  1. 5/8" is a max. Most end up at 1/2" for the spacers. There are variances in every install.Ed
  2. Most heated filter heads are thermoataticly controlled. They would be on a relay & fuse that is controlled by the ignition ON switch. Ed
  3. As many writeups as we can get are great. We really appreciate them. Ed
  4. The aftermarkets are just that. The injectors that require cores are all genuine BOSCH. That's why they require a core. I just picked up a set of 150s for my future goals. For what you want, I would suggest 60-75 HP over stock, as they will do fine & cool with the HX. Just tune them with the Edge. This would be close to Michael's setup. Ed
  5. Uhm, might we want to start a new thread on CP3s & Common rails? I would like to keep this thread for the high idle/MPG fooler. No disrespect intended.... Ed
  6. The new faceplates are at DAP. I do not believe that they have enough to sell just the faceplates. I will talk to Jacob about stocking extras for people who just have to have the bling.... LOL Ed
  7. The new option.... I wish I had thought of it in the beginning, as they really look great ! Ed
  8. Not going to the Stealership 2 or 3 times(Because they are morons).... PRICELESS. Ed
  9. Never done an analysis, but I do 4,000 mile filters & 12,000 changes. Ed
  10. Since I am a vendor on this forum, I can actually tell it all !!!! Go to www.dieselautopower.com & buy the high idle/MPG fooler setup. Next week will feature the brushed aluminum plates of both flavors. Regular plates will run you $150. Brushed aluminum will run $155. Plug & play & in a winter season or 2, you will have paid for it in fuel savings, let alone preheating your engine properly. Ed
  11. Pull the turbo & inspect it for FOD Ed
  12. Now, people are trying to get new pump motors to line up with the housings & no go. They WILL sell you a new base, though.... Gerotors not liniing up, either. Ed
  13. Project # 2 is first. Then, some special development work, then fuel systems..... Honestly, I will have a "Small" fuel system, but once you go over 450HP, it's a whole different world. Definitely not for everyone & will not be cheap at all. But, it shall be the best. Ed
  14. I'm getting a Fass 150 adjustable for the time being. That way, at least I can put the FP PID back on the PV without wanting to drive through pureflow's front door. Ed
  15. Hell, I'm even going to buy a Fass when I deliver the next batch of High idle/MPG switches to DAP (Shiny new brushed aluminum faceplates). It'll be several months before I do a fuel system. Ed
  16. THey are failing left & right.... Many motors & gerotors. Google "Airdog failure" if you have several hours to spare. Ed
  17. Airdog recovery kit. 3 speeds, adjustable clutch for better pressure regulation & if the Ricer pulls up, put it in Hammer Mode.... There is an upgrade kit at True Value, Braided stainless hoses for $26.00 Ed
  18. I changed my details on it & it was simple. Great idea.If this dumb blonde can figger it out.... Ed
  19. About the map & people with a Smarty. Due to me being the manufacturer, I cannot do it. I will have a vendor screenname when the mods fix the account. When that is done, I have to follow very strict guidelines. Maybe michael can embed the map in the "High Idle Article section, as I will be allowed to link that on CF. Ed
  20. Cool. We can do that when we get some more.Do me a favor & post a thread on CF about it, as I don't want to get spanked again... Ed
  21. I used to use a roofing torch. Had the propane can ratchet strapped to a 2 wheel dolly. Much more fun to drinking hot chocolate & Goldschlager while using fire to remove the evil white stuff. I did all the elderly people's driveways & walks that used to pay me $10 in the 70s & early 80s. They woke up & their drive & walk were mysteriously free of snow. Took 4 storms to get caught by ol' Frank Mcnulty. I also drove from 3 towns away to take care of those that used to overpay me as a kid. When everything is melted, you can dry it with the torch to prevent slip & falls. Ed
  22. If you have a Smarty & are willing to flash trucks to enable High Idle for other users, where are you & how far are you willing to travel? Thank you, Ed
  23. If you are rebuilding the engine, download the reduilding guide from Holsett & throw a kit at your HX. You can do it while you are waiting for the machining to be done. That way you are "Happy happy joy joy". Ed
  24. Actually, it & the 37 series (Virtually the same without computer) are very common in europe. Ed
