  2. Ive been reading up. I need to do something with my original fogged up headlights on my '99 CTD My 81 chevy 4x4 has glass sealed beams , It blows me away, $200-$600 ++ for new head lights,, Geeze !
  3. Oh, OK,,, Ive seen those on newer cars. I always wondered what that were for. Just Bling What is the box/relay mounted to your firewall for? . . Damn,,, PIAA sure is proud of their lights $$$$$ ! Over priced or what !
  4. Is that a strip of LED at the bottom of the headlight lens? Is that just for looks or to be cool or a wow factor ? Or is there a purpose for that??? .
  5. I wondered how long the grid heater stays on. Is it just timer timed or is it thermostatically controlled some how?
  6. If a DRBlll or even your Tester is used , Would it Diagnose a Bad ECM that needs to be replaced ?,,,Like what I have, that is causing my symptoms of, Ignition On, Boot up delay before my truck will start
  7. I googled DRBlll tool . I think my friend that has a working shop has one that he used on my Truck a few days ago. I'll ask him if it is a DRBlll. I know he was able to do more diagnosing than my scanner I have a OBDll that just scans for codes and reads them Does the DRBlll do a lot more Diagnostic functions etc etc
  8. Chrysler Crash Detection ? As in dented fenders vehicle crash accident ,,, or,,, computer crash/failure
  9. Damn,,,,, I guess your truck isnt running right now I see the ECM plug .
  10. On my '99, The grid heater and "wait to start" light , is what got me wondering if those were on a 12er PCM where a 24er these are on the ECM.... and etc Since Im waiting for my new ECM to arrive for my '99 which is having ECM boot up delays Mike, what does CCD stand for? .
  11. Probably what he ment Got me wondering,,,, how a 96-97 12 valve PCM compares to a 98-99 PCM,, on a 24 valve that also has a ECM
  12. Well that's what I thought, Here is a guy with a bad "ECM" on a 96 12 valver http://www.cumminsforum.com/forum/98-5-02-powertrain/2367257-ecm.html .
  13. I should have kept my Denso Starter and rebuilt the contacts I had replaced it with a Napa starter and the napa chinese starter crapped out in one year, Bad / broken armature or field wires drawing to many amps. Just poor quality starter. Acted like my batteries were dead when the batteries were brand new, slow cranking/ excessive amp draw Swapped it for another since it was a lifetime napa guarantee Next time I might just buy a new Denso for $400 that will last 10 years plus
  14. I was thinking , How is a Remanufactured ECM programed to your Vin number. What equipment is involved? Software? Is it this big mysterious machine, kept in a underground bunker that does it? Do they swing a dead chicken in the air? Throw a pinch of salt over their left shoulder? Or are the vin number programs on CDs and they just plug into the ECM with a USB port and run a CD on a lap top computer Anyone really Know?
  15. What's FSS? Yeah Larry B's kit
  16. I dont have a 12valver but do 2nd gen 12v have a ECM? along with a PCM? Is 12v ECM similar to the 98-2001 but just without injector pump electronics part I have a '99 CTD.
  17. ..03 sounds familiar. wasnt mike's truck .028 in his video?
  18. From ME78's link, Mikes post .01 or .10 ???
  19. So is the purpose of disconnecting the grid heater to stop the excessive unnecessary amp draw on batteries / alternator etc...... and give the ECM a safe space and inner peace and sheeit and stuff,, lol .
  20. I cant remember exactly how to do it. You test DC volts and then turn the meter dial to AC and the numbers need to be a certain value or less? Or some chit ? ? .
  21. What's that ? Mike had a video, "How to check a Dodge Ram Alternator for AC waveform" but the video is disabled or errored
