Quadzilla Adrenaline V2 Testing

Like myself I've got rather smallish injectors where I can ramp up aggressively and still be rather smokeless running. Now like @TFaoro he's got to ramp up slow and be more careful about settings because of the larger injectors. Name of the game is to feed as much fuel as possible across the full fuel and boost map without smoking excessively. When you get smoke then your basically flooding the cylinder without enough boost pressure to ignite the fuel completely. I'm still attempting to get better handle on all the setting and relearning with every flash upgrade.

Like with my set up I enjoy the idea that the injectors are small and need to use the Quadzilla Adrenaline to push beyond the stock rates. This makes for good control yet and MPG values. I'm still waiting for @Me78569 and @TFaoro to catch me in the MPG game. The horse power game has already been played out we all know how far these trucks will go with HP/TQ but has anyone play the efficiency game to 30 MPG? Not yet on the 24 valved trucks. I'm going to attempt to beat my previous 27.2 MPG by any amount.

Lol I have a smooth stream of smoke at idle so my mpg numbers will never be any more than the low 20s at best. I'm a happy camper with 20mpg though!

At the end of the day it's all about what you want. I want as much power as possible, decent mpgs, and be able to tow anything without melting the engine apart.

Your goals are towing, excellent mpgs and enough power to have fun. The great thing about the quad is it'll accommodate both of us no matter what we want!

Here you go gang. I found an easy way to build fuel maps for the Quadzilla.

http://www.rapidtables.com/calc/math/exponential-growth-calculator.htm

So I started out by setting my "Enter initial value (x0)" to 100 which is where I want my starting point of my fuel map. I set my "Enter growth/decay rate (r)" to 1.3% then enter 30 to "Enter time (t)" to see when the max value hit. Then start at 0 and work your way up plugging the numbers into Quadzilla. Makes a nice clean curve for the fuel map. If you want it steeper you can increase growth rate 0.1 or 0.2 higher. Works good. Now I'm just a gray haze in lvl 3 or lvl 6. So I've got it nailed down just about right for my truck. This calculator makes a nice exponential curve for the fuel map. Here is what I've got now.

  1. 101
  2. 102
  3. 103
  4. 105
  5. 106
  6. 108
  7. 109
  8. 110
  9. 112
  10. 113
  11. 115
  12. 116
  13. 118
  14. 119
  15. 121
  16. 122
  17. 126
  18. 129
  19. 132
  20. 136
  21. 139
  22. 143
  23. 147

The ECM will command a fueling message of 3600 in stock form.  So since 4095 is the max 4095/3600 = 1.13 or 113% at WOT fuel fuel form the ecm will get you to the max,

However we typically want to max it out sooner, so you use a higher % before peak ecm fueling to allow for max fuel sooner.

I figured it wouldn't be a simple answer, even though it sounds simple enough.

Driving right now on my custom MPG tune, My EGT is around 550 and boost around 3, liometer is above 30, hoping to see decent numbers. I don't believe I've ever seen my EGT this slow cruising at 55 60

It never is an easy answer.

Use the datalogging feature to get an idea about how it work.  you can export ot spreadsheet and build a graph of the fueling curve.    that visual-ness will give you a better understanding of how the fueling works.

Is anyone else having trouble with the quad picking up the last known setting after the truck has been turned off?

Anyone else on an idevice?

To be clear you are talking about the Power Level reverting back to LVL0 after you turn the truck off?

What fuse is you're tapping?  What are the odds that something funky in the CTM causes a prolonged 12v that goes away after an hour or some given period of time?  Maybe somehting with the lights I dunno just thinking out loud.

Does it revert back to lvl0 if you turn the truck off for say 30 seconds?

Onyl thing I am thinking of is that there used to be some trucks that just would not hold the setting using fuse 9 or 7 or whatever it is you are supposed to use.  They switched to another fuse and bam it started working.  this was a number of years ago, but it comes to mind since you have a late truck

- In cab it's number 9 (ignition I believe)  and under the hood for the 12v is whatever the edge use to be plugged into, can't remember though and will have to go take a look.

Yes.  Time doesn't seem to make a difference.

Not quite sure but I took a multi-meter to it a few time both on and off and it's always hot.

Cool thanks.  I would call Spencer and ask him whats up.  I was gonna look at a wire diagram and see what I find.

did you extend the wire for the 12v lead?  Might be worth probing the big quad connector for power on that pin to make sure the box is getting power.

@Carbur8tr

Also if the Quad reverts to lvl0 it also reverts to the default tune...or I think it does.

Yes but I'm confident at this point that it's not the harness that's the issue.  I might try to run it to the battery and see if that changes anything, but honestly this has been happening prior to modifying the harness and it was connected to the battery.  I just thought it was normal.

Might be the fact that I'm using an ipad but who knows.  I'll give Spencer a call tomorrow and see if he knows anything.

Hey Guys I have an issue. When ever I plug my ADR into the computer, the usb connection seems to "reset" every 10 seconds, and the flash tool does not see the module. I followed all of the prompts and instructions for setting up the hardware, this ADR is brand new from Thoro bred diesel.

Any possibility I got an ADR with a bad USB-Serial converter? What do you guys think?

The disconnecting is normal.

Did you force install the driver for the quad?  What Operating system are you running?  the Quad is fine, but I am guessing you need to install the drivers for the box.
