Quadzilla Adrenaline V2 Testing

Already tried that and it still just felt/looked to be a little too early to me.  Again, I didn't feel any surging but I felt like it ramped up super quick and even in daily driving conditions. Who knows, maybe it's just me.

Might also be that I have a stick and use a little more of the RPM range for daily driving then you or Tyler.

AFAIK I'm the only one getting surging. Not sure what the issues is, but it had something to do with the timing being too high too early.

Don't be scared of the timing coming in hard. If you ever had a chance to look at smarty you'd know what I'm saying.

Ive been driving V2.1 the last three days with no issues. Working on my fueling, but Ill be messing with my timing tune soon

Been wonderful to run the tune I've got. I've been hauling hay for a job. Excellent power, still very smoke free for the most part. I do see a light puff of smoke but clears up rather quickly even towing. EGT's are still really low even running the highway at 60-65 MPH. Even climbing grades. What I've got on the trailer is five one ton hay bails. Still got enough power that in 3rd gear if I get into the power it will break the tires loose.

That's a pretty good sized load for a bumper pull! I'm assuming the trailer has 7K axles?

Be mindful of your receiver hitch's weight capacity:thumbup2:

Not sure about the trailer specs it Tyler Jones trailer he wanted it loaded and hauled. So I supplied the Cummins using my RV 2 5/16 ball hitch. Still in all the power is great. I ended up losing my towing tune with all the phone switch I've done for MoparMom. So I'm going to rename my Empty Truck tune to "Clean Tune" being it works very well for towing too. Now I'm going to build a performance tune that is more aggressive like the Edge Comp was on 5x5.

Just remember your receiver is rated at 10K :thumbup2:

I'm working on "taming" the smarty

Starting at 50% I've still got a bit of smoke off the line, but it's very hard to get moving with the way off-idle is working. @Me78569 I have some ideas on this as it seems to be worst at low throttle input.

I was able to get the Quad installed on my truck today.  It was dark and sleeting out by the time I finished the install so I only drove it around the section to make sure there were no problems.  Looking forward to the morning drive to work.:)

Give me your thoughts?

@Me78569 can you try out my XM2 tune at your starting percent? I am interested to know what mileage you get. Attached is the .xls version if you want to try it. I just make a formula to add X amount of fuel to each scale so its easy to use on differently modded trucks. I am seeing 31 MPG on the overhead @ 70MPH.

Also what do you think of 12* @ 80% Scaling?

I will once I get the truck back on the ground, she is up waiting on u joints and a center support.

My mileage seems to follow cruise timing variable pretty close, my best mpg comes at around 3.5% timing so far, netting ~19.50* at 65.

12* at %80 gives you a pretty nice timing curve, not to aggresive that would max out before 25* total timing up top.    If the truck is happy and you are happy...........I am happy haha

One note looking at your tune, You Wiretap Max TPS % is 99% if you got WOT while boost is below 10psi the quad will set psi to 10psi and ignore the map sensor.    just in case you noticed wierd fueling down low.

Hey Guys,

I did a quick experiment the other night regarding max timing. Here is my results

All tests were done on the same tune, with timing scaling at 53%.

Starting conditions were 80* ambient, coasting 40MPH in 4th Gear 1:1 ~1500RPMs

Test performed: Time from 0PSI to 20 PSI boost.

clock starts at 100%TPS.

Test 1 Max timing 15* - 0-20PSI = 2.16 Seconds

Test 2 Max timing 10* - 0-20PSI = 2.09 Seconds

Test 3 Max timing 8* - 0-20PSI = 2.07 Seconds

Test 4 Max timing 6* - 0-20PSI = 2.09 Seconds.

I did this test with an IPhone, so there could be up to 0.09 seconds error from reaction time.

Great info,

What happens if you use your 12* with %80 scaling for timing limit, but use 3-5* of timing on the timing reduction variable?

That should make your boost climb like test 4, since it will hold timing lower longer, but keep timing up top near 25*.  Cake and eat it too.

Good point on the pump TPS, I haven't been running above PL3, so no issues yet, but I will set everything back to 100% when I go to the track on the 16th. if you would like me to test any specific timing curves let me know.

I will be doing data logs from each run on the track, I am setting up a throttle limiter which I will use to test stock fueling @ 20%, 40%, 50%, 60%, 80%, and 100% max TPS to start. From there I will adjust my tunes and try to get my aggressive tunes dialed in. then I can use that data to dial in the Daily / Screw around Tunes.

I like the way you think sir, I will try this at the track on Test Tune 1

Timing timing timing = awesome.  First day in a while that I haven't been pulling something and finally did a few rips with the new timing.

And just as a comparison of raw values

And from today's run.

So funny story here... I noticed I was losing ECM voltage slowly through the data which you can tell a little from the first data chart and the one right above... Turns out I had a bad battery but would have never thought twice about it unless I was data logging.  CCA tested out below 100 amps haha needless to say it was gone and was replaced earlier this week.  That and now my fuel pressure is starting to bug me the more I see in the data where it dropped to 8-9 PSI during some of those pulls.

@Me78569 I hate to bring this up, but I think the upper end of the boost pressure reading is either showing a little bit of an error or the cold air is effecting the overall pressure.  You know my data fairly well and never have you or I seen over 42 psi, well that is until recently.  I have this set of data then yesterday's where I pulled numbers over 45psi.  Any thoughts?  I've included the data below. No rush, just seeing what you thought.
