Skid steers
With the recent sale of my 5ther, my bonds have finally been released of that debt! It has been refreshing to finally realize that i no longer have that hanging over my head! While i do plan on saving money, sometimes money must also be invested. We've been thinking on priority purchases, and an agreement was made that we want a skid steer. Preferably before winter so it can be used for snow removal. I also want it to use to move my beehives. It's going to get allot of use in that department as i keep growing my apiary. Then there's need for it with other attachments that it can take the place of a tractor. If need be i can do odd jobs with it and make some extra money on the side. This was how i was able to justify the purchase. Otherwise it would have been a snow plow. Which can be used only for one thing and only during one season of the year. Now, my problem is, i know NOTHING about skid steers. Bobcat is pretty much the only brand i think ill go with considering the attachments they have available. That and the conversion kits that are made for them to use in beehive logistics will only for bobcat. So the question is which model? Definitely don't want to break the bank doing this either. Who knows their stuff about the little machines? School me, oh wise people!

Idaho in extreme fire danger
Where in at at least in my locale, we are in an extreme fire danger. It's not the first time this has happened. But things are different for me now. Now I've got a home and property to try and protect. I've recently acquired an ibc tote and 2 inch trash pump that ill be using to feed my bees sugar syrup. But I've scheming up a plan for fire prevention and suppression. I'm working on creating my defensible spaces but i also need to get the suppression plan in place. While i realize there's no excuse for the big guns, strategy and tactics cone into play and can be effective also. At a local farm and feed store they sell a beginners kit that has a high pressure pump with hose line and nozzles etc. Kit is around 700 dollars. I plan on also acquiring a 2500 gallon water tank to use as a cistern for emergency water reserve. I'm probably going to see what interest there may be in the local fire department using it in am incident action plan. My train of thought is to utilize it in an emergent situation, filling my ibc tote when needed. The tote will be in my truck and the 2 inch pump will be a relay pump for the high pressure pump. I dunno if it will actually be needed to assist high pressure pump but i dunno what distances the high pressure pump can cover before losing it due to friction loss. I should be pretty mobil with my setup in my truck if needed. I've also seen class AB foam nozzles you can use to effectively increase your fire suppression capabilities. I've got another long term plan of buying a skid steer that i can use to haul the ibc tote around with to maybe get into less favorable places that the truck can't go. Anyone familiar with a fire suppression plan? What did you do?

Quart low every month?
I told my mother in law to contact the dealer first to see what can be done. We'll escalate it from there if there is no remediation. Hoping it doesn't come to legal action...

Quart low every month?
Well last night i found out that her car is actually an '08. That's ridiculous that the coverage has an expiration. Leaves most people high and dry! We bought the vehicle after that date from the dealer and they never warned us about this. That's frustrating...

Quart low every month?
Is this a dealer covered item or is it a, "oh yeah, this is whats wrong, but you pay it." Type fix?

Quart low every month?
Mother in law has a 2011 Toyota rav4. Recently she said she's been having to add about a quart once a month to keep the oil level from going low. I've been knocking theories around in my head and would like input. I had her put cardboard under the car to see if it has been leaking. Nothing dripping. The exhaust isn't smoky nor smell like burning oil. The fuel mileage and performance and drivability is un changed. She's not growing coolant either. I don't get how she's losing a quart a month without noticing how? Any one have ideas? I told her next oil change have them look under the car for leaks. If nothing is found in thinking compression testing..

Im a bit overwhelmed...
In conjunction with recent schooling I've attended, statistics have been showing that elderly suicide has spiked. It's unfortunate to know that the elder no longer feel valued in this world. I suspect it has allot to do with them ending up in nursing homes and also not wanting to end up in a condition in a nursing home...

Im a bit overwhelmed...
Yea i guess what i should be doing is trying to add "youth" to my life instead. The other tradeoff is that allot of commercially made sun screen is dangerous to your health also. So it's coming to a point where you gotta start making your own stuff so you know what's in it.

Breathing compressor air
Yea i have no idea. The system is in a restricted area... Ive wondered about how to go about confirming this. The idea of having a surprise osha visit was a consideration but i don't want it to come back on me..

Im a bit overwhelmed...
Hello all. Hate to sound negative, but i have had another recent development. I could use more of those prayers! My wife's mother, is in her late 50s. She's had cancer twice in her life now. This time she informed us that she has what's called actinic cheilitis. Pre cancerous skin condition. Involves exposure to the sun without protection. It's not a generic thing from what i understand. She's undergoing treatment using a nuclear cream to start the process. But she told us she's done fighting if it doesn't work. I understand her sentiment as she's had a very hard life. I just ask for prayer from Anyone willing as i don't want her to end this way. Too many people around me leaving too soon...

Breathing compressor air
Is anyone familiar with the health side effects of breathing in compressor air for positive air respiration? I'm interested in chronic history of doing so from breathing it in. This is claimed to be grade D air, but i have been told now that it's the same regular air used to supply equipment. The air comes from the same compressor. Lately I've been having some respiratory trouble, more when i exert myself than not. I did terrible on a stress test and barely passed a physical i did for a prereq for a job. Going in for a chest xray to start focusing on the lungs as at least my heart checked out fine, thank God.

Make money from home?
Haha, good stuff... YouTube has changed. People are not making much money making good videos anymore. But your right, put a dumb one up and it'll be a hit. My mother in law dabbled in some at home work. A place north of us does call servicing. You call a place like a doctors office and if they're not available you get sent to the concierge service and they'll take info etc or give info to act as a virtual secretary for the business. It paid maybe 8 to 9 an hour if you were on the phone so many minutes out of an hour. So if you took breaks or lunch etc it didn't work... I would like to know more about the affiliate service that you can do with large companies like Amazon and Wal-Mart. You do virtual advertising and they pay you a commission if you get a sale through your ads. I'm not totally sure about medical transcription. You need some schooling to do it. Never considered it...

I've got a blue dot queen ill be doing grafting off of for any extra i make. She's survived 2 harsh N idaho winters for me so she must be doing something right. I dabbled in queen rearing last year and will do it again this year once i can get back into a regular schedule that's predictable enough to do it.

My ProForm Hiit Trainer Pro Elliptical Is Making A Worrisome Noise
Ugh! I'll pass on the ticks and chiggers! I lost 8 out of 12 but had enough honey money to replace them and buy a pallet of sugar. Going to buy 50 boxes for expansion and the anticipated flow with the extra honey money that came in. Harvested about 60 gallons last year off 12 hives. Donated some honey and managed to get others to pay a premium for the rest. Even got a stockpile set back for the wife to use so she's not being a bear. Pun intended! :D Going to try and expand more so i have something to try and send down to Cali for a guy to use with his hives. That way next spring they're all alive and ready to split in the spring!

47re 45mph hunt driving me insane
A rebuild with Kevlar clutches, higher line pressure valve body for towing/hauling, triple disc converter. The other day on the way home it was hunting again. Pulled over and disconnected the field lead like Mike said to do. Hunting went away. But after i ensured a reconnection it didn't do it afterwards anyways. Im leaning on it being the alternator again. I believe i bought a replacement at O'Reillys back in '13-'14. I didn't keep the receipt for it even though i think it was lifetime warranty. They have a system in place now to look purchases up to do warranty returns, but this was after my purchase. I just need to find a better alternator to replace it with so i don't have to spend money ever do often on a new but crap alternator. Where to get that though, i dunno...

Im a bit overwhelmed...
Well that settles it, gma has passed. 0415 today. Shall i grieve, or shall i rejoice? A bag of mixed emotions. But when i think of this certain situation, part of me remembers: 2 Corinthians 5: Awaiting the New Body 5 For we know that if the earthly tent we live in is destroyed, we have a building from God, an eternal house in heaven, not built by human hands. 2 Meanwhile we groan, longing to be clothed instead with our heavenly dwelling, 3 because when we are clothed, we will not be found naked. 4 For while we are in this tent, we groan and are burdened, because we do not wish to be unclothed but to be clothed instead with our heavenly dwelling, so that what is mortal may be swallowed up by life. 5 Now the one who has fashioned us for this very purpose is God, who has given us the Spirit as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come. 6 Therefore we are always confident and know that as long as we are at home in the body we are away from the Lord. 7 For we live by faith, not by sight. 8 We are confident, I say, and would prefer to be away from the body and at home with the Lord. 9 So we make it our goal to please him, whether we are at home in the body or away from it. 10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each of us may receive what is due us for the things done while in the body, whether good or bad. not having her anymore, hurts in the aspect that i can't talk to her anymore or see her or share anymore memories with her. But one day, i will see her again! Amen!

Im a bit overwhelmed...
Thanks guys. Yesterday i got a chance to do a video call with my grandmother while she was in the hospital. I'm happy to have had been able to. Because today i guess she is now in coma state. It was the final goodbye, see you later ill miss you, exchange. Ive been reading, the term is called rallying. People who are dying suddenly seem to get better for a while then suddenly pass. Thinking back i think this is what she did then, because she was requesting to talk to everyone she could. She has been off fluids food for several days and the hospital said people last only a few days usually but can last longer. She was on day 7. She's one tough woman. Strongest I've ever seen. She was telling me about how people were talking to her(not living) and she wanted to see her dad. She said she could hear music too. Regardless, I'm better now. I took 2 hours away from work to have the call and went back to work after. I made peace with it and seem to handle okay for now. When i get the message that she is finally passed, i may be different but I'll know it's finally over for her... i anticipate it happening sometime this weekend. I've got family coming up for a big picture and the grandpa is going to be there too. That'll be the next one to focus on. Problem is he is kinda already gone so to speak. But we'll shall continue on and try to make memories anyways... Went to the docs today for a follow-up. Retested the urine and didn't find any blood! Hey thought it was strange considering he said their test kit was maxed out with blood count on the first test. I say it was the power of prayer! ;)

Im a bit overwhelmed...
Could use some prayers... In recent development, my grandpa that has recently made his way into our family's life, has been diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor. Hospice is coming in. I was just told today that it is twice the size of a walnut now. It's a vey aggressive and fast and rare cancer. He probably won't make it to fall of this year. He has a living will and a DNR. Essentially its in his thalamus so it'll end up killing him through dehydration and starvation according to the doctors. His dnr states that he will not receive care or intervention. I get to watch my grandpa die in a cruel way. We pray he goes in his sleep instead of the cancer. As if it didn't get worse, my grandmother, who i briefly spoke about, whom i visited last summer, is currently in her death bed. They've disabled her pacemaker and they've stopped giving any food or fluids. She has had many esophageal issues. At one point it was perforated and had surgery. Then she had more problems with it lately and was going to get surgery. But then she got sick. That made it complicated. So now, instead of a surgery and going home, she's sick and really dying. Both grandparents from both sides of my parents, passing away in a very narrow time frame. I was hoping to spend more time with them. Looks like there has been a change in plans. Mike, i can't say how thankful i am for your help last year in receiving your help. Despite how you feel about your actions it has at least enabled me to see my grandmother for the last time. ... and last but not least, on top of this, I've been urinating blood. I've already gone in and the doctor ran a test. It is not a UTI. I'm concerned it could be cancer. The doctor was thrown off by the whole thing considering my age of 28. He wants me to come back in for more testing. He doesn't think it is kidney stones because i don't have any pain to speak of. I personally just don't want to end with cancer or dialysis. I just need some prayers from the mopar family as this has been a trying time for me and my whole family. Thanks... And if nothing else I'm just able to vent to the world...

47re 45mph hunt driving me insane
Ever since its warmed up, that gear hunting has come back. It's even worse now. Just out of curiosity, i called a transmission shop and asked them. They said it could be one or both governor pressure solenoid or a check ball in the valve body. How likely is that? It seems temperature dependant, which baffles me. Is the consensus still AC noise from the alternator?

Sweet find in my woods
As luck has it, somehow my request to try morels went out into the universe and came back with an answer! A co-worker happened on some morels, and she gave me a quart baggy full as a sample! I cooked up about half of them last night and ate them all in one sitting! Definitely a new mushroom to add to the list. I dunno if its normal or not and may have been my cooking style but they were a but rubbery chewing them. That might be the only qualms i had with them. Nonetheless, tasty in their own way!
