miles from florida with same trailer again and even went up a nasty grade in north carolina out of asheville and had zero issues. next up is sanding the bumper and rhino lining it instead of paint, also sand the running boards and bed down and rhino line them as well (rusty up here from salt)
  12. i have a valair clutch, handles 600hp 1000tq and it is very nice once it broke in. valair or south bend is the way to go, south bend is better though (i had a tight budget for the clutch)
  13. last thing to swap is the vp44 since you still get a knock. yes it may have been rebuilt, yes it may seem good, until its swapped you will never know. things do and can go bad for no reason.
  14. is your brake reservior getting lower through time? only thing i can think of is brake fluid leaking past seals while sitting and filling up the hydro assist lines. hard to tell the difference between PS fluid and brake fluid when mixed
  15. if you are running 35" tires, you will be appx 5mph slow on the speedo @"45mph and above" per gps readings
  16. the cam sensor is a #8 or #10 torx. get in there nice and good with an extension and dont strip it. here is a pic of what it looks like and location with inj pump removed
  17. before you touch anything near the fuel lines pressure wash that area of the head then blow it clean or just blow it clean. dont want gunk getting in there.
  18. Truck of the month here! looking real good TF!!!!
  19. yeah you shouldnt have to touch the injector hold downs at all. loosen the lines and remove them out the way then with a small flatblade screw driver gently pry them out of the holes and you are good
  20. i want to do the lining on my truck too, keep the rust away.
  21. yeah those new cam lobes and tappets need to mate together and in that process they hammer themselves and generate heat. makes sense
  22. well lets to an experiment. just to see what the difference will do. i used shellac on all gaskets, you didnt, lets see who starts to see oil or a leak and we can learn from that. sound good? I already have 3500mi on the rebuild and nothing yet. And no this isnt a "you did it wrong" thing, i honestly want to know if doing it differently has different outcomes
