  1. Check this out guys!!!! http://www.wimp.com/australianchainsaw/
  2. Yes it could be worse…………………….we could be Canadians!!
  3. Was Forrest Gore among them???
  4. For the rear differential, you'll need a "friction-modifier" for the clutches in "limited slip" rear you've got. Follow the manual……………….can't really go wrong doing that.
  5. Just a quick question here…………….. The spacer/block/puck style leveling kits………………..are they flat or do they have a slight wedge shape to accommodate the rotation/arc of the axle after install???
  6. 200,222 when I pulled into my drive this afternoon. Hey, the sun is shining now!!!!
  7. Better watch out W&F!!!!! Them NODAK winters get longer all the time!!!!
  8. I disagree. Just the weight of the larger tires has an effect on how the suspension works. Search………..sprung vs. un-sprung weight.
  9. But it happens on trucks with "leveling kits" to a much greater extent based on % stock DW vs. % leveled DW. And then throw in the BFG AT's!!! Larger tires changes the "leverage" involved needed to turn the wheel; and that extra leverage affects how the suspension works. Larger tires will put more load on bearings and suspension parts……………..even moreso if you put different rims on with greater offset…………….…………….and the extra weight of larger tires affects the suspension aspect of the DW. Sprung vs. un-sprung weight definitely has an affect on DW. The control arm suspension on the front of our trucks is inherently unstable.
  10. UNLESS you get the adjustable track bar, and longer control arms; you are shifting the front axle of the truck to the rear and toward the drivers side with a "leveling kit". That alone affects the geometry of how the front end works when going down the road going over bumps even if everything is "tight"!!
  11. Some snow pix................
  12. Never made it out to shovel again last night. It's still snowing this AM………………probably got 12-14"+ now!!
  13. But it's a "dry" cold!!!
  14. Leveling Kit = Death Wobble starter kit IMHO!!! Could be track bar bushings, tie rod ends, steering box, etc. That couple with the fact that you change the entire geometry of the front end by doing this…………………………unless you get longer control arms and an adjustable track bar!!! You just enhanced the probability of DW happening by a factor of about 10 by adding a leveling kit. Spacers only right??!!
  15. Update………………….still snowing………………….a bit harder now………………………gonna have to shovel another 5-6" at least later…………………just so I don't have to shovel more than that tomorrow morning!!! Future forecast is calling for snow here until about 6:00AM tomorrow. That future forecast also showed projected highs here for next week Mon and Tues of being -8 and -3*…………….for "high" temps!!!!
  16. Go to the link I posted prior; you'll find what's wrong, I guarantee it. It tells you specifically what is wrong and explains it a lot better than I can. If I can do it, you can also.
  17. Not on the 3rd gens……………………it will just stay in either the recirculation mode or the fresh mode. It will NOT block air flow……………..I know, I had to change the door on my truck. I still had "air" prior to the fix.
  18. Yes. That would be the "mode" door that is broken. Actually it's the stop/indexing pin that's broken. Mode being the change from the panel to the floor to the windshield etc. I've not replaced that one yet on my truck, because it still is fine.
  19. Actually, the "stop" breaks off because it's cheap plastic that breaks over time. After the stops breaks, there's nothing for the ECM to "index" the motor against. The HeaterTreater doors are metal with metal connections and stops that connect to the DC motors.
  20. It's been snowing here essentially non-stop now since about 1:00PM yesterday. Shoveled about 9-10" of snow earlier today…….10:00AMish…………….probably have another 2-3" now. Cut a load of future firewood both yesterday and on Monday, and I can't see it now!!!! I just unloaded it in the front yard, just off the sidewalk. Temp is about 20*F now…………..this is all coming off Lake Michigan (lake effect snow) as the wind is straight out of the East off the lake. It's cold, so the snow is real light and dry.
  21. On the 3rd gens, all the 'doors" (recirculation, blend/temp and mode) are controlled by DC motors. THERE ARE NO VACUUM CONTROLS!!!!
  22. Too many "beans" in that septic tank.
  23. Go here……………..http://www.heatertreater.net Good product; I've replaced the "recirculation door" and the "blend door" on my .04.5
  24. Hell thath no fury like those that make fun of their elders……...
