  1. ....well this won't be my first rodeo! The nut appears to be sized for just that, crossover tube removal.
  2. Got them yesterday. Going to put them in this weekend! There was a nut included, any idea?
  3. You could become an uber driver! :D
  4. My concern is how your going to continue some sort of revenue stream to pay for your bills and expenses. Is that going to be an issue? I don't mean to ask personal things but that's going to be huge for you since your going to be burning allot more fuel, maintaining things more frequently and removing yourself from job opportunity to earn money since your time will be spent on the road more.
  5. I'll keep you posted as to how the new set differs from these currently in the truck. Still waiting for them to get here though... guess I'm gonna need to call for a tracking number. Hope i can get them in next week. DAP supposedly did pop testing and flow match. They just did it initially with an injector with the wrong nozzle!
  6. Yea, the first set...
  7. It's just getting old running through the gambit of vendors having to do things twice when it should be done right the first time. ...that's not bashing Eric at VP. Im just getting tired of it. It can be bad enough fixing the truck but then trying to fix it with inadequate parts sucks even more.
  8. I dropped some green on a set of rv275s from Vulcan 2 days ago. Hope to see it in the mail soon. Should i be concerned about the injectors being flow matched pop tested with them? Does he even do that with them or just take 6 off the shelf and pack them up? The other thing that just occurred to me is, could my cetane numbers for my fuel be part of the problem?
  9. This settles it. I'm going to buy a set of the rv275 from VP. don't see many Others offering genuine Bosch bodies when they say rv275 with their injectors. That's not an rv275, imo. It's just a 40hp injector, lol.
  10. Overnight i lost 10% charge. Had the battery charger on to top it up before heading to work. Over the weekend it was down to 70% after sitting 3 days. 50ma? At least that gives me something to benchmark off of...
  11. I'll check the batteries tomorrow before work again and see. It seems overnight but I'll check. I haven't but i guess i get to do it this weekend...
  12. Sigh.... I'm hazing at idle and am sure it's been this way since the injector install. Just gave it time to see if it would change any at all. I'm sure my tires have something to do with it too, but my fuel mileage is not so good and the egts still run hot. If i cruise at 65mph down the highway I'm at 800. Before, i would be around 700 at best. Sitting here, i have an 1/8th of a tank left and am at 359 miles!!! Granted i have done some snow plowing and 4wd too. But still terrible... i think i might buy new injectors. I'm so fed up with this!
  13. I had a thread on this subject at one time but it is so old now is been archived and it won't let me resurrect it. At the time i had some issues with the truck but they should be fixed now. I also had replaced my batteries as they were still giving me problems. It may be because of the issues i had. So i have new batteries, but it seems like they are still getting drained. I'm thinking the recent cold sub Zero weather has something to do with it. I was going to purchase a minder, tender but didn't know which one to get. Amperage wise i mean... i can get the Jr tender but it's .75a. So is that enough to maintain a float in two large batteries?
  14. The other night it got down to -10f. The inside was 70f. Going to sleep for work the next day, house made some loud cracking noises. It's like someone lit a firecracker in the attic! Freaked me out. Did it a few times and the last one i heard that night actually woke me. I went out to survey damage as i thought my roof caved in. Roof was fine but looking at it i could hear the trees cracking and creaking all around me!
  15. Mike, you ever considered a jetta tdi now that you have more driving to do? Even if you picked a late 90s you would still get 40mpg.
  16. Remember to claim your medical expenses on your tax returns. An agent will be about to nail down what you can claim specifically.
  17. I guess i should shed some more light on the new developments. If a person decides to stay and not go, they are offering to pay 6 months salary of bargained for compensation. This allows you to collect unemployment at the same time. This is their way of trying to retain you to stay until the end. They are also going to help with finding a new job. Reverse job fairs, help develop resumes and how to interview. The dept of labor will be helping as well and I'm hoping they are going to be able to help in securing ways in getting grants if someone wants to go back to school. If you decide to go, they will give you a year's worth of salary to help you relocate. It requires a 2 year commitment. The money will be grossed up as they say to cover income taxes and any other taxes during the process. They are also kicking the idea around of having some people go down temporarily to help train the new employee base. They are going to start doing the trips in February and on until done. It will be done in groups. They are going to find out who wants to go, then we get to take a survey of our lifestyle so the company they've teamed up with can help us in finding a place we want to live. Unfortunately they classed it as a business trip so i dunno how much we can actually stray away from the pack. Given the type of person i am, I'm beginning to place my "failsafes". I've already re-upped with the fire dept as a volunteer. This is going to get me back into the groove of things in that aspect. I'm going to be signing up for an emt class so i can get my license. There's quiet a few departments that are/or scheduled to be hiring. I plan on testing for them and see if i can get a career job! In the meantime, I'm going to increase on the bees as usual and explore more avenues for potential income/employment. If i get a fire job I'm not waiting for it, I'm gone! I'll let the wife stay to the end then she can go to school for psychology. Other means of preparing involves reducing debt and increasing savings. I just closed on a refi yesterday that is going to save me an extra couple hundred a month and its a reduced interest rate. I'm actually getting money back upon closing! Not much though, just a couple hundred, lol. Getting rid of the 5th wheel is a task for when spring rolls around. Ideally getting rid of it completely is best, but I've also been considering a slide in camper. If i went to south Carolina, that's how we would do it. We would live in the camper for 2 years then come back home and have hopefully a HUGE chunk of money to use.
  18. "IF" i move.
  19. I agree it has its limitations. But for a 1500 dollar plow, it has done real well so far. We had some heavier snow recently and it did fine. I know buying it, it wasn't going to be a silver bullet. But if you can keep on top of the snowfall, it'll do great. But if you get tons of it dumping on you like your experiencing over there, you'll be living in your truck staying on top of it. For now, its just a stop gap until the great and glorious day comes that i can buy my dream snow removal setup. (Deuce and a half with a pto snow thrower)
  20. So pull back on the 4wd shift selector while in 4wd?
  21. At this rate should have bought a new one from rock auto...
  22. 4wd seems to make a funny noise if i get going beyond 55mph. Like I'm riding on the rumble strip. Anything else, runs just fine. You may recall i had to repair the shaft got a used one then redid the u joints on that. Could it be out of balance?
