Oil pump housing failure, probable rebuild...
Can't help but think that this failure had something to do with your cam swap, since a portion of the timing cover is what is believed to be the root cause. Just saying.

Heater Treater
Packing, you do not need to order all the doors in the kit if only one of your doors is broken. The price will be less then.

Oil pump housing failure, probable rebuild...
Come on, man……………………you're not "holding off" on us; are you?????? Delay in the "tear-down"??? What up??? I'm like an "expectant" father here………………...

Why???
Much of the "training" of horses is done not only to keep them fit, but to teach them to engage their rear ends when being ridden. Engaging the "gluteus" of the horse causes the abdomen to lift and the back to straighten, and the neck to round and then set the head for the horse to be "on the bit".

Why???
It doesn't. But for many Americans; just that little bit of exertion of a manual crank handle would burn a calorie or three………….and over the life of the vehicle, one could say that it helped someone lose "X" pounds of weight!!! But who am I to say…………………………….I weigh the same now than when I graduated HS in '82. My Mom is only about 20lbs. heavier than when her and Dad got married……………………..she's about 140lbs. now. Twas a bad day today……………………started out good………………but went down fast. Had an argument about a horse with the trainer today. No problems when the trainer rides…………………….but put the 300lb. woman/owner on the horses back………………………that's where the issues started. Won't go into detail…………………………….sorry guys, just venting.

Why???
Remember when you could buy a vehicle with "MANUAL" window cranks, door locks buttons, seat adjustment levers, mirror adjustment, etc.??? It was a rather "RARE" event that one of those things failed over the life of the vehicle………………………however; if it did it was relatively easy to replace for the average stupid American!!! Not so now!!!Can you even purchase a "new" vehicle with "manual anything"??? If not, why not??? Are we Americans…………..and Canadians………………that effffing lazy now???? I loved the vinyl floors that I "ordered" on my '99. When I ordered my '04.5, I was told I couldn't get them!!! Why????It's no wonder that more and more Americans grow up "fat, drunk, and stupid"………:soap:Bad day…...

What; if any, maintenance should I do on MightyWhitey at or around 200k?? Sitting at 196,1xx now, and have a few trips lined up for the near future. I did my normal yearly maintenance a month ago prior to my NoDak trip.I've NEVER done a...................valve lash adjustment, fully bled the power steering, coolant/water pump change, injector change, radiator hose change-out, and prolly some more that I cannot think of right now. She's running good and getting good mileage.:thumb1:What say y'all??!!

Can someone educate me? Superchip Cortex Programmer
Are you "lugging" the engine whilst driving these hills??? 'Tis better to downshift to a lower gear and have the engine rev higher and stay cool vs. lugging and getting warm!!!

Are those the iron/steel pistons that read about on CompD a couple years ago...................or are they still aluminium???

Oil pump housing failure, probable rebuild...
 Started the "tear-down" yet???I'm curious as to what the "innards" of the Cummins looks like after the amount of miles you have on yours....................seeing I've better than the double the miles on mine. 196,1xx on MightyWhitey now. Hope it's not "too" painful.

TIRES - Sizes, brands, etc. - What do you run?
Wider than stock tires "stress" the bearings and suspension components due to the greater "off-set" required of the rims. I don't see how a narrower tire will do this.

TIRES - Sizes, brands, etc. - What do you run?
Wanna see some bad roads.............come the northern "The Peoples Republic of Illinois"!!!! The gravel roads in NoDak are smoother than most of our crumbly paved roads here!!! IMHO, the paved state highways in NoDak are beautiful to drive on!!! W&F...........one reason may be that the "narrower" tires often times have a taller sidewall than the wider tires.........especially if you want to stay close to the same diameter of the tire/rim combo. The taller sidewall flexes more than the "lower profile" tires and won't handle as well. That's one reason to air up the tires..............to stiffen the sidewall. Stock tire size on my '04.5 is LT265/70 17E.....................I sure with I could find a LT255/80 17E or a LT245/85 17E

You're a "sick" individual!!!- TIRES - Sizes, brands, etc. - What do you run?
Pizza cutter type tires are way better in and on snow and ice than the "wide and cool looking" CF type tires. JMNTBHO!!!- Prayer Time for MoparMom
I swear, that I don't know anyone that likes to eat Lima beans!!!!- Extreme cold!!!
The Cenex and most every other fuel station I've ever filled up at in NoDak have always been labeled. Even in the smaller towns. That's been my experience though...............your's may vary!!!- Extreme cold!!!
How is your truck kept????? In garage??? Out all night and day???? Granted it gets much colder up in GF, NoDak than here where I'm at; but I've used nothing as a fuel additive in my '04.5 except 2 stroke oil since about 2005-2006. No gelling problems for me. And I've driven a few times in temps as low as -15* or so for hundreds of miles also without fuel problems. Just saying.- Lift pump
I'd have to agree. My Walbro changes sound as the pressure builds..............and if the grid heater goes off prior to starting. Once it's equalized, it runs for the 30 seconds or so until I start the truck. - Prayer Time for MoparMom
