  1. Walmart everstart maxx is the only way to go I have an old military one ton chevrolet with a 24v start detroit in it and I have had those batterys for three years in it and it starts every time even after sitting for months on end.
  2. Since you have an auto I would go through and adjust the bands, and change all your fluids. Maintence can be expensive depending on your budget, however it will save you money in the long run. Once you get your transmission built up, programmer wise I don't think you can go wrong with the Edge Comp box and many others on here can back me up with that. Any programmer will most likely require an aftermarket lift pump.
  3. Would you looking and seeing which model I was looking at there stuff but I can't find out which one will for sure fit my truck.
  4. ordered mine today I just couldn't hold off any longer, http://www.thoroughbreddiesel.com/flo-pro/exhaust-system.htm even came with a free tip and free shipping 335 out the door
  5. I found the ball joints on my truck were loose so I am going to replace them with MOOG stuff this weekend and I was thinking about investing in a decent ball joint press. Has anybody out there used one, if so what brand were you happy with? Is there any tricks that you have learned after changing yours?
  6. I put one on my truck because It had a K&N gauze one on it when I bought the truck and I know of a few people who have had issues with the filter coming apart and tearing up the turbo. As big as the filter is I don't think you will ever exceed the amount of air flow that it can provide.
  7. Thanks y'all I have found a flo pro brand five inch exhaust for a little over 300, I'm going to go with the 5 since i'm hitting almost 1300 egt at wot.
  8. I have been thinking about puttin a new exhaust on my truck, but there is so many different brands to pick from. I'm lookin for opinions to see who has what and if they are happy with what they bought. Thanks y'all.
  9. I run a wix filter on mine, it takes a few seconds for me to get oil pressure to. How long does it take for everybody else to get oil pressure.
  10. I recently got a brand new comp box from edge, had it for about two weeks then when it got cold at night around freezing temps my comp wouldn't turn on til it got warm and you restarted the truck. I called edge and they had me send it in, they also cut me a deal on the hot unlock. I finally got it back from edge everything is good now and I'm glad I got the hot unlock.
  11. I conclude with mike on that one.
  12. I replaced the speakers in my truck this weekend and I have the premium sound so I had to remove the amp, I found a link to help out with the wiring. http://crutchfield.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/4640/kw/ram%20infinity/session/L3RpbWUvMTMxOTg5MjQ3NC9zaWQvbVp4X1NNSGs%3D I hope this helps at least a few people out.
  13. I haven't added a friction modifier.
  14. I have the cb mount from genos garage, it was easy and I don't have to drill any holes in my interior I have a Wilson "lil will" mag mount antenna on top of the cab but I'm getting ready to get a headache rack and then I will mount the antenna on there.
  15. I am changing the thermostat in my truck today and didn't know whether or not to put some sealer on the bolts for the thermostat housing.
  16. I have a 70 rear with factory posi and I put valvoline 75-140 in it 15,000 miles ago with no issues to this day, I believe I read in the owners manual or the factory service manual that allowed 75-140 if you wanted to run synthetic, however it was not required.
  17. Mine only used to drop about 5 pounds now it drops 10 pounds. I has it set at 18 at idle a month ago now its only 16 at idle and it now drops to 6 pounds. I guess its time to call airdog and get a warranty luckily for me they are made in the next town over.
  18. When I had my quadzilla on my truck I had the pulse monitor on it. I could read oil pressure and coolant temp from the pulse display and it was reading it off the data link by the fuel pump. I am wondering when you flip that switch if it messes with the 5v supply signal to the oil pressure gauge or something because it gave me good reading through the dlc.
  19. Thanks everybody im still new to these trucks but im learning fast thanks to y'all.
  20. I am adding a boost, pyro, and fuel gauges to my pillar. How do y'all wire up the back lighting for your gauges and where do you run your boost line in the intake at do you just drill and tap the intake horn?
  21. I prefer the traditional tire weights, however they should not fall off if the right type is put on correctly. Do you balance them yourself or have a shop do it for you. My uncle tried the balance powder in his 26,000 gvw service truck and the two tires he put the powder in starting coming apart, it was the only two of the tires out of six that were coming apart and those were the two with powder in them. All six tires were the same brand and installed at the same time.
  22. Thanks for all the input y'all, after I put a new set of tires on my truck real soon I think the only things im worried about on the truck are the ball joints and rear u joints. I have already replaced the tie rods and the front u joints along with a built auto tranny with a temperature gauge in the pillar. - - - Updated - - - I have a couple of questions for you, how much did the insurance rider cost you and as for the bump stops, do you think a stronger spring would be better up front instead of the bump stops or should I put on both.
  23. My intention is to plow for hire and make some money. My father has an 1986 one ton chevy with a 6.2 diesel in it that I am thinking about talking to him about putting a plow on there instead. The issue with that is it's his truck, it doesn't have near the torque of my cummins, and it doesn't have a block heater and its hard to start. I found some heavier duty coil springs on rock auto that are supposed to be good for a thousand more pounds, if I do plow with my dodge I think I will put those on the front end. The only thing left I think for me to be worried about is the ball joints but I keep them greased regularly.
  24. I have been thinking about adding a snow plow to my truck for this season if I can get it for the right price. I was wondering what anybody's thoughts and opinions were on adding one. I am a little nervous since it has coil springs up front and I'm not sure if they will take the abuse very well. Thanks in advance.
