I've actually kicked the electric heat on to help! I dunno how you do w&f... walk outside and the eyeballs and nostrils get frozen and it makes you cough to breathe it in... It's not even officially winter yet! I do recall the almanac saying it was going to be a cold year!

I don't imagine i see myself doing a whole lot of plowing. i may take a few side jobs if need be but I'll have to cherry pick them. Got more experience plowing tonight on the loop. me and the wife are convinced it was a good investment compared to me fighting plowing with the 4 Wheeler. it'll still stick around, but i won't plow with it again unless i need it for some tight areas or something happens to the blade.

The day has come! I got it a month or so ago. been itching to try it. got it on tonight as its the first snow. it's dumping on us right now. when i went out to start trying it out, there was only a couple inches on the ground. by the time i got done plowing, my tracks disappeared. there's probably 6" of the virgin out there right now. All in all i say it did well! i plowed the whole loop for the community in the same time it takes me to plow the driveway with the 4 Wheeler...

I think i remember now... Back when i did some concrete pumping work we sprayed hydraulic oil on the parts that could get cement on them. washed off real easy and nothing ever stuck!

What'd you use to clean your engine bay again? What about the underside?

Just in case anybody was unaware of it, turns out there is multiple styles of u joints that are used on the slip yoke to pinion. It doesn't even matter about the year, it is more about where the truck came from and on what day, lol.

I can't believe this.... Went to go put on the shaft on the truck, then when i went to bolt up the slip yoke, the caps were too small!!! Measured the hole and the caps and they're a 1/16" difference. WTF... I tack welded the two clips also. i can't just always go out and pay a shop to do things for me. sometimes you have to make due with what you have. risky, sure... I don't count on them coming out anytime soon either.

I put the Driveshaft off, but not anymore. i went to a local wrecker and picked up a replacement shaft. same price as a new slip yoke. so i errored on the side of caution and decided to put on the new parts i bought for the first Driveshaft. The slip yoke joint was easy. then things got harder. took some time for the first joint on the double cardan, but the last one took me hours. i tried everything i could think of top remove it. If i had a cutting torch i would have burned it out. Eventually it came out with the bfh and chisel with heat and some curse words. wish i would have had a press! I boogered up one side and had to clean it up with the dremel. then i went into seat the u joint. that's when i found out the groove for the clip is messed up the clip won't seat well... I have the other double cardan yoke section from my older shaft but worry it will cause a balance problem. true?? Otherwise i was wondering if i could tack weld the clip in the groove? Thoughts...

Thanks for all the input guys. it'll be nice to know that a couple of you live down that way so maybe we could meet up. The company has offered to fly us down there all expenses paid to check the area out . dunno what the specifics of that is, but will know more after thanksgiving when they outline the deals to each of us individually. I'm open to anything right now, but won't make any decisions until after i see what they have to offer. My thing is i value certain things that apparantly no one else can really offer except idaho. like my guns. i really like my guns, haha! when it comes to freedoms and liberty, idaho is great. Joel skousen rates idaho 5/5 and south Carolina 1.5/5 in his publishing of strategic relocation. that in itself makes idaho hard to beat. idaho has been always difficult for a good paying, steady job like I've had these past few years. it's going to be tough to lose the benefits that i currently enjoy with this company if i stay here. I'm sincerely hoping that donald trump will have transformed this country for the better by the time this company closes their doors here. it just might mean this area of idaho will have more economy. Much to think over and pray about...More to come when i find out more!

At this point i think i would prefer to defer my business with dap further... The persons point made to me was that he already discounted me for the rebuild on the injectors... i did not realize this, but makes me wonder if i would have just paid fill price would i have gotten the same level of service.

Got to the shop i was speaking of. nice little place. had all sorts of bench testing equipment! wish i could have seen their back room more. Pulled the one injector and they re set the pop pressure. it was initially popping at 245 bar. he set it to 305 like the others. Got it reinstalled into the truck and it was still loping! so he hooded up his scan tool and didn't show anything abnormal. then he shut each injector off at a time and turned then back on. the funny thing was after he turned then back on the lope would stay away for about 5 seconds then come back. So i thought great now what. he said he recommended starting at pulling all injectors again and having them test them. they were closing in an hour so i told them I'll get them to them after swapping them out. So we had off to do more errands and get to Costco. so the shopping and get back and the lope disappeared! Now it's running just fine! air in the line? did the computer have a re learn phase it was doing to compensate timing? Regardless I'm hoping this is the extent of my problems... Mr Murphy, go away!!!

A very sobering announcement has been made at work today. it was such a serious announcement that they had all of almost 300 of us employees in one auditorium to announce the news... My work is relocating to Summersville, south Carolina. This is virtually all the way over on the other side of this nation! they have been gracious enough to give all of us 2 years advanced notice before they close the doors here in Dover idaho. Among this announcement, they are willing to do an all expenses paid relocation package plus any other assistance in that. if you own your home here, they have a real estate company they will get with you to help sell your house and buy one near the new location. It came as such a shock to everyone today that you could hear a pin drop in that room. they knew they weren't going to get anything out of us from us swing shifters so they sent us home with pay. So i sit here, having a 2 year deadline looming over my head on what to do. lots of prayer and research will be done to weigh my options. i have a late as mid summer next year to give them an answer. For those that don't or won't go to the new location they have said that either way, it will be worth it to us to go or stay until the end. they are talking of bonuses and great severance package for those that stay to the end but don't go. There's more details to the situation, but i don't think it's any more relevant to divulge for my question: Has anyone or is in South Carolina? more specifically the Charleston/summerville area? I'd like input on the area as i want some firsthand experience. there was discussion for those that were interested in relocating that the company would pay us to fly down and check the area out. This could be a huge opportunity for me and the wife, but we also have a house and family here. it's awfully hard to think about right now. I'm sure that if anyone is interested i can get more info on the matter and especially as the press publishes the news.

Now he has to live up to his promises or it'll be the end of him and this country....

Found a shop a little ways away, going to have them test just the one injector. sure beats the alternative! Hoping to do it Friday,I'll keep you posted.

Nothing leaking... Everything is tight. I've called some other places for a perspective. everyone is saying pop pressures are bad. then i talked to Mike and we're certain it's from the one i swapped the nozzle out on. Never was i told you had to retest pop pressure after swapping nozzles. so i talked to dap again. i get the pleasure of paying shipping back to dap so they can fix their mistake. I think I'm done with them after this. it's going to be another 2 weeks before i get them back in to maybe see if they finally work as they should. i can't do it during the work week as i don't want to risk stranding myself. it's my daily driver. Remember, these were from injectors i got from them originally that only lasted about 40k miles... I've been contemplating buying some rv275s.
