AC ripple Testing
Can I Test for AC ribble with my Fluke multi meter? My local Alternator/ starter repair shop can check it again but I have to remove my alt. from my truck because he only does bench testing He also said there will always be some slight AC ripple. Is that true? .

Heater Grid: disconnecting it, (benefits?)
While waiting for Mike's response Will disconnecting the heater grid effect the "wait to start" light? I thought it might not even light up after disconnecting, but it still lights up on on the dash on my truck....??? .

Heater Grid: disconnecting it, (benefits?)
99 CTD 4x4 Tell me about advantages of disconnecting the heater grid. Im in Calif, but will be moving back to Idaho or Washington state I disconnected the Heater grid wire eyelet right at the drivers side battery positive terminal. ( is that the proper place to disconnect?) Ran my truck to see if it would throw the checkengine light (nope} So tell me the advantages or extra safeguard I benefit by disconnecting the heater grid. I thought I heard disconnecting it helped protect the ECM or something like that ? ? ? Or what issues does the heater grid operating cause, if any ? I obviously draws amps/power

Anyone heard of RAE Diesel (Reman Auto Electronics)? They are Part of Flight Systems Electronics group http://www.remanautoelectronics.com/about https://www.fseg.net/ I talked to them seems like a winner . The ECMs are re-manufactured, up graded, and also repaired if needed , not just repaired .

Elec./ Computer... lingering problem
Mike , I found what your are talking about and every thing is good tight and clean. In the picture your hand is on a ground wire that has a plug connection. Is that plug something that should be pulled apart and plugged back in? Mine plug looks in great condition. I also have new military battery terminals and up graded cable ends

Elec./ Computer... lingering problem
Where is " passenger main ground for the computers " Do you mean the ground wire on the PCM ? not the ECM

Elec./ Computer... lingering problem
Ok, You guys told me this before, 2-3 years ago, And Mopar man had a thread on Alt noise and bad diode that I saw I had my alternator checked and it had a bad diode so I had my alternator rebuild with new diode pack and brushes a couple years ago, So my Alternator is good Did my bad Alternator diode damage my ECM? So I need to get my ECM rebuild or get another rebuilt/ good ECM ? What / Where exactly is the passenger main ground for the computers. Ill read the link

Elec./ Computer... lingering problem
I have a long time issue '99 CTD 4x4 with 170,000, Ive owned the truck for a long time When I turn on the ignition key to 'On',,, the truck alot of times the lift pump and "wait to start" light have a 3-4 second delay before they get power. So it will crank but not fire up unless you wait to here the lift pump turn on and the 'wait to start" light to go on. Its like a 3-4 second delay for the computer to boot up or something is the best way I can describe it. It is a electric issue not a fuel issue sence I mentioned the lift pump, dont get the wrong idea Any ideas what causes this?

Basically I was looking for what brand name OEM aftermarket. Looks like look for "DOT approved OEM" I thought you had to re-wire and put in relays etc so both bulbs stay on at highbeam....When you convert to sport headlights That link looks like just pig tails to separate for two bulbs each side instead of one dual bulb Does the low beam bulb go off on high beam (like the non sport)with that set-up? It should id think Found these https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00O83JAWE?psc=1 Are the bulbs in these different than stock? Found these .
